Chapter 167- Everything Has a Beginning

Chapter 167- Everything Has a Beginning

Thanatos tried to crawl away, his fingers scraped against the pure carbon floor, golden ichor pooling under him as he began to sob furiously.

His soul began to get younger and younger, despair in his eyes.

Chronus crouched down beside Thanatos, his expression as cold and blank as the void surrounding them. The God of Death, now a shadow of his once proud self back to where he originally belonged, as a slave.

“Do you feel it? Your end and your beginning entertwining”? Chronus whispered, his voice was like a needle piercing into his skin.

“Please lord Chronus”..

Chronus tilted his head, observing the fallen god with detached curiosity. “Begging now, are we? How very mortal of you.” He leaned closer, his glowing blue eyes narrowing. “You spoke so boldly of power, of defiance. Where is that fire now?”

Thanatos’s sobs grew louder, his voice cracking with despair. “I… I was wrong! Please! I’ll do whatever you want!”

“Come with me, I have a job for you to do, hide in my shadow”.

Time began to speed back up, the distorted space around them began to return back into its original shape, Shinji collapsed onto the floor, completely tired out.

Hestia and Asami immediately regained consciousness, Asami looked at Neila, her eyes were fluttering and confused.

“Hi Neila”.

“Hi”.

Hestia’s hands immediately lit up with a burning blue flame, her eyes had fiery sparks that lit up the entire room.

“Chronus, what the hell are you doing here”!?

He immediately appeared behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder, he smiled at her.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill all of you, if I wanted to then you all would be dead right here”.

“Why the hell should we trust you”.

Hestia pointed her finger onto his neck, pressing her against Neila’s adam apple.

Chronus simply stared back, his eyes were only half open.

“You can’t be talking can you? Didn’t you destroy an entire human city? I wonder why they trust you so much”?

His tone was filled to the brim with sarcasm.

According to Greek legend, Hestia’s aura she that she exudes is called the Protection of the Hearth, with her mere presence anyone who she believes to be a good person instantly is provided with her safety, warmth and a sense of continuity making it easier for her to be able to gain trust of others.

Chronus turned his back onto them as he began to walk away with a single hand in his pocket as he slowly looked back with his other hand signaling them to follow him.

“Come on, what are you all doing? Didn’t you want the dagger”?

Hestia was extremely wary, she knew what type of God Chronus was very well, she never forgot what he had done, he had once massacred nearly almost all of the humans by himself and the Gods were helpless against him. Her fist clenched reminding her of her once true love being stripped of his life by him.

“What the hell are you planning, there’s no way in hell you’re doing this because you’re being selfless”.

The God of Time smiled as he looked at her and completely ignored her beginning to walk towards the exit once more.

“Come on, I have a contract with the kid, I can’t do anything or I’ll have to deal either the penalty”.

Asami immediately spoke up.

“Kronus, do you even have any idea on where the dagger might be”?

“Of course, did you think I would be going anywhere without a plan? Hestia, can’t you sense it too? Gaia’s energy, she’s here”.
