Chapter 181- Give Up and Give In

“Kronos just killed Zeus permanently, I feel his energy dissipating”.

Asami raised an eyebrow as she put one hand on her hip.

“Who”?

Shinji walked over towards the two of them as his eyes lit up.

“Asami, how do you not know who Zeus is? You were just talking about him before”.

Apollo’s eyes were shining with a gleam as he stared at Shinji.

“Human, how in Gaia’s Green Earth did you manage to keep your memories intact? Kronos’s death touch should’ve wiped out your memories of whoever he deletes”.

“Well I’m special, I’m the strongest human in existence that can even rival the Gods”.

Apollo’s eyes widened, as his brows furrowed.

“What the hell did you say you mere human”?

“You heard what I said”.

Shinji replied in a cocky tone.

Asami clicked her tongue as she stopped Shinji again.

“Stop being so immature and rude, we’re here to work with them, not fight our allies”.

“Asami, when are we going to be engaged for battle”?

Musashi walked forwards, his long canine teeth glinting in the bright lights, his black hair absorbing the light while his white skin bounced it off.

His hand was flaking like it was peeling off like a dried up cracker.

Asami sighed once more, it was like a daycare, taking care of these big fat children was tiring her mental and doing this only a few weeks after the entire ordeal with Nakamura was definitely going to leave a mark on her mentally.

“Soon, you’ll have your time to shine soon”.

“Why not now”?

Y’know what? If you want a fight right now I’ll get you one”.

Asami started to grit her teeth, she had lost her temper, she stood on top of a wooden chair, as she clapped her hands to silence the noisy crowd.

“Shinji go find a wandering God, all of you follow his lead”.

The crowd of S and A ranks began to scream violently.

“Why the hell should we follow a Japanese”!!

“I’m stronger than whoever he is”!

“Square up, he can’t beat me”!

“You fucking dirty Japanese! We’re only helping you because our Government demanded it”!!

“Who the hell is that”!?

Asami’s ears began to ring violently, her head began to shake, she couldn’t stand it anymore.

Her eyes began to widen as her pupils dilated, a hand crawled out of her shadow, an eerie dark figure stood behind her, making everyone in the crowd stay silent.

Stood in the middle of the crowd was a man holding a spear over his shoulder, his long white hair stuck out like a sore thumb and his emerald green eyes shone like a star. This crimson red spear was reflecting the light around him like some sort of mirror.

Zhao Haotian spoke in an annoyed tone, like he had something in his teeth.

“Why the hell should I even listen to you”?

“I don’t care if you listen to her or not”.

Shinji raised his hand as he snapped.

“Mass teleportation”.

Hundreds of adventurers ended up in the middle of an empty city, no signs of life yet the lights were still on, the streetlights still flickered on and off. The sunlight reflected in the mirror plated buildings.

Zhao stared at Shinji with a distain on his face.

“Are you kidding me? You just dragged us here without our permission”.

“You were paid by your government to fight anyways and didn’t you want to fight? You were asking for a fight with Shinji after all”.

Musashi spoke in a calm yet piercing tone.

“Me personally after facing demons head on, I wonder how much fun the Gods will be”.

Asami looked up at Shinji with a confused expression.

“Hey, where did you even transport us”?

“This was the closest place to a huge energy output aside from where Kronos went”.

Asami held her chin and started to think.

“We’re in the middle of a city with no civilians, no nuclear plants. How powerful do you think whoever we’re close to right is compared to whatever Kronos is fighting”?

Asami grabbed her head as she sighed.

“There’s probably two of them, we should split up, Shinji go by yourself”.

“You want me to face one alone”?

Asami stared at him with a blank face.

“Are you kidding me? You can definitely deal with them”.

Shinji sighed

“Fine”.

As he snapped his fingers, he immediately disappeared as he began to wander around on the other side of the area.

Asami fixed her gloves and adjusted her suit as the large creature hid itself in her shadow, a single small bird landed on her shoulder. A creature that creates illusions as its main ability.

She plucked out a single hair as a hawk flew in the place of her hair, its eyes were like cameras surveying the area.

“I-I don’t see anything, there’s nothing in a 3 mile radius, where the hell are they”?

Planes flew over the abandoned city scanning at the area as Asami stared at her wrist watch as it began to ring rapidly.

“The hell? It’s like his energy is everywhere, it’s not even densely packed, it’s evenly spread out”.

Nerissa walked up from behind her as Asami stared at the watch, she was confused beyond belief, something felt extremely off.

Half of Nerissa’s face was burned away from frostbite and flame, his entire left side was covered with multiple wounds.

He sighed.

“Yo, so where is the God”?

Asami stared back at him with malice.

“Are you kidding me!? What the hell do you think I’m doing”!?

She sighed.

“H-hey, do you think that we might be in danger”?

Satoru walked up towards her, his violet eyes glowing even in the bright sunlight.

“That’s the point of our job, we’re supposed to protect those who can’t”.

“Then who’ll protect us”?

Asami stopped talking, she had no answer.

“I-I don’t know, we protect ourselves I guess”.

The ground began to rapidly shake, Asami dropped onto her knees, she immediately felt the presence of something big, something powerful.

“E-everyone! Prepare to engage in battle”!

Every single person was completely frozen yet they didn’t see a single thing in front of them yet they felt it inside them, a feeling of dread.

Asami’s eyes scrunched up as her teeth began to gnaw at the side of her cheek, a single tear dropped down her cheek.

“There isn’t two of them, it’s just one and that one God is beneath us, he’s the entire city itself”.
