Guest’s author corner: I was supposed to say that the Author is feeling sorry for the delay in updates and that he sincerely regrets having suddenly disappeared. According to him, there were some serious things going at his house so he couldn’t find time to write…
Truth to be told, he was just binge-reading Light novels and got a bit too distracted with them… And now have others ideas roaming around his head that aren’t letting him write anything else.
He’s almost as irresponsible as Gon… TO think that sucha person could exist…
Anyway, while he manage to get his focus back, I decided to make one more entry for this side-story, even though he didn’t give me the cookies he promised me. So, while I go and hunt the fleeing author, I hope you can enjoy my side of the story!

For quite some time, I spent my hours simply watching as Gon went around training the Japanese girl on the way of videogames. It was a pretty entertaining sight, as some times he would change into a perfect example of a teacher, and others he would go back to the foolish character he actually was.
Time went on and the improbable duo finally went on to hunt the lynxes that Gon had been wanting to get since some time ago.
It was an interesting sight, as Gon spent his time watching and learning about the cats, fighting them in a way completely different from how the other players had been doing earlier. Not that he had much choice, since his gear made it mathematically impossible for him to sustain himself against a drawn out battle against the felines and his only partner was a level one mage.
Yet, surprising me, he actually managed to beat it, not by going on a direct bout, but by working around with defensive maneuvers and counter attacks. I was sincerely surprised with his results, since the very reason such lynxes were there was that so players could learn that the game isn’t as simple as other RPGS.
It was probably his strange obsession with his other game, Monster Hunter, that made him succeed in those hunts, since from what I saw on my research, his hunting style seemed to match the basic style for that game.
Maybe I should have taken in account that kind of hunting style while I was making the basic programming…
As I watched the duo go on their adventures and start to fiddle around with elemental crystals, I couldn’t help but smile awkwardly at how easily he started to work around with them. I half expected that only higher leveled players would actually start to find out their uses, due to how weak their base effects were.
Another thing that caught my attention was the face that the girl, Yuu, made whenever Gon would pet her. I couldn’t help but wonder, does such type of physical contact really give such a pleasurable reaction?
Wondering to myself, I even created a second body and tried petting myself, but…
It was surprisingly boring… Even though I was supposed to have perfectly replicated the sense of touch perfectly…
Dismissing my copy, I once again went on to do my work, all the while watching Gon go around hunting and doing his things. Not after much time passed, they finished the quest and Gon made his way to the village, where he left the girl with her friend before logging out. I didn’t really interrupt him this time since I didn’t have much I needed to talk with him, so I let him go.
But, I felt a bit like fooling with him when he came back, so I quickly brought up the character creation menu and started to fiddle around with my avatar in here, changing it into a golem and making some finer alteration. By the time I felt satisfied with the changes, I noticed Gon had already entered the character selection screen and was about to enter the game.
I quickly transported myself in a flashy way and watched as he stared surprised for some time. I found his reaction fairly amusing, so I kept watching him for some time.
“So, How do I look?” I asked, feeling a bit mischievous.
“You… Kind of look like one of those god’s statues you see in temples…” He replied with an amused tone. I smiled a bit proudly and said.
“Well, I AM a goddess!”
“Really? I have my doubts…” Muu, why can’t he be nice to me for a change? Seeing him smiling triumphantly didn’t exactly help either, so I turned away from him in anger. “So… I had promised to show you the stories I wrote… Right?”
I blinked at his sudden embarrassed words before turning to him excited and blinked myself closer to him, grabbing him by the armor and clinging to him. I’ve always liked reading the stories that the humans write, and having the chance of reading one from the few people I actually knew was a brand new experience.
“WHERE? WHERE? WHERE?” I asked him excited.
“I put them in a USB plugged to the console… I guess you can access them this way, right?” He said, and the moment he mentioned USB I had already brought up a window and was checking the amount of stories he had brought.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
There were surprisingly many stories in there. Most of which sadly were only a few pages long, but some older ones that were surprisingly long, and others that had three or four copies for some reason.
I couldn’t help but get excited at the sight, since there was a lot more than what I expected. Picking one that had an interesting title, I immediately put myself to read it.
I think it’s worth mentioning, but I could simply upload everything to my memory, and that’s what I usually did when it came to reading textbooks about physics and chemistry so that I could copy them in-game, and even did it with some of the first stories I read. But then, my parents recommended me to try and read a book just like a human does, word by word at a set speed.
It gives a completely new tension feeling when you don’t know everything about the story right away, so ever since, this is the method I’ve been using.
As I distractedly started to read the story in front of me, Gon cleared his throat.
“So, why the sudden change in appearance?” He asked me curious. Noticing how I had completely ignored him, I became slightly embarrassed and said.
“Muu… It’s because you gave me that idea of playing the game myself… So even if I weren’t going to play myself, I kind of wanted to see how I would look like if I were to be of each race…” That and I kind of felt like seeing your reactions. “And when I saw you logging in, I decided to choose golem just like you!” I made a story on the spot before putting myself besides him and making a mirror object materialize in front of us.
Reflected on the smooth surface, were both of us, with the taller Gon wearing some basic adventuring gear while the shorter me had an almost noble-looking appearance, with my crystal dress. I couldn’t help but for a moment remind myself of a couple while looking, with me being a noble girl and Gon being an adventurer.
But I foresaw that saying that could cause some misunderstanding and leave things awkward between us, so I decided a milder approach.
“Look, doesn’t it look like I am your sister this way?” I said while turning and looking up to him.
He simply stared at me in shock for a moment. I started to feel a bit awkward for a moment, as well as anxious, wondering how he would reply.
But what he said wasn’t exactly what I was expecting.
“Cyg, could I ask you for a favor?” I blinked, noticing that it seemed something serious.
Basically, what he had asked me was so that I could help his father and sister once they logged in game for the first time. Since it wasn’t anything too complex and there was already a project on the works to deal with that specifically, I thought it wouldn’t be a big problem and accepted.
After arranging the details with him, I sent him off to the world and waiting to see what would happen once he went back to adventuring.
Still, I felt a bit sad that he didn’t comment honestly on my appearance…
While wondering why was that, I decided to simply go back to doing what I was doing earlier. Fixing bugs found by players, reading the story Gon just brought me and watching said Gon as he fooled around.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for him to do something interesting, as I saw a notification telling me that he had just received a mythical quest from Wallace, the leather worker. Surprised, I quickly checked the details and couldn’t help but be amazed.
He managed to get such an incredible quest so early, it was difficult not to be impressed.
Being honest, it wasn’t the first mythical quest someone took, and in truth, two others had already been found. But when it happens to someone you know, the feeling is almost entirely different, so I felt a bit elated at that.
Still, it would take a good time before he could even dream of completing this quest. Truly going way over the top, a very Gon-like thing to happen.
Giggling silently to myself, I was convinced that nothing more amusing would happen so soon, so I put my focus back on reading the amusing story he brought me.
I sincerely underestimated Gon’s capacity of getting into trouble, because not even ten minutes later he was flung into the air by the leatherworker while he sang I believe I can fly at the top of his lungs.
I spent a few seconds laughing before I finally recovered.
