Chapter 27: You're Too Morally Lacking

Holding his bow, Jiang Tài Píng said, "Young Master I would like to thank you for your life-saving grace. Can Young Master tell me where I can find you to repay..."

"Alright, Alright," Liu Tián Qǔ said, cutting him off. "I understand your gratitude, and I am happy I was able to help you in your time of need, no need to overthink. They are preparing the medicine for your wife now. Just stay here and wait for the medicine then hurry home and take care of your wife. Time is short for me, and I still have much to do before the day ends. So I will say farewell now." Liu Tián Qǔ said before bowing in farewell and walking over to the counter to order the tonic she needed.

As she walked over to the counter. One of the customers that had turned his back and ignored the situation. And the customer that called out with Liu Tián Qǔ to help Jiang Tài Píng received their packages and left the store.

Behind the counter was a tall thin older grey-haired man with a long white beard. It was hard to determine the older man's age. Although his hair was grey. His face and skin was not wrinkled.

The older man watched Liu Tián Qǔ from the time she entered the store with an indescribable look in his eyes. The older grey-haired man hardly removing his eyes from her. As Liu Tián Qǔ stepped up to the counter. He walked over to Liu Tián Qǔ to serve her himself. Causing the shop attendant that was about to assist Liu Tián Qǔ to back away in surprise.

Liu Tián Qǔ greeted him before saying, "Grandfather, I need one month's supply of the best body strengthening tonic you have for an eleven-year-old girl who is in poor health. Can you help me out with that?" Liu Tián Qǔ wanted to be as safe as possible. Maybe she was overthinking, but she decided to order the tonics using an age younger than her real age.

"What is her illness?" The elder asked with a strange glitter in his eyes.

Liu Tián Qǔ was so focused on the older man she failed to notice the looks of utter shock and astonishment that everyone was shooting her way from the customers to the shop attendants.

"She is not ill grandfather. She just doesn't like to eat meat. Ever since she was little, she mostly ate a diet of just vegetables, and she doesn't exercise. So her strength is weak, and her health is poor."

"Um," the old man said, stroked his beard."I understand, give me a moment to think of the best tonic suitable for her."

Standing not too far from Liu Tián Qǔ. The other two customers that had turned their backs and ignored the situation with Jiang Tài Píng received their packages and turned to leave.

The older man had finished thinking and begin writing out a prescription.

As the two customers reached the door and began exiting the shop, one of the men turned back. Walking over, he approached Liu Tián Qǔ. While approaching Liu Tián Qǔ, he bowed in greeting before saying with an ingratiating smile, "Excuse me, Young Master, I mean no disrespect. I just wish to ask, are you related to the Liu Family?"

Liu Tián Qǔ turned to the man with a cold face and said in an ice-cold hard voice full of authority that belied her age, causing everyone in the shop to freeze. "You failed to help a fellow brother that you saw in desperate need. Tell me why should I feel inclined to tell you who I am or make the acquaintance of a man like you? You're too morally lacking. Scram!" She flicked her hand in a shooing motion openly sneering at him.

The man stood there frozen in deep utter shock mouth wide open gawking at Liu Tián Qǔ for several heartbeats. The store was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Finally gathering his wits about him. The man's face flushed blood-red in embarrassment and anger. The man pointed a finger at Liu Tián Qǔ, shaking with rage he said, "You, You.. how can you talk to your elders like that?

"Elder? How could a morally lacking person like you label yourself as my elder? You think too highly of yourself." Liu Tián Qǔ said in a cold hard voice.

The man stood there, shaking in anger. As he opened his mouth to speak, Liu Tián Qǔ cut the man off before he could utter more nonsense. "I see you are dressed very richly. It wouldn't have killed you to offer one gold to help out with one days' medicine. This medicine shop is a business. They are here to make money. But even they did their part to help out for two days suffering a loss." Liu Tián Qǔ said unaware of the intense scrutiny of the older man behind the counter and the puffed out chests and proud looks on the faces of the shop attendants.

"If you have fallen on hard times and couldn't help financially. Moral support and words of encouragement could be a lifeline. It could help a person push through the most difficult of times. But what did you do? Ah? You turned your back to Jiang Tài Píng. The symbol of utter disregard. So tell me why should I regard you as an elder? What is there for me to learn from you. Scram!" Liu Tián Qǔ yelled scram as she pointed towards the door.

Feel completely humiliated, angry, and embarrassed the man couldn't bear to stay in the shop one second longer. Turning around, he dashed out of the door.

"The audacity of him," Liu Tián Qǔ flick her sleeves in anger. 'Elder my ass' Liu Tián Qǔ thought to herself. If there was one thing that really pissed Liu Tián Qǔ off in her past life, it was when elders would act utterly shameless and without morals but insist that younger people listen and obey them. She had no problem being obedient to older people that had morals and knew shame. Those that didn't better not bother her if they knew what was good for them.
