Chapter 56: Prince Jing Pt. 1

On the Road to Leandore

As the Emperor made his dash to the Josper boarders. Wang Fèn Yǒng and the warriors he bought along with him rode night and day in their gambit to catch Prince Jing of Josper. They stopped only to take care of their horses and when they came across a wagon full of melded ore.

Fèn Yǒng wasted no time, energy, or manpower on the smugglers he came across escorting the wagons of melded ore. Instead, he immediately had the Gòu Army Archers full all the smugglers full of bolts and arrows swiftly killing them all.

He assigned a small team of warriors to escort each wagon back. Each team of warriors was tasked with burying the dead smugglers before escorting the wagons back to the Imperial City. The freed Shadow Warriors that shadowed each wagon were also sent back with each team to report to Wang Fèn Yǒng's Commander of his Shadow Warriors.

It took a few days for Wang Fèn Yǒng to catch up with Prince Jing. Wang Fèn Yǒng wasted no time in opening up an unnecessary dialog with Prince Jing. When Wang Fèn Yǒng caught up with Prince Jing, it was high noon. Prince Jing and the group of warriors and smugglers totaled to approximately two hundred. This group was much bigger than the wagons that Wang Fèn Yǒng had been coming across for the past few days.

Prince Jing and his group of warriors and smugglers had just stopped to water and feed the horse. Prince Jing was anxious. He sent off several messages and received no replies to any of the messages he sent. This boded ill all Prince Jing wanted was to make it safely back to Josper.

However, he couldn't shake the feeling of foreboding. Prince Jing was an average-sized slender man. He wasn't tall. Neither could he be called short. He had small deepest triangular cruel-looking eyes. A deep aura of arrogance surrounded him.

Wang Fèn Yǒng gave the order for five thousand Gòu Archers to surround the clearing that Prince Jing and his group had stopped in. By the time Prince Jing and his warriors and smugglers realized that they were no longer alone. It was too late. They were already surrounded. The sound of swords being unsheathe filled the clearing as the warriors and smugglers all immediately rushed towards Prince Jing to protect him. They pushed Prince Jing into the center of the group. Using their bodies, they formed a wall of protection around him.

"Who are you? Identify yourselves!" Prince Jing screamed in rage from the center of the wall of bodies that ringed around him.

He asked that question of the wrong person. Wang Fèn Yǒng was well known as a callous, cold person who would rather kill you then talk to you. Right now, Wang Fèn Yǒng couldn't be bothered with Prince Jing. He was focused on getting to Leandore.

Wang Fèn Yǒng raised one hand in the air, signaling for the archers to prepare to fire. As his hand dropped, he uttered the word "Loose." The bolts and arrows of one thousand Gòu Archers were released from crossbows and bows.

Seeing the rain of bolts and arrows that was heading their way. The warriors and smugglers turned and threw themselves onto the Prince of Jing, burying him under their bodies, protecting him with their lives. Wang Fèn Yǒng uttered the word "Loose," repetitively then order the Gòu Archers to fire at will turning the Josper warriors and smugglers into pincushions, and then he waited.

His patience was thin, and he wanted to get back on the road to Leandore. The Emperor had found an excellent short cut that significantly cut down his travel time. Wang Fèn Yǒng knew the Emperor would waste no time in securing the garrisons of Josper. Wang Fèn Yǒng was determined to get to Leandore before the Emperor and secure the garrison as the Emperor commanded of him.

However, he waited with the little patience that he had. He waited and waited. Finally, his patience ran out, and Wang Fèn Yǒng said in his normal ice-cold voice, "Are you going to come out? Or do you want me to come in and pull you out?

The warriors who waited with Wang Fèn Yǒng looked dubiously at the pile of bodies. Still, there was no action from the pile of bodies. Wang Fèn Yǒng mercilessly and coldly gave the order to his Dark Blood Warriors, "Go detach the head of every person from their body in that pile."

Only then, to the astonishment of the warrior who waited with Wang Fèn Yǒng did the pile of bodies began to move. Several people began to crawl out of the pile of bodies just as over five hundred Dark Blood Warriors started to carry out Wang Fèn Yǒng's order of detaching the heads from each body.
