Hello again! Today we left Fukai, and set our sights on the Iceni.

Our departure wasn't without pomp and flair though, unforunately. We had decided to leave Ardiea and Lena's fleet behind. As they'd only slow us down now that we've got tinglewood, but they weren't willing to let their little leader leave without a whole bunch of elaborate of ceremonies.

She gave a cute little speech all dressed up like a princess. There was a weirdly formal breakfasr buffet where she had to sit in the throne and tap a bunch of people on both shoulders with a jeweled sword. She also said stuff to a huge crowd of people who were all bowing to her, but I was too busy making full use of the buffet to hear exactly what was being said.

Not like it really mattered to me much though, we were going to be gone soon enough, and I doubted I would ever see any of these people or this place again. There is just so much more world out there, calling me.

Then after all of that Lena gave Ardiea her fancy sword and cloak and whatnot. The tall and scary looking elf lokked like she was going to burst into tears from a surfeit of some emotion or other. Again, distracted, buffet.

Then she had to spill her blood into the 'mirror-shield pool' and onto the dusty crusty mirror Ardeia had given her two days before. Finally we left with a bunch of Lena's sailors throwing confetti and firing their ships cannons in a deafening salute. A lot of them were crying and cheering at the same time.

Boy did they ever look silly!

The Shoto have a lot of weird 'goodbye friends' ceremonies. I think it's a bit excessive if I'm being completely honest. But hey, they were nice enough once we killed all the ones who were ordering them to attack us. And I think it's considered rude to just blow off another peoples rituals and ceremonies. So I managed to sit through them, and I loaded the best bits from the buffet into my satchel, of course. For later consumption.

That all managed to eat up most of the day, and so by the time we were on the road again the sun had already begun it's descent. So we covered what ground we could. Happy just to be back in our little group. And dined on leftovers when the sun dropped out of sight.

I wonder if the Iceni will want us to go through their own ceremonies when we finish wrecking their palace and killing their ruler? I sure hope not. I don't think I can sit through all that again, not unless the buffet is absolutely fantastic!

As I write this everyone else has already bedded down and drifted off to sleep. As I listen to the various snores, purrs, and squeaks that only our special crew can make, I'm truly at peace with the world. This is right. Us, here, and now. This is a perfect moment.

I hope I remember this forever.

Goodnight.
