Dean took a deep satisfied breath as he tugged his fishing rod that had been pulling furiously for quite some time now. Thanks to the crystal clear water, he could see that the fish he got was fairly big, even if it wasn’t the one that he needed for the quest. However, from the size alone he knew that selling it to the fisherman would grant him quite the coin, so it wasn’t all that bad.

After getting the fish out of the water and throwing it into a bucket, the mantidire went ahead to clean the sweat out of his eyebrows, but almost cut himself thanks to the blades on the outer side of his forearm, courtesy from his species.

Smiling a bit awkwardly at that, he was playing with this character for so long, yet he kept always getting close to commit the same mistake! The shaman once again took his fishing rod, attached a new bait to the hook and threw it on the river before sitting on the ground once again as he read the book he had taken some time ago.

He had become so absorbed in the book that he almost missed when something large passed in front of his fishing rod. Lifting his head surprised just in time to see as the hook dug deeply into the huge chunk of floating ice and pulled the rod away. The mantidire quickly lifted himself while running after the fishing rod, holding it as the ice tried to pull him into the water together with it.

Grimacing at that, he quickly cast an earth enhancement spell on himself, increasing his strength so that he could pull the rod back. However, just as the hook was about to break, he noticed something.

There was a person tied on the top of the ice!

Changing his method, he quickly cancelled the earth enhancement and put a wind enhancement on himself. He ran forwards while praying for the spirit of the river to help him with this rescue. Thankfully, this river, even if stubborn, at least was helpful, and he saw as the ice-block slowly redirected itself towards the riverside.

Dean, also known as Skyfiend, kept true to his name and leaped towards the ice, landing his large battle-axe on it and sinking the blade deeply before he pulled the ice chunk back to the ground and out of the river.

He briefly thanked the spirit of the river, who ignored the shaman as it let its streams once again flow freely.

“What happened?” The mantidire asked as he untied the cyclops’ gag.

“That golem… bastard…” The cyclops said between breaths as he dragged himself out from the ice and onto the ground.

“A golem? He did this to you?” Skyfiedn asked, his insectoid face contorting into a look of surprise. The cyclops turned to him, letting its large belly heave up and down as he laid on his back.

“Yeah… Bloody green-eyed golem. Bastard.” He said angrily.

“Green eyed… Golem?” The mantidire asked surprised.

If his memory didn’t fail him, some time ago there were rumors of a dangerous golem player with green eyes and a dangerous temper. It… couldn’t be, right?

“Yeah… The bastard!” The cyclops said while slowly putting himself back up. “And to think that even Lock4Hire couldn’t stop him.”

“Wait… Isn’t that the strongest warlock in Eldor?” Skyfiend asked surprised.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

If Green-eyes was a myth around the forum boards, Lock4hire was a living legend, with videos posted and so on. Even if Dean didn’t consider himself a forum-rat, he still knew about the warlock. That was how famous he was.

And now, this cyclops was saying that he plus said warlock together were unable to beat a single golem? Just… How strong could he be. As he thought that, he looked upriver, looking for any signs of said golem approaching then, but nothing came into his view.

However, as he thought about it, where did the ice come from? He thought while turning back to the huge ice chunk that slowly melted away. From what he knew, the golem was either a warrior or a tamer. Yet this large chunk of ice was clearly done by an expert mage! It didn’t add up to anything he had heard about him before.

“That bastard golem… I swear that I will kill him next time we meet.” The cyclops said angrily as he clenched his fists.

“Wait, if that’s the golem I think it is, it’s better if you don’t go close to him!” The mantidire said worried for the cyclops.

“Stay away from him?” The cyclops shouted angrily. “Do you have any idea what the bastard did to me? What kind of suffering I’ve been through thanks to him?” The cyclops shouted at the mantidire. “I’ve once been the boss, you know? Now I’m freaking nothing! I’ve. Lost. Everything.” He said angrily  while pounding his large hand into the ice.

“Look… Calm down, okay?” Dean said while taking a step back from the angry cyclops. “I have no idea what he made to you, but it may be better for you to calm down okay?” He said with a nervous smile, starting to wonder if it was a good idea to save the cyclops.

“What he did to me?” The cyclops asked angrily. “He blinded me. FIVE TIMES. Everything that I had, he took away from me. All my subordinates abandoned me. All my gear are gone. Do you have any idea on what it means?”

Skyfiend blinked surprised. He could have understood if the cyclops had been killed once or twice by the golem, but from the way he spoke, it almost seems like the golem had been hunting out for him. What could this mean?

Could it have something to do with the fact that he had found the Cyclops tied atop a piece of ice? He couldn’t be quite sure. Then, the fact that there was a throwing knife stuck on it also made it look strange.

“Look, there’s a village nearby, so why don’t we go there and you take some time to recover?” He said to the cyclops while pointing towards the path. The cyclops stared at him for a moment before sighing loudly.

“Yeah… I can’t get him in a frontal assault…” The cyclops said angrily, while giving an evil eye towards knive. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed the knife in anger. “I will still get you, you freakish golem!” He said while raising his arm to the sky and crushing the dagger in his hand. “OR ELSE MY NAME ISN’T… GAAH! MY EYE! NOT AGAIN!” His battle shout changed into a cry of anguish as the flash-bomb dagger blew into his hand, blinding him once again.

And as Dean waited for his vision to come back, he couldn’t help but feel intrigued about this Green-eyes he had heard so much in the earlier days.

After so many days without a single notice from him, he suddenly appears with this cyclops as a victim. What could he be plotting for now.

And when the mantidire and the cyclops arrived at the village, the legend on how Green-eyes defeated the strongest warlock around, Lock4hire using only words started to spread around with a scary speed. And thus, the legend grew once more.
