Chapter 57: Pring Jing Pt. 2

Prince Jing was also one of the people to crawl out of the pile of bodies. He was covered in the blood of the warriors who threw their lives away to save him, but he was unharmed.

Gathering the shreds of his dignity around him. Prince Jing said, "I would like to be granted the dignity of death by combat befitting my station." Wang Fèn Yǒng raised an eyebrow and said in an emotionless ice-cold voice, "You lost the royal dignity of a prince when you sneakily crawled into my country to steal what doesn't belong to you. However, mysteriously, you've just now found your royal dignity? Give me a reason why I should waste my energy on you? The results will be the same either way you take it."

Prince Jing took a deep breath he looked around at the Thirty Thousand Dark Blood Warriors, Ten Thousand Shā Qì Warriors, and Ten Thousand Gòu Warriors that surrounded the clearing. He didn't know the count of the warriors. However, as he looked around the clearing, he saw warriors for as far as the eyes could see.

Prince Jing knew that there was no way out, "I have no particular explanation to give to convince you. I'm not a good person, nor did I live a good life. However, I do not wish to die a dog's death being shot down under a volley of arrows and bolts. I ask that you grant me a death wish. I wish to die fighting on my feet with a sword in my hand."

Wang Fèn Yǒng listened uninterestedly to Prince Jing's explanation, which he considered a waste of time. He had absolutely no intention of wasting his time fighting the Prince of Jing. He should have already been back on the road instead of waiting for the sneaky coward of a prince to crawl out of the pile of bodies.

However, for some odd reason when the Prince of Jing said, "I'm not a good person nor did I live a good life." he heard the echos of Liu Tián Qǔ's voice saying, "I am not a good person. I just believe in honoring a friend's true heart."

With an indescribable look in his eyes, to the surprise of every warrior there and Prince Jing himself, Wang Fèn Yǒng said, "I will grant you death by my sword."

Unsheathing his sword, Wang Fèn Yǒng fell into a sword ready stance leading off with his right foot. He held the sword low in a doubled hand reverse grip. The warriors fell back to give the fighters space to maneuver. Prince Jing bent down and retrieved the sword of a fallen warrior who died protecting him.

"Whenever you are ready." Wang Fèn Yǒng coldly said. Wang Fèn Yǒng wanted to hurry up and put Prince Jing down so he could get back on the road to Leandore. He had already decided not to waste time in a long, drawn-out fight.

A short time later, Wang Fèn Yǒng and Prince Jing faced off against each other. When they were ready, a Dark Blood Warrior called out "time," which brought both fighters charging towards each other.

Or rather it should be said that the Prince of Jing charged forward and Wang Fèn Yǒng flew forward like an arrow released from a bow. He flew past Prince Jing with a flick of his sword. Prince Jing's charge turned into a lumbering stagger as Wang Fèn Yǒng flew past him. Wang Fèn Yǒng came to a stop several feet away. Prince Jing's body lumbered forward a couple more steps before his body crumbled to the ground.

As Prince Jing fell to his knees, blood poured from his neck. Prince Jing's body then collapsed to the ground. Many of the warriors noticed how his head sat at an awkward angle on his neck. Wang Fèn Yǒng cut so deeply into Prince Jing's neck in the one simple-looking slash as he flew by, that he almost decapitated Prince Jing's head from his body.

Wang Fèn Yǒng wiped Prince Jing's blood from his sword using a cloth that a warrior walked over and passed to him. After cleaning the blood from his sword, he sheathed it. Without further ado, he began issuing orders. The other four warriors that crawled out of the pile of bodies were also relieved of their heads.

After confirming everyone was dead, Wang Fèn Yǒng assigned a team of warriors to bury the bodies and escort the wagon back to the Imperial City. He also dispersed the unit of Shadow Dragoon Elites of the Shadow Warriors that shadowed Prince Jing. With that, he immediately got back on the road to continue on to Leandore. He was in a hurry to get there and secure the garrison before the Emperor arrived.
