The woman stepped forward, her black eyes focused and unwavering. “Don’t underestimate us you stupid bitch” she said coldly. With a swift motion, she grabbed Shinji’s arm and yanked him back, her other hand raised as if preparing for something.
Shinji watched in confusion as she placed her palm on the ground. Her eyes gleamed with a strange light as the dirt beneath her hand began to ripple. “Stay close to me,” she muttered, her tone commanding.
Before Shinji could ask what she was doing, the earth beneath them shifted violently. Vines erupted from the ground, thick and twisting, wrapping themselves around the man’s legs and arms. He grunted in surprise, struggling to break free as the vines tightened their grip.
“You have Analyze,” Shinji murmured in realization, watching as the woman manipulated the environment with ease. “But you didn’t mention you could control the terrain.”
“Not exactly,” she replied through gritted teeth, focusing on maintaining her hold on the vines. “I can’t, I can see the flow of energy, if I manage to remember the flow of energy, I can recreate their abilities but only at 25% of its full potential.”
The man let out a frustrated roar, his strength breaking through the vines as he tore them apart. “You think this will stop me?” he growled, his eyes locking onto them with deadly intent.

Shinji’s pulse quickened. “We can’t stay here,” he said urgently. “He’ll break through any second!”
The woman nodded. “We’re not staying here anyways!”
Without another word, the two of them ran deeper into the jungle, the man’s angry shouts fading into the distance as they navigated the labyrinth of trees and underbrush. The dense foliage slowed their progress, but they didn’t dare stop. Every step felt like a race against time, their surroundings a blur of green and shadow.
After what felt like an eternity, they finally reached a small clearing. Shinji collapsed against a tree, panting heavily, his entire body aching from the exertion.
“That was close,” he muttered, wiping the sweat from his brow.
The woman nodded, equally winded. “We can’t rest for long. There will be more coming, and they’ll be just as strong—if not stronger.”
Shinji’s mind raced, but something about the woman’s calm demeanor helped ground him. He glanced at her, curiosity overcoming his exhaustion. “You said earlier that you could see people’s powers, right? What else do you know about the others?”
She hesitated for a moment, then sighed. “There’s one guy with an A-tier ability. He’s got something that allows him to manipulate his own density—makes him nearly invulnerable.”
Shinji winced. “Great. And what about the others?”
“The woman with him has some sort of energy manipulation ability. I couldn’t get a full read on it, but it’s dangerous. It seems like they’re working together to eliminate the rest of us.”
Shinji groaned. “So we’re up against an unstoppable team?”
“Not unstoppable,” she said, her voice firm. “Just… difficult.”
Shinji blinked, surprised by her confidence in him. “I’m just an F-class,” he said, his tone filled with doubt.
The woman smirked. “Maybe. But you’ve already shown me you’re more resourceful than you think. If we play this right, I might just make it out of here alive.”
Shinji swallowed, trying to shake off the fear gnawing at him. “What’s your name, by the way? You never told me.”
She glanced at him, her black eyes gleaming in the dim light of the jungle. “It’s Aya,” she said simply. “Now let’s focus. We’ve got a long way to go.”
