You've been busy

Hello again. I found Julius today.

Super happy about that!

He destroyed a pirate kingdom. I dunno which one and I don't care. I am sure they deserved it. Julius is a very upright fella.

My wake up call today was Lena whimpering and shivering on my chest as she slept. The sun wasn't up yet but I didn't go back to sleep. I hugged her. Sent some tingles into my arms and chest areas. Enough to warm up but not make fire. She relaxed and snuggled the warmth.

I just stayed like that until the sun was up. Watching the stars and being a little girls heated mattress. Didn't see this coming, did I?

When the sun rose it brought with it hope. For in the distance I could see pillars of smoke.

I had my suspicions but I tried not to get my hopes up. Maybe it was just some other fire friendly person, whooping it up. I failed, my hopes got way up. I didn't wait for Lena to wake up. I took flight right away. Frantically flapping my way to the smoke, and hoping to find fire.

Sure enough. A Small cluster of islands had seven fortresses dotted along its edge and a castle in the middle. All ravaged and burning.

Cleaning his ears of soot near the castle was Julius.

I swooped down and scooped him up. Cuddling the fluffy for all I was worth. My friend was alive! My brother was alive!

HAHA! Take that storm! You didn't kill either of us! You didn't even seperate us for that long!!

That was when Lena woke up. She finally let go of me and flopped on the grass. Her eyes were dull and glassy. Until they took in Julius.

Julius and Lena stared at each other for a solid minute. Weighing each other on the cosmic scale of cuteness all of nature must abide by. Finally, Julius hopped imperiously over to the shellshocked little girl. He gave a magnanimous twitch of the ear and a tolerant chitter.

Lena gave out a squeal. "HE'S SO CUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!" she pretty much deafened me there. then she scooped up the very relaxed Julius and proceeded to cuddle like her life depended on it.

I suppose her sanity might?

I settled down and watched the two adorable little ones frolic in the soft grass with a burning pirate castle in the background.

Picturesque.

After a very long time I led the way back to the shore. Julius was carried by Lena. The newest member of our little troupe. I needed to find a boat and then find a way back to captain Chapman. Or the bloodwake kingdom. Assuming this wasn't the bloodwake kingdom, that is. I didn't see a single living pirate on the island.

Julius is content to nestle with his newest cuddle buddy, and Lena is pretty much blind to all the carnage around us. Focusing on just the fluffy red friend in her arms.

Which is good because Julius really went wild here. I think she might be freaked out by all the dismembered corpses and shattered buildings if she saw them.

It took a long time to find a seaworthy vessel. Julius had wrecked them too. I was just considering making my own when a new undaaged ship pulled into dock. I kicked the pirates off and set sail in my reappropriated sloop.

Inside were seven massive chests full of shiny shiny loot. My loot now I suppose. I dumped them into my satchel.

We set sail. Julius and Lena frolicked about on deck enjoying the sun and a nice breeze. Lena would occasionally make a ball of water come from the sea and chase Julius with it. He would dodge her water balls and send back fireballs of his own. Lena blocked them with a seawater curtain. Kids love to play you know?

After they wore each other out I made some fish for lunch. Lena complained it was too spicy so I made her a different dish without the firemoss.

The kids had played themselves into an early nights sleep. Lena and Julius were curled up in a hammock. I watched the sunset before getting in my own hammock.

Things are looking up.

Goodnight.
