Chapter 6.5 - Dawn of a legend

Author’s corner: HELLO HELLO, AGAIN! Think of this as a small compensation for not having updated anything yesterday.

ANYWAY, I think I might keep writing chapters like this from time to time to show what other people think about the main character...

ALSO, I had a lot of fun with this, since it’s much simpler than the usual chapters that I fill with details and tables. Have a good read, and I hope to see you guys tomorrow!

Smallmighty, the user had created this character as a joke, choosing the fairies that were ridiculously small and then donning it with heavy armor and a huge (for him) sword. He hadn’t really expected much after he finished creating his character, not really believing the game would be so realistic as they always said.

But boy, had he been wrong!

As soon as he was transported to the beginning village, he was awestruck with how real everything seemed, unable to believe his eyes. In fact, he wasn’t the only one who could only stare in disbelief.

It was only when he first looked at his hand followed by the wings in his back that everything finally sunk in.

He couldn’t help but shout in excitement.

“SO FREAKING COOL!”

Without even waiting for the others, the small fairy started to fly forwards in the direction of an innocent rabbit. At that moment he couldn’t care less about how his character was a joke, or about quests, items and exp., not even the laughs of the other players behind him mattered. All he wanted was to see how much more real this game could get.

As he got closer and closer to the rabbit, he noticed for the first time how small he really was, as the small animal was big enough for him to use as a mount. But this only served for him to become even more motivated.

He took out the huge sword from his back and swung it with all his body, hitting the rabbit right in the middle of its head.

By the gods! He could feel the sword passing through the rabbit, even a slight dull feeling when it got stuck on the ground for a moment.

He tried to immediately take it out, but finally noticed the real weight behind it as it moved painfully slow.

But even that small annoyance served to make him even more excited. In mere a few seconds of logging on the game, he was already completely immersed in it.

Much to his surprise, the rabbit actually counter attacked, by lunging at him and biting his chest, sending a sense of pain down his body.

A wide smile appeared on his face, he finally had lifted his blade from the ground, so he swung it horizontally, cleaving the poor rabbit in half.

For a moment, he breathed in and out heavily, still excited, and soon a window appeared in front of him, telling how to get the loot. After quickly looting away, he ran to the next rabbit, and then the next, and the one after. Soon enough, he arrived at a huge (for him) tree, and saw a squirrel up there. Willing himself upwards, his wings started beating as he flew up to the rodent, and soon the squirrels were also added to his hunting list.

By now, all the players around had been awestruck at the speed and ferocity that the little fairy was hunting the animals, and soon enough, a party invite reached Mighty.

After entering the party, with a cloth-and-staff celestial called Healz4free, knifes-and-plate dwarf known as Platepoker222, and a spear-and-leather Djinn going by Dargoon, his hunting speed shot up like mad, and quickly they were exterminating all the animals in the area.

Soon, all of them reached level 4 while the others were barely level 2, and the rabbits and squirrels’ experience had become pretty much insignificant, Dargoon decided to spread the party to look for a new hunting ground, Mighty being responsible for checking the area behind the village.

He happily went to his designate area, and as soon as he got there, he was delighted, as he found many lvl 5 passive wild dogs, perfect for his team.

However, before he could report to Dargoon, he caught a sight that would be forever engraved in his memory.

His sight landed on a golem player who stood right besides a dog that was standing still. For him, who had just got there at that moment, but had seen that the dogs were passive mobs, it looked like the battle was about to begin.

And sure enough the player slashed once at the dog and then kicked it away.

Mighty knew that he and his team were, right now, the strongest in the area, having reached level four and already changed many of their gears with drops from the rabbits and squirrel. Still, they are all basic equipment, but were far better than the starting gear they had.

As such, he prepared to rush towards the player to save him if it was needed, but the battle didn’t occur like he had expected.

The dog started to cautiously circle the player, looking wary of him, as if the player was far stronger than it, but in the end it still charged at the golem.

However, the golem simply crouched behind his shield and waited for the dog.

The dog jumped at him, however the golem skillfully swung his shield upwards, launching the dog in the air, and just as the dog started to fall down, he pushed his sword upwards, piercing the belly of the dog in one single strike.

Mighty was already shocked at the scene, but the worst still had to come.

The golem started to laugh. A laugh so strange, and loud, filled with unspeakable madness and insanity. The green glowing eyes of the golem suddenly instilling an unknown sense of fear in him.

Then, the golem swung his sword, letting the dog slide away from it towards the ground.

Yet, the dog didn’t move. It was dead.

The golem had killed the dog. In one. Single. Attack!

And yet, he didn’t seem to care about the loot, as he simply laughed away, before going to the body and stepped on its head then looked in the direction of the village. He opened his arms, as if taunting the fairy, and shouted something.

Mighty was far too surprised and scared at the scene to even understand what the golem had said, and there was no way he would stand there to find out.

That attack had killed a mob with 190 health points in one single strike! What kind of equipment and level did that golem have? And what he wanted of him?

All that Mighty could do at that moment was run. Run away from that golem and hope to never again cross his path.

When he finally found his team, he told them of what he had seem, of the madness of the golem, and how he had defeated the dog.

From there, the news spread to all other players, giving them a strange fear of the golem, and thus, no one else dared to approach the wild dogs area.

That day, the legend of Green-eyes, the brutal, was born in Insania Online.
