Chapter 57: Arrived at the Dimensional Gate

Furano smiled.

“I love you too, Alton.”

Alton was surprised. Furano smiled.

“You already like my close friend.”

Alton watched Furano curiously; he then smiled.

“But, that's not what I mean.”

Furano watched Alton curiously. Alton smiled gently.

“I love you more than a close friend, Furano.”

Furano was surprised; she then smiled.

Not long after, a Scout wizard ran into the room and looked around him carefully. Behind his mask, Daganzo’s expression turned serious; he observed the Scout wizard while kneeling and hid behind the long desk, ready to draw his Existence sword in the scabbard attached to the baldric at his waist to cast magic spells. Furano and Alton also kneeled and alert. Not long after, the Scout wizard received a call via the single earphone in his left ear; he then ran out of the room. Daganzo looked relieved; he then turned to Alton and Furano.

“We can go now.”

Furano and Alton nodded; they then ran out of the room alertly.

The three continued running and arrived at the corridor T-junction with a row of tall metal framed window panes showing the city’s night view and several defense personnel wizards riding their flying broomsticks across the night sky. Some parts of the night sky were still covered by Glass Wall magic spells that were still being lowered by dozens of defense personnel wizards. Several Scout wizards rode their flying broomsticks and patroled around this skyscraper. Daganzo appeared to realize something; he stopped his steps, slightly surprising Alton and Furano, who ran after him from behind and then stopped their steps. Daganzo turned towards Alton and Furano.

“At this rate we won’t be able to get closer to the room containing the Dimensional Gate before the Scout wizards surround us. I have a better idea.”

Furano and Alton’s expressions turned curious. Daganzo took off his cloak and mask. Alton’s expression turned confused.

“Why did you take off your cloak and mask? What if they find out that you cooperate with us?”

Daganzo turned to Alton as he hung his cloak on his left forearm and carried his mask in his right hand.

“They don’t know that this cloaked man is me. I will use this opportunity to catch them off guard and knocked them out.”

Alton and Furano nodded. Furano said.

“Let me bring your cloak and mask.”

Daganzo smiled and nodded; he then handed Furano his cloak and mask. Furano and Alton hid behind the wall of this corridor junction; Daganzo immediately ran towards the corridor they had just passed. Not long after, Daganzo ran into seven Scout wizards chasing them. Daganzo and the seven Scout wizards stopped in their tracks and stood facing each other. Daganzo’s expression turned serious.

“Did you manage to find them?”

The Scout wizards’ expressions before him turned astonished, and some looked at him suspiciously. Daganzo thought.

“If I get caught, I’m done for....”

One of the Scout wizards turned to Daganzo.

“Haven’t we met before?”

After watching them all, Daganzo realized that this Scout wizard was the same person when he asked about the Dimensional Gate’s whereabouts on the 89th floor when he arrived at this floor before. Daganzo smiled.

“Right we have met before.”

The doubtful expressions disappeared on these seven Scout wizards; one of them replied.

“We still haven’t found the targets, so we’ll start looking for them together.”

Daganzo nodded. The Scout wizards walked past Daganzo; he then turned around. Daganzo concentrated.

“Wind Slash.”

Grayish-black wind enveloped Daganzo’s sword blade; he then slashed it toward the Scout wizards before him. A crescent-shaped grayish-black wind shot towards the seven Scout wizards from behind, who were caught off guard and hit them. Some of the Scout wizards were thrown and hit the right or left wall, and some of them were thrown forward and fell onto the floor. The five Scout wizards fell unconscious; two of them were still trying to stand up with difficulty. Daganzo swung his sword and fired Stun magic spells at them, causing them to fall unconscious.

Furano and Alton, who were observing while hiding behind the corridor T-junction wall, were amazed to see what happened; they left their hiding place and ran toward Daganzo. Alton looked around him where there were seven unconscious Scout wizards; his expression turned amazed.

“Your plan is going very well.”

Daganzo smiled and nodded. Furano’s expression turned worried.

“We have to hurry before the other Scout wizards arrived.”

Daganzo and Alton nodded. Daganzo put his cloak and mask back on; he then pointed his sword at the seven unconscious Scout wizards and cast Oblivion magic spells on all of them. Daganzo, Furano, and Alton then ran away, with Daganzo leading the way.

Back to sometime ago. The Scout leader ran down the main corridor and arrived at the expansive open hallway that surrounded the open area in the center of this building. His steps stopped when he saw someone familiar before him, standing among ten Scout wizards who were lying unconscious after being defeated by Daganzo, Furano, and Alton. Scout Division wizards Co-leader wearing a tucked-in long-sleeved shirt, waistcoat, tie, belt, trousers, and loafers; he stood while carrying his Existence sword in his right hand.

“I admit, their abilities are indeed great to be able to defeat the Scout wizards like this.”

The Scout leader looked at the Scout co-leader in astonishment. The Scout co-leader turned to the Scout leader.

“You seem to be in a hurry?”

The Scout leader was surprised; he then appeared to realize something. Scout leader smiled.

“Let me guess, your being here is not a coincidence?”

The Scout co-leader’s expression turned serious.

“You’re not taking action in the way you should. On whose orders are you doing all this?”

The Scout leader was surprised; he then smirked.

“Order? I did this on my own will.”

The Scout co-leader sighed; he then looked at the Scout leader with a deadpan expression.

“Forgive my actions, I was only carrying out orders.”

The Scout leader closed his eyes momentarily while smiling.

“You should have been there too when those three helped us.”

The Scout leader reopened his eyes and smiled coldly as he drew his Existence sword from the scabbard attached to the baldric at his waist.

“Fire Slash.”

Flames enveloped the Scout leader’s sword blade. The Scout co-leader’s expression turned serious.

“Wind Slash.”

A grayish-black wind enveloped his sword blade. The two then ran towards each other.

On the 89th floor. Daganzo, Furano, and Alton ran along the main corridor and found that four Scout wizards were running after them quite far behind. Furano looked back momentarily, then looked forward again.

“They had guessed that we were running toward the Dimensional Gate.”

Daganzo nodded.

“We have to keep going.”

Sometime later, they almost arrived at the room where they were going. Daganzo stopped in his tracks and hid behind the wall at the corridor intersection.

Not too far away, there was a tall double door with embossed carvings all over its surface, which Daganzo and the Researcher leader had previously visited. Before the door, there are two Scout wizards standing guard. The three hid behind the wall at the corridor intersection nearby and observed the two Scout wizards. Furano’s expression turned curious.

“Did those two Scout wizards also have orders to arrest us?”

Daganzo nodded.

“You’re right, what happened before proves that not all of the Scout wizards had orders to arrest us.”

Alton’s expression turned doubtful.

“What should we do?”

They then realized that the other Scout wizards were still trying to chase them towards the Dimensional Gate. Behind his mask, Daganzo’s expression turned serious.

“We can only keep going.”

Furano and Alton nodded.

Daganzo, Furano, and Alton ran while carrying an Existence sword, Soul Dagger, and Handgun of Spellcaster in one of their hands. The two Scout wizards immediately drew their Existence swords from the scabbard at their waists. Alton, Daganzo, and Furano cast Stun magic spells and knocked out the Scout wizards before them; when they arrived before the door, they could see dozens of Scout wizards running from the front and back directions of this corridor. Daganzo drew a pattern on the door before him by scratching the tip of his sword according to the pattern he remembered when the Researcher leader showed it to him. Not long after, the embossed pattern on the entire door began to expand and open in all directions; the door then opened inwards. The three immediately ran into the room.

After they entered the room, the door then closed and the embossed patterns all over the door moved and locked again as before. Outside the room, dozens of Scout wizards ran down the wide corridor while carrying their Existence swords and arrived before the door; one of them immediately drew a pattern on this door using his Existence sword to unlock it.

Inside the room, the lights used to highlight the Dimensional Gate were turned off, causing the room atmosphere to be almost pitch black; Daganzo swung his sword forward.

“Light up.”

The light on the top of one of the tall poles light up.

After the lights are turned on, the inside of this room can be quite visible. An expansive room resembled a hall with a high ceiling that combines two floors of the building. Many magic circle carvings were visible in many corners of the room, and a row of ten rectangular block-shaped pillars were divided into two rows with regular distances between one another in the middle of the room. Alton looked around this room in amazement.

“This room feels magically different from the other rooms in this building that we have been to.”
