4. Dragonfly

Day 1

Poisoned(MInor):

Lose 2% of max health per hour.

There goes my 10 days… That gives me what, 50 hours? Alright… Still better than nothing. Who am I kidding? This sucks. I died to what I can only assume was a freak of nature heart attack, then after being given a chance to start anew, got stuck in the body of a mosquito, which only had 10 days to live, may I add. Where is the justice here? Where is my OP skill?

Alright, actually, I’ll give, I do have an OP skill, but… WHAT USE IS IT IF I CAN’T EVEN LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO USE It?!?!? You know what? I am going to fulfill my duty! I will find a mate! After figuring out how to fly… Alright, I’ve got this!

Slowly, I started beating my wings again. Doing what came naturally (Is it natural if the system had to give me a skill for it?). And, after another five minutes, I flew! Okay, maybe flew is a little generous. I got a good 3 inches off the ground (which is way higher than I am tall) and started plummeting back to the ground? (blood?) Is it considered ground since I can walk on it? Not the point! The point is, I was flying! Now, to repeat, and find some of my brethren!

4 minutes later and I made a very upsetting realization. I was lost. I may or may not have run (more like waddled) in a random direction away from those bloodthirsty birds. And I also may or may not have seen another mosquito for a few hours now. But, on the bright side, I am an expert in flying. I can make it up a total of 3 feet, reliably, and another foot unreliably.

Fly level up. Dexterity multiplier is now 1.01x.

WOOOO!!!! What the hell is that!?!?!

Off in the distance, a green blur was rushing towards me. It was moving way faster than me, and charging me like a train. And me, being the amazing, upstanding genius that I am, acted in a way befitting only the bravest of heroes. I turned around and flew at max speed. Which, while not very quick, was a decent bit quicker after my new level in Fly. Not that it helped. This thing was on me in an instant.

In an instant, there was a flash of green, and a soaring pain across my leg. Realizing I would never be able to escape, I used my amazing agility, and performed a maneuver about as gracefully as a dying cat. I turned around, stabbed my spears into its abdomen, and started sucking. Now, I would like to say that the stupid bug turned to a shriveled raisin in an instant under my superior powers of bloodsucking.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

But it did not. Sure, it slowed down a little, but, uhh… Let’s just say seeing how well that was working, I learned first hand what a slasher movie looks like. When sucking its blood didn’t work, the bug tried to get its mandibles around my body. It leaned its head up and started to close them like lightning.

Barely dodging the blow that would have undoubtedly cut my short life even shorter,I flew a little higher and landed on its back. What occurred next was nightmare fuel. I took my spears and stabbed at it again, and again, and again. Green blood squirted out of it like a bucket with a hole in it, until it eventually stopped moving.

Dragonfly(Lv 3) killed. + 5 exp.

Skill Aerial Combat obtained.

And I finally had my first kill under my belt. And, even though I had never heard of a mosquito eating a dragonfly before, I couldn’t waste my chance at some free xp, so, I did what had to be done and sucked that dragonfly dry.

Bloodsucker+1 activated. Dragonfly(Lv 3) blood(fresh) consumed. + 2 exp. 10% progress to dragonfly skill.

Level up!

+5 stat points

Oh yeah! Another level up! And some stat points which I completely forgot to use last time… oops. Well then, you live and you learn. System! I wanna use my stat points! And, lo and behold, I finally got a chance to get stronger.

Please select stats to put points into. (10 Available)

Strength: 0 .1

Agility: 0.2

Dexterity: 0.101

Intelligence: 100

Constitution: 0.05

Charisma: 1.01

Hey uh, system, out of curiosity, could you tell me what each stat does? I don’t want to make a stupid mistake.

Strength: Increases damage of physical skills and slightly increases max health.

Agility: Increases maneuverability and effectiveness of movement skills.

Dexterity: Increases fine motor controls and the ability to hit a target with all skills.

Intelligence: Increases max mana and ability to store and recall information

Constitution: Increases defense against physical attacks and max health.

Charisma: Increases likability to creatures perceived as friends. Increases intimidation against enemies. Improves effectiveness of all speech related skills.

So, that’s a lot… But what do I need the most? Looking back at myself, and my most recent debacles. Something becomes clear. I lost my leg in that fight. AND IT FUCKING HURTS! OW OW OW OW OW! Wait, no it doesn’t? It’s back? Huh? Cool. Let’s chalk that up to level up shenanigans and move on. Now then. In theory, with more max health I can survive the poison for longer, and maybe not lose a leg? (I think I lost it at least). So! System! Put them all into constitution!

Processing Request…

Constitution: 10.05

Wait, that’s a big increase. Maybe I can become a god… Or at least as strong as a human.

ERROR! Attribute Point cannot increase a stat by more than 10% of its base value.

Compensating…

Constitution: 0.1

Oh…
