Alright, I’ll just take it as a benefit for now. It's no use thinking on it for this long. More importantly, I think I'm almost at the end of this stupid crater. I can't believe I(Mosquito God I mean) made such a monster. That's terrifying. As I started to reach the edge of the crater, I noticed something. The wall was… shimmering? And shaking? Uh oh. As I got closer, the shaking continued to get worse and worse, and I noticed something orange peaking above and dripping over the edge. Yeah, that’s always a good sign. Maybe I shouldn't… Eh, whatever. Let’s go! I’m invincible… wait no I’m not… I evolved. Uhhhhh.
At that thought, the wall collapsed down into the crater. A wave of orange collapsed into the crater, moving… oddly slow. After it passed the steep edge, it got slow real quickly.
The… lava? went from a possible wave of water to a nice stroll. I mean, the only way you'd be caught in it is if it managed to surround you somehow. And people say lava is dangerous. Clearly they’ve never seen it. So, I continued my flight , going over the lava to see my newest expedition. It was… not a place very conducive to a blood sucking mosquito. It was, for a lack of a better term, a hot barren wasteland. It was honestly probably worse than the wasteland I found past the lake in the first place. There were pools of lava all around. With nothing but ash in between. It would be nice if I could drink lava, but I’m pretty sure I’d burn before even getting close to there. So, I decided to turn around. And… I think the lava sped up when I wasn’t looking. The slow little lava pool that was barely faster than walking distance had covered a huge swath of land behind me.

It was everywhere I could see… WAIT A MINUTE! THIS BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER EVIL GRASS PROBLEM! I quickly felt for my connection to my cultists, and they were all there, safe! Alright, it’s just deceptively quick lava. So, where was I? Oh yeah, the way back is gone. I might as well go forward… Despite what anyone else tells you, flying over lava is irritating. It’s so hot that you can feel it all around you. Or maybe that’s just because it’s a fantasy world. Eh, whatever. So, I decided to fly around the pools of lava and continue on my journey.
Overall, it was rather lackluster, until I felt something in the back of my mind. It was a light probing feeling, like something was trying to get in. Yeah I’m out. I think I’d rather not be mind controlled by a random creature that I can’t see. So, I turned around… I turned around. I SAID I TURNED AROUND! I was trying to turn, but my body wasn’t listening to me anymore. I kept going forward, toward a rather large pool of lava, that was rippling. And it was really weird. Have you ever seen water ripple when you drop something in it? It was like that in slow motion. But it was quickly speeding up. Soon, there wasn’t a single piece of stationary lava, and it was moving so fast I couldn’t track a ripple. Then, it started rising. Out of the ground came a… slime? Alright, that is definitely a slime. I got my first view of an actual normal fantasy monster, except it was the size of a trailer, and made of lava. I guess lava slimes aren’t that unusual… WAIT! Not the time for this! I was quickly approaching my death, being brought closer to the giant slime that wanted to envelop me. I was a few meters away, then half, and finally a few centimeters, when I stopped. I couldn’t even see the top of the slime at this point, as I was waaay too close, but I realized something. The probing feeling in my mind had changed. Where before it felt like it was trying to break in, now it was… wrapping around me? And I think amused? What? What the hell did I just come across?
