“Thanks for the info”.
Shinji left the demon there to bleed to death as he walked away from the scene.
“And by the way Asami, just leave him there, don’t heal him”.
“Whatever you say”.
She touched the demon’s head with her foot, seeing if he was dead or alive, but his body had no signs of consciousness.
Multiple demons rushed out towards Shinji at once, trying their best to subdue him at once.
With a wave of Shinji’s hand, a gust of wind blew the demons away.
“Haha, no way! Nakamura only sent three of you!? How much is he underestimating me or is he really that stupid? I doubt it”.
Shinji looked around, his awareness had immediately expanded.
One of the demons stood up, cloth generating from his skin as he ran around Shinji, wrapping him up completely.
“You think this will subdue me”?
Shinji’s body generated a gust of wind that blew away the cloth.
“Your overconfidence will be your downfall”?

A demon came running up to him, getting unnecessarily close.
“Gambit”.
Shinji sat right in front of the demon on the table, a single chessboard in front of him.
“This isn’t an ultimate ability, what is this”?
A single ball of fire turned into a single strand of string immediately within his hand.
“The output of my energy is being stringified, is this your skill”?
He stood up from the chair trying to walk away, he immediately appeared back into the chair.
He stared at the chessboard.
“This is my skill, you don’t have any other choice except to play with me in a game of chess, me first”.
Shinji saw a vision of the future.
As long as energy isn’t being changed, some powers are allowed to work within the skill’s walls,
“Your skill, it doesn’t allow any sort of violence does it? Whatever”.
He sat back down on his chair
The demon moved a piece on the board as he crossed his legs and leaned forward meeting eye to eye with Shinji.
Shinji’s eyes unwavering staring straight at the demon’s eyes.
He smiled at the demon as he stared at the chess board, moving a piece on the opposing side.
“You’re way too confident. What makes you so sure you’re going to win”?
“Because I am”.
The chessboard glimmered faintly, each piece alive with a dull, otherworldly glow that pulsed in sync with the demon’s energy. Shinji watched the board closely, his expression calm but his mind racing.
The demon smirked, his sharp teeth glinting in the heavenly light from the dimension. It moved a knight forward, threatening Shinji’s bishop.
“Your move,” the demon said, its tone laced with mockery.
Shinji narrowed his eyes and leaned forward, his fingers hovering over the pieces. He moved a pawn two spaces forward. “I don’t need to rush. you’ll lose somehow.”
The demon chuckled, its laughter resonating unnaturally in the enclosed space. “Confidence won’t save you here.” He moved its queen across the board, putting Shinji’s king under immediate pressure.
“Check.”
Shinji was immovable like a wall, not even an increase in heart rate. Violence was indeed prohibited, and no amount of raw energy could disrupt the game. Underneath the table, a flickering flame kept appearing and disappearing.
He moved his rook to block the attack, his hands steady, though his mind noted every subtle advantage the demon was accruing.
“You’re not bad, you’re straight up just ass”.
