“Creation, I have the ability to create anything out of thin air”.
He wasn’t wrong but the structures he could create was not very durable, any sort of piercing damage would instantly disintegrate it but it had the ability to withstand a lot of blunt force.
“At least, you don’t seem useless”. She pat his back and smiled. “I have the ability Analyze, I can see a person’s ability and power”.
Shinji’s pupils shrunk as he immediately backed off. Preparing to attack her at any moment.
He could easily see that she knew about his ability.
“Don’t worry, I won’t attack you, at least if you follow my instructions”.
She smiled at him, her pitch black eyes moving left and right.
“If you listen to me properly then we both will pass this test, that I can promise you”.
He was still wary of her but Shinji went back to see the rest of his team, only to see them gone, their items left on the ground.
He got into a defensive stance, putting his back against the girl he was with.
“Seems we both have support powers, how do you plan we win”?
Shinji found himself standing amidst the dense greenery of the jungle, the air thick with humidity and the distant sounds of wildlife echoing in the background. His mind raced as he tried to process what had just happened—the blinding light, the sudden shift in surroundings, and now the looming task of survival. He could feel the sweat beading on his forehead, his heart pounding in his chest.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
The woman who had approached him earlier, her hand still resting lightly on his shoulder, gave him a sharp nudge. “Focus,” she said, her tone firm but not unkind. “This is just the beginning. We’re being watched.”
Shinji swallowed hard and glanced around. He could barely see through the thick trees and overgrown bushes, and the sense of being observed made his skin crawl. He couldn’t shake the feeling that the examiners, or perhaps something more sinister, were lurking just out of sight, waiting for them to make a mistake.
“Listen,” the woman continued, her voice lowering as she leaned in closer. “I told you before, my ability is Analyze. I’ve already figured out the capabilities of the others, and let’s just say we’re at a disadvantage.”
Shinji frowned. “You mean the others in our group?”
“Exactly,” she said, eyes narrowing. “They’re not going to hesitate to eliminate us if it means getting ahead in the exam. We need to be smarter, faster, and work together.”
“Work together?” Shinji repeated, his voice laced with skepticism. He’d just met this woman, and trust wasn’t something he could afford to give out so easily, not in a situation like this.
“Like I said,” she smiled thinly, “as long as you follow my lead, we’ll make it out of here. I don’t need to attack you. We’re on the same side… for now.”
Shinji’s eyes darted around once more, searching for any sign of the others, but the jungle remained deceptively still. He clenched his fists, trying to steady his breathing. “Fine. What’s the plan?”
Before she could respond, a low rustling from the nearby bushes caught their attention. Shinji’s muscles tensed instinctively, his body prepared for an attack. A figure emerged—a man, tall and broad, his face hidden under a hood. He glanced at them both, his expression unreadable.
Without warning, the man charged at them, his speed shocking for someone of his size. Shinji barely had time to react before the woman beside him pushed him to the ground, narrowly avoiding the man’s outstretched hand.
“Damn it!” Shinji cursed, scrambling to his feet. He raised his hands instinctively, his ability sparking to life as glowing words materialized midair, spelling out a barrier between him and the attacker. The man skidded to a stop, momentarily stunned by the appearance of the words.
He gripped the barrier, completely ripping in half like it was paper.
“Is that all you’ve got?” the man sneered, flexing his hands. “Cheap tricks won’t help you here.”
