Liu Residence
Over the next several days in the Imperial City, the Imperial Granaries where opened, but the City remained sealed. No one was allowed to enter or exit the Imperial City. This made Liu Tián Qǔ determine that in the future, it would be best for her to become self-sufficient. She also decided that in the future, she would build a massive storage facility in Liu Residence.
Liu Tián Qǔ also decided she would have an enormous storage facility built in the garrison she was having Commander Jiang design and build. Although Liu Tián Qǔ didn't study history in-depth. She was a bit knowledgeable about certain aspects of history. If there was one thing she knew, it was that there were always droughts or famines in history.
Due to the sealing of the Imperial City, there was a food shortage. So the Imperial Granaries were opened to solve that problem. Liu Tián Qǔ also realize how far things have deviated from the memories of the new owner.
Over the past few days, Commander Jiang had been going out to investigate in between his duties of preparing to secure the residence. Commander Jiang would bring back all the news and information he would find out throughout the day.
Although Liu Tián Qǔ knew major corruption was going on. The extent to which the corruption had grown had shocked her silly. Never in a million years would she had guessed things were so bad. Yesterday morning Liu Tián Qǔ went over to Wang Royal Manor to speak with Wang Fèn Yǒng. It was only then she found out from the Wang Royal Manor guard she met on her first visit just how bad things really got.
Because the Imperial City was sealed, and everyone forced to stay indoors on the first night. Not many people knew that the Emperor was not in the Imperial City. Not many people realize or even know just how bad the situation has gotten.
Liu Tián Qǔ was still shocked over just how bold Josper was to do a stealthy invasion to steal the Tolling Lands resources. This was an operation that has been in function for years. That means that the Prince of Jing of Josper, Leandore, and God knows how many others. At will, these people have been trotting in and out of the Tolling Lands doing whatever they wanted. How bold.
However, Liu Tián Qǔ had her own worries. Over that past few days, she began taking the strengthen potions and working out. Three times a day, she had to run off to the kitchen to given the chef's pointers. Liu Tián Qǔ also sent Butler Zhou out to hire three tutors at the Tolling Lands Imperial Academy of Scholars two days ago.
One tutor would come once a day. Three classes a day was held for all the servant in the residence. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once in the evening. This gave all the servants a chance to attend at least once class.
Each class held lessons on reading, writing, and sums. Then at night Liu Tián Qǔ taught sign language classes to Zhou Yù, Butler Zhou, Housekeeper Gao, and strange enough when Commander Jiang and his wife heard about the class they came along as well. The other person was Sōng Hé Píng, who was Sōng Shǔ sister.

Although Sōng Hé Píng was still too ill to work her brother Sōng Shǔ insist that she go to class and learn so she will able to communicate with her superior properly. Liu Tián Qǔ had a lot on her plate with getting the residence, and everyone in it settled.
One of Liu Tián Qǔ happiest moments during that period of time was when the peddler finally arrived to delivery her merchandise she purchase from him. Liu Tián Qǔ had detained the peddler to see if he had any Nadelineian wine for sale. Liu Tián Qǔ couldn't find any for sale in the whole of the Imperial City.
Of course, there were private collectors and wealthy families who had some. However, it was for their own personal consumption, not for sale. So Liu Tián Qǔ thought she would have a little luck with the peddler who sold unique items.
Unfortunately, the peddler was an avid drinker of Nadelineian wine. He drank all his stock before he had a chance to sell it. The silver lining in the cloud was that he was a walking talking encyclopedia regarding Nadelineian wine. Liu Tián Qǔ treated the peddler to lunch and spent a whole afternoon picking his brains.
To compensate the peddler for his time. Liu Tián Qǔ went on a shopping spree and purchased more of the peddler's goods. However, during her shopping, spree Liu Tián Qǔ began to realize the usefulness of most of the goods the peddler was selling.
Liu Tián Qǔ also noticed that just about all of the items that the peddler was selling were rare and unique items. Some even seemed a bit priceless to Liu Tián Qǔ. Inwardly it made Liu Tián Qǔ question how the peddler was able to get his hands on the items he sold and how was he able to sell it at such a reasonable price.
However, what Liu Tián Qǔ didn't realize was what she considered a reasonable price, was a fortune to others. There was a vast difference in the value of the gold in the tolling lands. Compare to the 21st Century were Liu Tián Qǔ was from.
Only the extremely prosperous households in the Tolling Lands possessed over three hundred thousand gold. Even the Households that had less than half that amount of gold was considered very wealthy. Of course you had the 1% class that had several million of gold. However, in the Tolling Lands the 1% class was less that 1%.
Liu Tián Qǔ had yet to learn of the value of the gold that was in her possession.
Commoners could live off one gold for many years if they budgeted it correctly. The value of the silver and gold in the Tolling Lands was exceptionally high. The Tolling Lands was an extraordinarily rich country.
Liu Tián Qǔ got serious and really began to do some shopping. She bought so many things from the peddler she used up just about all the money she had on hand. She was really hoping the Emperor would come pay her for Veiled Mountain soon, or she was going to be in trouble.
When Liu Tián Qǔ realized the usefulness of the many things, the peddler was selling. Liu Tián Qǔ couldn't bare to allow them to escape her grasp. The good thing was Liu Tián Qǔ had already given Butler Zhou and Housekeeper Gao a large amount of gold for the residence' daily expenditures. So Liu Tián Qǔ didn't have to worry about the daily expense for the residence.
A very happy smiling peddler left Liu Tián Qǔ residence. Liu Tián Qǔ made sure to tell the peddler that anytime he returned to the Tolling Lands to come see her first so she could have first pick of all the rare, unique, and practically priceless things he was selling. She also told him she would save wine for him. Liu Tián Qǔ gave him a standing invitation to stay in her residence whenever he visited the Tolling Lands.
Liu Tián Qǔ wasn't the only one doing shopping sprees. Over the past several days, Housekeeper Gao had went on a hiring spree. The servants of Liu Tián Qǔ residence now numbered over three hundred and eighty.
