Chapter 140- Boomburst

“You can’t regenerate forever, can you?”

The dark knights surrounded Musashi’s broken body, raising their massive swords and battering him into the ground.

“He won’t be getting back up anytime soon,” the demon mocked.

The demon rushed towards Yuki, trying to pierce her with his dagger, blood gushed out of her at least what the demon thought it was her.

Her body had split from the perceived version of her body, the Demon could not see her at all.

Bruises kept landing on the Demon’s body over and over again, each time the injury was twice as painful as the previous one.

The Demon was being beat to a pulp by a little girl.

“This is enough”.

His heartbeat rose quickly, creating a sonic boom that launched her back into a wall.

The blood pooling beneath Musashi’s body began to ripple. Suddenly, it erupted with explosive force, scattering as high-speed droplets that tore through the air like bullets.

The demon winced as several tiny holes punched through his arms and legs, forcing him to retreat. He turned his glowing eyes toward Musashi, now standing tall, his body whole again, towering over the fallen knights.

“How the hell are you still alive?” the demon growled.

The blood droplets in the air condensed, becoming even smaller and faster than before. The demon moved with almost preternatural awareness, dodging each one with uncanny precision, sensing the slightest shifts in the air.

“You think I’m gonna lose now?!” the demon snarled, summoning even more dark knights from the shadows to swarm Musashi.

The knights rushed forward in waves, but Musashi’s blood strings cut them down effortlessly. The battlefield was a crimson sea of fallen enemies and gushing wounds.

With sunrise nearing, the demon changed its tactics, retreating into a nearby warehouse. It summoned an army of knights to cover its escape, hoping to slow Musashi down.

Musashi advanced steadily, cutting down every knight in his path. But as he entered the warehouse, a thick, blinding smoke filled the air, clouding his vision. His blood, which had floated freely, now fell lifelessly to the ground, severed from his control.

A shining bright light filled his eyes rendering his eyes completely useless.

The demon stepped out of the shadows, approaching slowly, its movements precise and deliberate. Every attack Musashi launched missed by an inch, the demon’s reflexes sharper than ever.

“Your tricks won’t work on me now,” the demon whispered, pulling out knuckle dusters embedded with miniature blades that shimmered with the same aura as the Malefic Dagger.

The two engaged in brutal hand-to-hand combat. Musashi coated his fists in hardened blood, but every swing missed its mark. Meanwhile, the demon’s attacks were devastating, slicing into Musashi’s flesh again and again. Blood poured from his wounds, his strength waning with every second.

The demon kicked him out of the warehouse, leaving Musashi sprawled on the ground, his body battered and broken.

Yuki rushed to his side, kneeling over him. “At least he still has a pulse,” she muttered, though worry filled her voice.

Then it clicked. “Itto, his third ability isn’t just the heartbeat or the summons. It’s automatic evasion. He dodges everything he is able to see instinctively!”
