Hello again. I feel much better today.
When I woke up I felt like someone had stuffed a thunderstorm between my ears.
This feeling was compounded by the arrival of little Lena.
Lena is a tiny little girl with a very big smile, and a very loud voice. She wears simple canvas clothes like all the other sailors on board, and keeps her long blue hair braided and bundeled atop her head. Her uncle, Chapman, is the captain of this ship the Wave Walker.
Captain Chapman is a small man with a big nose, a big hat, and a big voice. Deep as the ocean and twice as cold, when captain Chapman bellows out an order his crew leaps to obey. He dotes on Lena though. SHe is the princess in this castle of wood and canvas.
Other crewmembers of note are Herry, and Lonny.
Herry is huge. Towering over me with powerful muscles that swell under his bronze skin. He would be terrifying if not for his gaptoothed sunny smile he carries everywhere with him.
Herrys antithesis is Lonny. He is in a word, greasy. Slickbacked black hair and a smile that makes you check your back for knives combined. I don't like Lonny.
While Herry dotes on Lena nearly as much as the captain Lonny keeps his distance. But he is always watching her. I don't like Lonny at all.
They are merchants for the Bloodwake Ravagers pirate kingdom.
I guess a long time ago the largest and most powerful pirate crews set up shop on some uninhabited islands. A few centuries passed and now they are full fledged kingdoms. With their own navies, merchant fleets, laws, and even currencies.
The Bloodwake kingdom is fairly powerful amongst pirate kingdoms. And this fluyt the Wave Walker is a part of their merchant fleet. Fluyts are very good at moving cargo. They move quick, have a lot of space, and only need a small crew to run at their best. Very efficient.

All that also means they are lightly armed and manned. Making them very tasty targets for enemy pirates.
Like the ones who attacked right after lunch.
A brig and two sloops came from behind us. The brig would not normally be a problem as the Water Walker could simply outrun it.
But those sloops creeped in on either side, and their cannons swept the sails and masts. Leaving us crippled and a sitting duck for the howling pirates aboard the brig.
Well. I guess I was a little bit mad at the world still over losing Julius. Because when those Pirates came alongside the Wave Walker.
Well.
I boarded them first.
I had a sword in either hand. Fire filled the air around me. My tingles buzzed in anger and anguish. They demanded release.
I gave it to them.
Necks were slit. Arms split. Heads rolled and overhead the rigging and sails blazed. I was screaming. Nothing in particular. Just releasing the pain inside me all over these fools.
In the end I was calm. I took a box full of shiny loot and tucked it into my satchel before punching a series of holes into the bottom of the pirate brig and heading back to the topdeck.
When I got there I looked at the Wave Walker and saw chaos. The sloops had boarded her while I was handling the brig. Dead pirates and sailors cluttered her deck. I saw Chapman and Herry charging a group of pirates and pushing them back onto their sloop. Herry made to follow them back to their ship but they cut loose and took off.
The sloops headed in different directions.
By the time I had finished torching the brig the Wave Walker had already set off after one. They were limping and slow though. They had no chance of catching that agile sloop and judging from the swearing from Chapman he knew it.
I flew over and upon seeing I could fly captain Chapman grabbed me and ordered me to go save Lena.
Lonny had grabbed her and jumped onto one of the sloops during the attack. He had been a spy Chapman said.
I don't know why they wanted Lena but I doubted it would be good for her health to find out.
I took off after the sloop. But I never got there.
While my rampage on the brig had certainly been refreshing it had also been exhausting. I was out of fire. I pulled off a beautiful bellyflop into the sea below and was barely saved from drowning by a well thrown rope by Herry.
The crew is frantically fixing the damaged masts and sails. We will continue chasing Lena and Lonny it seems. These guys sure want to get Lena back. What I don't get is why they seem more angry than panicked?
I mean, I only knew her for less than a day and I am terrified about what those sick pirates might do to her. They've known her for a lot longer than me and they seem more pissed that she got taken from them than worried for her safety.
Ugh, what do I know though? People are weird.
I'll fly after her tomorrow.
Goodnight.
