CHAPTER 444 THE TOUGH CHOICE THAT THEY WERE FACED WITH
The five elders accepted Ricky's generous presents. The Treasures from Heaven and Earth were
things that they needed the most, after all.
"Thank you, Ricky! We are grateful for what you have done to help us. Maybe we are old, but we can
still do something for you. You must tell us whenever you need a hand and we will do whatever we can
for you—you have our word." They made their promises to Ricky right after he gave them their gifts.
They clearly understood that Ricky did not have to help them with all his might, but still, he had
searched for such powerful treasures for them. That was thoughtful enough of him, so in return, they
would spare no effort to pay him back as long as they could.
"Thank you, elders, for making this promise to me. You are my seniors, so I am just doing what a good
junior should do for you," Ricky replied in a soft voice as he gave them a sincere look.
"So, the next choice is going to be really tough. I'm afraid I have to leave the choice of what to do next
up to you guys," Ricky said again in a slightly serious tone after he paused for a moment.
The next second, he took out the cultivation method inheritance and casting skill inheritance that he
had gained from the Ruin Demi-spiritual Emperor.
"What are those, Ricky?" the elders asked. They had great looks of shock on their faces when they
saw the two luminous blobs.
"These are the cultivation method inheritance and casting skill inheritance from a demi-spiritual
emperor. He was also a casting master at the advanced stage of Spirit Level," Ricky replied. "I'd like to
give them to you, but there is a problem. I only have two inheritances, while there are five of you. As for
who will get them, I'm afraid you have to decide on your own."
Ricky had his own things to consider. If he were to make the choice, it would be unfair to those who
didn't get them. If the choice was left to them, then no one would blame him for being unfair. There was
nothing he could do to solve that problem. He only had two inheritances, after all. If possible, he wished
that he had five so that each elder could get one.
"The inheritances from a demi-spiritual emperor?" they exclaimed in shock again upon hearing what
Ricky had just said.
After the shock was gone, they fell into silence. Everyone wanted the inheritances from a demi-spiritual
emperor, especially people like them who were old and were not able to break through and become
innate spirits. It was no shame to admit such a thing.
The six people fell in silence for a few minutes.
Finally, a decision was made. Elder Samuel and another three elders exchanged looks before they
turned to Ricky and said at the same time, "Ricky, please give the inheritances to Elder Evan! We've
made the decision that he deserves them!
The demi-spiritual emperor's cultivation method must be of the fire nature. Elder Evan is very powerful
in the methods that use fire energy, so it fits him perfectly."
"What are you talking about?" Elder Evan exclaimed in a serious tone when he heard what the other
elders said. "Do you think I am the kind who would accept them all alone? Do you think I'm that
selfish?"
"Elder Evan, we've known each other for a really long time. We worked for the former chief, and later
we worked for Chief Zenith together. We've been through tough times together. So, please just accept
it. All of us agree on giving the inheritance to you and we made this decision willingly," Elder Samuel
said.
"You don't need to hide anything from us. I'm sure you are almost one hundred years older than the
rest of us. For us, there is about one hundred and twenty years left if we do not become innate spirits.
If I guess that right, you have thirty years at the most left, even if you have the Treasures from Heaven
and Earth to extend your life."
"What? Thirty years at the most? Really, Elder Evan?" Ricky asked in tremendous shock after hearing
what Elder Samuel said.
He probably did not have any method he could use to make the five elders immortal considering the
fact that he was not an immortal yet either, but he was certain that he could figure out a way to make
them live longer.
He had done something, as a matter of fact. The Treasures from Heaven and Earth were to extend
their lives, and some cultivation method inheritances were also excellent examples.
Elder Evan remained silent then. What Elder Samuel had said was right. He did not have much time
left at that point because he was entering a stage of deterioration.
If he did not get some inheritance from powerful warriors or acquire more powerful Treasures from
Heaven and Earth, there was no way he would ever become an innate spirit.
"Elder Evan, just take it. They are right—you are the one who should accept it," Ricky said, staring at
Elder Evan, who was still standing in silence.
Then, he passed the inheritances to Elder Evan without hesitation.
Stretching out his old palm, Elder Evan took the cultivation method inheritance of the Ruin Demi-
spiritual Emperor. He decided not to decline it anymore. He would be hypocritical if he did, and would
be letting Ricky and the others down. They had already made such a great contribution, so he should
take advantage of that opportunity while he could.
"Ricky, my friends, thank you so much," Elder Evan said gratefully. Those were the only words he could
say despite the fact that he was so deeply touched by their kindness.
"You can keep your words of thanks, Elder Evan. You are one step closer than us to entering the innate
spirit stage. We have Ricky, remember? I'm sure he will help us to get more inheritances," Elder Lucia
said.
"Ha-ha. It seems that you already have something in mind," Ricky said, laughing and wrinkling his nose
when he heard what Elder Lucia said.
"Ha-ha. Sure, we have. We old guys are your seniors, aren't we? You can't just watch us die one
hundred years from now, can you? You are holding great responsibilities," Elder Samuel said while he
laughed.
"I will do whatever I can to help you, my seniors," Ricky chuckled as a response.
"Ha-ha." The rest of them shared their joy with each other.
"Well, I will accept the cultivation inheritance then. As for the casting skill inheritance, I think Elder
Samuel should have it. I'm not good at casting at all," Elder Evan suggested.
"That is a good idea. If we have a casting master of Spirit Level, I'm sure the Misty South Palace will
gain some great fame in the whole Realm of Wildness!" The rest of them nodded in agreement.
Elder Samuel did not decline that offer either. He reached out his hand and took the casting skill
inheritance that was once owned by the Ruin Demi-spiritual Emperor.
Although it would be impossible for him to become a real casting master of Spirit Level unless he
reached the innate spirit stage, his casting skill would be improved greatly if he had that casting skill
inheritance.
Cultivation methods and casting skills were different, but they were connected with each other deeply.
A warrior would be able to comprehend a casting skill and the manual rune would be able to improve a
warrior's combat power to a large extent.
After everything was done, Ricky secretly sighed in relief to himself. Finally, the tough distribution
problem he had faced was solved peacefully.
The trouble could be solved so easily mainly because the five elders valued their friendship much more
than their own achievements. The result might have been totally different otherwise.
If that were the case, Ricky would not have told them about the inheritances he had.
'Ruin Demi-spiritual Emperor, I've fulfilled your last wish to some degree by giving your inheritances to
people deserve them. Although Elder Evan and Elder Samuel are not some kind of geniuses, I'm sure
that they will make the most use of them. Your inheritances will live on through them, ' Ricky thought to Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
himself.
'I promise that I will help them as long as I can.'
After that matter was solved, the elders left and went back to their rooms. As for Ricky, it was time for
him to consider which place outside the Realm of Wildness he should go to enhance his ability at that
point.
Right at that point in time, he heard a message from Zenith.
When he arrived at Zenith's room, he saw that Grace and Soar had already gathered there.
They locked their eyes on Cheryl. From her expression, they concluded that she just had a nice talk
with Zenith before they arrived.
"Are these the outstanding juniors you talked about?" Cheryl asked when she saw them, and stood up
from her chair. She sized them up from head to toe.
"Yes, they are. I'm sure they will live to be the most talented members after they are admitted by the
Oriental College," Zenith replied as he nodded.
His voice was gentle, quite unlike his usual serious tone when he spoke to Cheryl.
"The Oriental College?" Ricky and Soar both murmured in confusion upon hearing the strange name.
Grace, however, reacted differently and her eyes lit up when she heard it.
