41. The Pains of Evolving

Just like last time, I felt my soul leave my body, probably my soul. Is my sense of self what my soul is? That’s too deep for me. I’m not gonna think about it. Well, my probably soul left my body, brought on a journey through the darkness. I was brought back to the battlefield I was at before, but it had changed. No longer were there insects eating or breaking eggs, the mosquitoes were defending them. The disaster mosquitoes were fighting back valiantly, but it was clear they would not last forever. They were slowly being killed off, as their enemies were numerous. There were millions of insects coming at them as quickly as they could. The mosquitoes were getting most of them, but as with all insect wars, numbers can beat all. Every now and then, some insect would get a lucky shot and kill one of the mosquitoes. Since the last time I saw them, their numbers had dwindled down to a mere few hundred, and they did not look like they would last long. Out of pure instinct, I did the same thing as last and used my piercing flight. It hatched thousands of eggs just like last time, but I could feel it. It would not be enough. This was nothing but a temporary solution, and it would lead to problems in the future. At this rate, their numbers would dwindle until all hope was lost, they needed to fight back instead. I flew there for a bit, before an idea came to me. To the insects, I radiated the idea that I wanted to talk to their manager. At that, they all turned around and scuttled away though the void, they’d be back, but this would help stave them off for even longer.

All of sudden, just like last time, I was back to my body, lying on the ground where I had started, though this time I appeared to have guards around me. The spiders appeared to have survived their assault on the flytraps, and a new web had been set up in the crater around me.

My poor stats… they were so high before! MY HEALTH! MY beautiful health! Oh Mosquito God, this world is too cruel. The inhumanity… I hope someone pays for this. I will never forgive whoever made such sucky mosquito evolutions. They will feel the burning rage of my soul later! But more importantly, who made the evil plants? I figured it out?
