Author’s corner: HELLO HELLO! Let’s bring a close to this arc so we can begin the great voyage!
ANYWAY, this was a chapter that came relatively early compared to the others, besides being surprisingly fun to write to the end. Still, I’ll take this leave so that I can go back to updating Reinstall for the next few days.
ALSO, I’ve been having fun writing my other story, even if it is largely different from my usual silly stories. Maybe I might upload it here?
Have a good read!

“It’s open. Come in!” I said without raising myself from where I was.
“Hey Gon, where’s Yuu…” Mary said as she entered the room, but she froze once she saw the scene. “…What?”
“Yo!” I said while raising one of my hands.
“So you are going after her body.” Maya said with a nod.
“Stop distorting things. It’s nowhere near as bad as that.” I said while staring at her.
“Well… It’s still quite… Curious.” Hanbei said. “Mind explaining?”
“Well…” I said while looking back at Yuu who was sleeping in the couch behind me.
The thing was, when we got back to the apartment, Yuu was sleeping soundly in the taxi. I thought about trying to wake her up, and even got to nudging her a few times to try and wake her up, but all that happened was that she ended up falling with her head on my shoulder.
Well, not that I was all that unhappy about the situation, however I still had to take her out of the taxi, as we had arrived at our destination. Since it looked like she wasn’t about to wake up any time soon, I decided that I would have to carry her to her house somehow.
Paying the driver for the fare, I left the car and turned back so that I could pick Yuu up. Luckily, there weren’t many people around to see the scene, so except for the gatekeeper, no one saw the embarrassing scene of my giving Yuu a princess carry.
She was surprisingly light, and that’s saying something, since most of my strength come from my body build, and not from bodybuilding… If this makes any sense.
Still, even if she wasn’t that heavy, she still weighted a bit, and being the antisocial person I am, my stamina wouldn’t last all that long, so I had to hurriedly make my way to the elevator.
I was a bit worried that my steps might end up waking Yuu up, and she did end up squirming a bit, but thankfully she didn’t wake up. Instead, she adjusted herself in my arms and hugged my neck. Shocked for a moment, I stared at her, but she simply smiled while nudging closer to me.
Well, it would be better to not think too much into it.
Then, I noticed that I had a small problem. I didn’t have the keys to her house, neither did I have an idea on where she put hers. Having no idea when Mary and Maya would arrive didn’t leave me much options either, so I went with simply leaving her at my house for the time being.
Somehow I managed to pick my keys from my pockets and open the door before closing it with my feet. Approaching my sofa, I gently lowered Yuu into it before letting go of her.
But then, I met a small problem…
“She wouldn’t let go.” I said, finalizing my tale.
“… Are you kidding?” Mary asked me with doubt in her voice.
“Nope. Not even one bit.” I said with a smile.
As I said, Yuu didn’t let go of me even after I put her down. And I even tried to squirm my way out of her grasp, but…
She’s strong. Really strong.
Well, it’s not like she was suffocating me, in fact, she was only holding me enough so that I wouldn’t be able to move away from her. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t make her spread her arms enough for me to slip away, and after some time of trying to get away, Yuu murmured something in Japanese and suddenly pulled me closer while tightening her grip.
In the end I gave up and simply sat down besides the couch while Yuu hugged my head. It wasn’t a very comfortable position, but there wasn’t much I could do, so I took out my portable and started playing while waiting for Mary and Maya to arrive.
“And why didn’t you try to wake her up then?” Mary asked me surprised.
“One, I tried. Two, I didn’t have courage to try harder and wake her up when she’s like this.” I said while pointing towards Yuu, who had a small smile while sleeping.
“That’s actually a very good point.” Maya said while nodding, but Mary simply sighed.
“Here, let me wake her…” She said while approaching Yuu. She crouched besides her friend and murmured something in he ears.
Yuu blinked awake for some time and looked around in a daze, murmuring some things In Japanese with a confused tone. She looked at the room with a clear frown in her face before turning towards me.
“Good morning sleepy head.” I told her as she looked at me.
“Shishou?” She asked while tilting her head, and she stayed like that until she noticed that she was holding me, then she widened her eyes and pulled back while releasing me and blushing. “Waah… I’m…”
“So, Yukihime-dono is a hugger…” Maya said while taking her cellphone and typing something on it. “Good to know… Good to know…”
“Chi-Chigau!” Yuu said embarrassedly in Japanese.
“Geez, Yuu-chan. I never thought you would be so aggressive…” Mary shook her head as if caught by surprise.
“Waah…” Yuu became even more embarrassed than before, and even shrunk in a corner of the sofa with teary eyes.
We laughed at her for a bit longer while I sat besides her and started petting her in consolation. It took some time, but she finally calmed down to the point that she started to yawn again. Seeing this, she and the others decided to stop for the day there, as the jet-lag started to hit them hard. Taking the stuffed toy she bought for herself, Yuu soon followed the girls back to their house.
However, before they could leave for good, Yuu stopped and turned back to me.
“Shishou. Where’s the tiara you bought me?” Yuu asked me, and I saw as Mary and Maya flinched at her words.
“Huh…” I looked away for a moment, but seeing that she was looking at me intensively, I sighed and took out the fox ears I bought from my bag and gave it to her. “Sorry…” I said guilty.
“Huh? For what?” Yuu asked while she took the accessory.
“Err… For making you use that?” I said shyly, but she simply tilted her head confused. “Huh… Aren’t you angry that I made you use that during out stay at the mall?”
“Why would I be?” Yuu asked me confused.
“Huh… Because its embarrassing?” I said not knowing how she would react. “I mean, we made you use that without telling you knowing…”
“Hmm?” She still looked confused, but then widened her eyes. “Oh, the ears?” She asked and I nodded. “I did know about it.” She said with a smile.
“Huh? How did you notice?” Mary asked confused.
“I saw in one of the shopping windows while we were taking photos.” She said with a smile. “And since Shishou and the others liked it, I didn’t think that I needed to take it out.”
Suddenly, Maya, Mary and me felt like a bunch of fools for thinking that Yuu had no idea of what was happening. Thankfully, Yuu didn’t seem to be all that bothered about it, so we reached an unanimous decision of making sure to be more careful next time.
With that, they finally left to go back to their house, leaving me alone in my own for quite some time. I yawned loudly, feeling tired from all that had happened today, but since I still felt that it was too early, I decided to fiddle around with my pc.
However, the moment I sat in front of it, my cellphone buzzed in my pocket.
“Gon! Access your D-lute! There’s a surprise waiting for you!” Cyg said cheerfully.
I raised an eyebrow at that, but nodded nonetheless and quickly put myself up and walked to my bed. I put on the D-lute and turned it on. Well, Cyg only told me to access the D-lute, so it wasn’t necessarily that I needed to log on Insania.
But it’s not like I had anything else to use on my D-lute, so why the hell not. I guess I could at least reach the city before going to sleep.
Soon, my vision blacked out and I felt as my consciousness was pulled into the virtual space. Seeing the blackness that preceded the login button, I looked around waiting for something that I would find different from usual, but nothing happened.
Or so I thought, until I felt something hitting me on my back and making me fall face-first into the ground. Feeling a bit dizzy, I soon raised myself and looked for what did that to me.
I met fluffiness.
“Aura?” I asked confused while holding the small fox in my arms. She was back to her old passive pet form. The fox stared at me in confusion for a moment, and I understood why. Since I still haven’t logged in, I was still in my human form. “It’s me, Gon.” I said while petting her. This seemed to convince her, because she closed her eyes and cuddled closer to me.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I asked her confused, but she didn’t seem all that interested in speaking, because she simply cuddled even closer to me with her three tails wagging cheerfully from one side to the other.
Seeing that I wasn’t going to get an answer from her, I decided to go on and start press the login button already.
The world changed into a white one and took me and Aura to the character selection, where we found Cyg standing there with her crystalline body and a victorious smile stamped in her face. Raising my eyebrows, I picked Aura up and made my way to her.
“Explanations are appreciated.” I said with a curious tone.
“Well…” Cyg cleared her throat. “You know how I’ve been working on your cellphone recently? I decided that I could try to do something like that for Aura too, seeing that she feels a bit lonely when you aren’t nearby.” She said with a happy smile. “For now, I’ve managed to patch her up to have access to your D-lute whenever you log in as long as you have internet access.”
“Heh… Was it difficult for you to take so long?” I asked, but she shook her head.
“Nope. That was actually the easy part.” She said with a sigh. “The basic systems are pretty much the same, so it wasn’t troublesome. The next part will probably be more difficult.”
“Next part?” I asked confused. “What more do you plan on doing?” I looked to the small fox who was cheerfully resting within my arms.
“I actually plan on also giving her access to other applications with Insania App, like cellphones, tablets and computer. If you want, of course.”
“I wouldn’t mind… But why would you do that?” I asked a bit confused.
“This way she can also assist you with other things or maybe simply stay with you for a little longer.” She said with a sigh. “She’s really attached to you, you know?”
“Yeah, I kind of noticed…” I said with a wry smile. “So, what’s exactly is so difficult about it compared to patching her to the D-lute?”
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
“Well, initially, the operational system is completely different, second, she, and the others inside the game, are not exactly ready for being hosted by any computing system…” Seeing me confused, Cyg sighed and explained. “It’s a matter of preparation, you see. They are modeled to be something along the lines of being as close to living being as possible. Normal computers can’t simulate that kind of neural network, so I have to prepare a program that allows her to be processed on the main server while still being hosted on our computer, and that’s a bit more complex than what you would think.”
“I have almost no idea what most of it meant, but I can guess that’s pretty much Insanely difficult.” I said with a serious face, and Cyg laughed a bit. “Geez, halfway I was almost expecting you to tell me that you are putting Aura in a robot and sending her here.” I said in a worried tone.
At my words, Cyg started laughing at my joke with me, even Aura followed us, but once she calmed down she got a pensive face before starting to smile widely.
“That…”
“That was a joke.” I interrupted her.
“I know!” Cyg said while smiling happily “But, the interactions of a simulated Intelligence on the physical world are still unknown! This could lead to some really good data unlike anything we have ever seen! It would be worth the cost it even if only for the data!”
“Are you serious?” I asked shocked, and she nodded. “I said that as a joke, you know. It wasn’t supposed to inspire you into some kind of research idea! Besides, why don’t you do it with something at your headquarters?” I asked confused.
“Because you are already helping us a lot, so we know we can trust you.” She said with a smile. “Besides, you and Aura are already very close to each other, and I think that it might be favorable to the data gathering.”
“I see…” I said while scratching my head. “If you are fine with it I guess?” I said while looking towards Aura, who was pressing her forehead against my hand, looking especially clingy today. Not that I minded, though. I kind of missed her small body.
“Yay!” Cyg said while jumping cheerfully. I sighed awkwardly once again.
“Well, let’s get going to the game then?” I said with a sigh.
“Let’s!”
“Leave it to me!” And with that, we logged in a pillar of light.
Well, it wasn’t exactly a good idea to do that immediately, after all, Cyg wouldn’t simply leave Aura with her passive body when we logged in. So the freezing tail started growing in my arms and soon became way heavier than what I was ready for and I fell back on the ground with her atop of me.
I raised my head towards Aura, who lazily leaned her head against my chest with a strangely mischievous look into her eyes. I tried to squirm my way out from beneath her, but it didn’t work out very well, as she simply took a step forward and once again put her head on my chest.
“Okay… Something is weird. What happened?” I asked Crys who floated her way to atop of Aura’s neck.
“Well… That is partly my fault…” She said with an apologetic smile.
“What do you mean?” I asked confused.
“Well… While we were testing the connection, I had to accelerate the time passage for us… So for her it actually feel like a few months since the last time she saw you.” I blinked surprised for a moment before sighing loudly.
“That’s the kind of thing you tell without needing me to ask you to.” I told her with an slightly annoyed tone.
Well, if it was like that it would explain the reason for her excessive clinginess. So I decided to humor her a bit and started petting her. Closing her eyes in delight and wagging her tail happiness. After pleasing her enough, I somehow convinced the freezing tail to move away from me so that I could get up.
She immediately got closer to me when we were standing up, so I let my hand resting on her neck as we walked towards the city. Well, walking because we didn’t really see all that much need to rush as we already had crossed most of the way towards the city, and according to Cyg, even taking our time, we would still reach it in a couple of hours.
This made Aura extra happy, since she kept herself against my leg the whole way towards the city.
Even when we stopped to have something to eat, she refused to let me stop petting her, so I had to somehow manage to eat only with one hand. Which wasn’t all that difficult, as Crys helped me by holding the plate up and preparing something I could eat with only a spoon.
We reached the city in five hours after leaving our starting point. A bit more than the initial estimative from earlier, but it was enough for us.
Seeing the hustle and bustle of the city made me feel a bit excited about returning to this place, so I immediately made my way to the place that Lieutenant and Rio were. Walking through the streets until we reached the main elevator, we quickly raised up towards the commercial sector and took some of the secondary elevators to reach Sol’s floor.
It didn’t take long for us to find the store, the eerie blue glow from the first time I came here back.
Passing through the door without a second thought, I quickly passed through the doors and just before we reached the inner workshop, I heard something.
“Nyaa-ny. Nyaanananyaa nanyyyy nyanyanya. Narynyaaa nynynynaaa.” I heard Lieutenant speaking
“““Sir, yes sir!””” Three voices answered.
“NYAAAAA!”
“““SIR, YES SIR!””” They answered louder.
Looking at Crys and Aura, both who were confused, we quickly entered the room, where we saw the usual out of place bed within the middle of the laboratory. But what really surprised us was the scene playing in front of us.
Lieutenant was standing on the bed while walking from one side to the other with his front paws crossed on his back. Not something very different from the usual, of course. The funny part was the others who were kneeling on the bed in front of him..
From left to the right, we had a white scaled dog size wyvern who was standing up while lifting her right wing in a way that it crossed right above her eyes, as if she was making a salute. For some reason she looked really cheerful.
The second person was our certified half elf half shade loli-baba with light blue hair and wearing her usual nightgown. She had a look of depression in her face.
The third was a white haired barbarian that I had never seen before, with large beard that was still wet from his last drink. Well, even if I had never seen him before, its not like I didn’t know who he was. He had a face of someone holding back his laugh.
“…What is happening here?” Crys asked confused, and I nodded in accordance, aslo feeling confused.
Hearing us, the quartet turned to me with a surprised face.
“Ah, Gon.” Sol said with a depressed voice. “I should have learned to not judge a cat for his fur.” She said with a depressed voice.
“If it isn’t the little golem!” The barbarian said with a laugh. “It’s good to see you again! And sadly I didn’t get my revenge yet!”
“Stone-man! Lieutenant is teaching me about soldiers!” Rio said cheerfully.
“… So you guys lost to Lieutenant in poker?” I asked, and Sol and the Barbarian nodded. “Why am I not surprised?” I asked while scratching my head. “Why don’t you go and challenge Whisi for a duel anyway?”
“Nyaaa-na-na-ny.”
“So she wasn’t at the guild, huh?” I asked while scratching my head.
“Who is this Whisi you speak about?” The barbarian asked curious.
“It’s Lieutenant’s rival in poker. The only one who can actually win against him. At least as far as I know.” I said with a shrug.
“So there’s still another one out there with such skills?” The barbarian said while fiddling with his beard. “I really need to step up my game. These youngsters are leaving me behind.”
“Okay, I give up.” Sol said after some time. “How the hell do you know Bul-kathos, and how the hell did you meet Rio? She’s a greater wyvern for Cygnas sake!”
“Oh…” I knew it was him! Seriously, the face may have changed, but the feeling is still the same. “Well, Bul I met when I helped him with recovering some cryrstals…” I said briefly. “Rio, on the other hand, I met recently after I convinced her mother to do backflips and work on a farm.”
Sol and Bul-khatos stared at me for a moment as they processed the information that I just spewed out. Then the two looked towards the little wyvern with a questioning look, and Rio nodded.
“Doing backflips is difficult. But mother learned in two days! She’s amazing!” Rio said cheerfully.
The two’s reaction to her words were polar opposite. Bul-kathos burst out laughing loudly while hitting the bed. Meanwhile, Sol fell to her knees while shaking her head from one side to the other, unable to believe what she had heard.
“You… Must really be loved by the god of chaos…” Sol said in defeat.
“Actually, I left him confused to tell the truth…” I said while scratching my cheek, and saw as she stared at me In confusion for quite some time before giving up.
“Aah! I don’t care anymore! Nothing you do will surprise me from now on!” She said while shouting to the skies.
I laughed a bit more while lowering my hand to Aura who was once again pestering me for some petting.
“Well, anyway, I came more to check on Lieutenant and Rio, so I’ll leave them with you for some more time, is that fine?” I asked and she nodded helpessly.
Deciding to call it a day and take a good nap, I left the store with Aura and Crys and pulled up the menu, choosing the log out option.
I saw as the countdown slowly made its way to zero, but when it reached five, a window popped up in my vision.
