Shinji made his way back home, taking off his watch and placing it beside his pillow as he crawled back into bed, hoping for a dreamless sleep. But as soon as he drifted off, the nightmares came. His hands clutched the bedsheets tightly as his father’s death replayed over and over in his mind, a cruel loop that wouldn’t end.
His father had died not because of an accident, but because he couldn’t pay for his medical bills. He had chosen death, taking his own life in front of Shinji. His father’s last act had been to give him the watch, a symbol of everything Shinji had lost.
There was a heavy knock on his door, he jolted awake, sweat dripping down his face as he groggily walked towards his house’s door.
He opened the creaky door, large and intimidating men stood outside, they wore punk like clothes and masks that hid their noses and mouths.
“Get out,” one of them growled, his voice deep and menacing. “We’re looting this place.”
Shinji’s mind went blank. All he could think about was his watch, the only thing he had left of his father. He turned, trying to run back inside to grab it, but before he could move, one of the men grabbed him by the collar and yanked him back. Shinji’s head slammed into the pavement, blood trickling from his scalp as he scrambled on his hands and knees, begging.

“PLEASE, LET ME TAKE AT LEAST ONE THING!!!JUST ONE!”
A kick to the face cut off his plea, his head hitting the wall behind him with a sickening thud. Blood poured from his nose and mouth, his body crumpling on the ground. His old phone rang in his hand, Satoshi’s name flashing on the screen. Satoshi was already on his way, having sensed something was wrong. He called the police as he sprinted toward Shinji’s house, his legs burning with exertion.
Meanwhile, the yakuza members trashed the house, smashing anything of value as Shinji lay there, barely clinging to life. His heart was barely beating, his breaths coming in shallow, rapid bursts. Despite his unconscious state, something deep within him activated.
Sentences surrounded his heart, forcefully making it pump blood throughout his body. His lungs contracting and relaxing forcefully even while unconscious.
By the time Satoshi arrived, the house was in shambles, and Shinji’s body was on the brink of shutting down entirely. Blood continued to drip from his head, his pulse weak and erratic.
Shinji just sat there bleeding, close to the brink of death, barely clutching onto the last string of life.
His heart was barely beating, even while unconscious his will was strong enough to manifest his power inside his own body, forcing his own lungs and heart to keep continuing using the sentence of words.
His breath was quick and erratic, while his heart rate was barely over 40bpm.
Blood dripped down his head.
His body began to deteriorate, his breath slowing down bit by bit.
“Shinji!! Shinji! Don’t die on me, please”!
Satoshi gripped onto his friend’s shirt, holding him as tears dripped down his face.
Shinji barely managed to utter dome words in his blood soaked state.
“D-don’t cry, I feel b-bad”.
