Chapter 22: The Glass Walls

One of the male First Earth Wizards rode his flying broomsticks and hovered in midair, watching and leading these wizards. One of the other wizards drew his sword from its scabbard and pointed it forward.

“Glass walls.”

A glass-like barrier with an uneven surface formed and expanded before him. Dozens of other wizards repeated this magical spell at different distances. The glass-like walls they created then merged with each other. Some of these wizards flew up; others flew to the right, left, and down. Those who had spread out their glass walls’ magic spells continued to move until they finally met another group doing the same magic spells. They made these glass-like magical walls as a barrier for every wizard who wanted to leave or enter the city. One of the male Wizards’ squad leaders watched these wizards build the barrier, as he thought.

“Glass walls magic spell is a barrier type magic with the highest level of difficulty and security, it will block the wizards who wants to pass through, and even if they tries to pass through, the part they tries to penetrate will immediately be detected with magical tracking devices, and we will definitely reach their location even before this glass walls have been breached.”

The squad leader’s attention was focused on several humans he saw at the surface; they didn’t appear to realize that there were glass-like walls that filled the city sky.

“Fortunately, the human eye cannot see this glass wall....”

Not long after, the squad leader got a call from someone; he immediately answered it using a single earphone in his left ear.

Elsewhere, the Wizards Government of Spain Prime Minister was in his spacious office room, standing before a row of tall framed window panes showing a beautiful city view outside. He wore a long-sleeved shirt, a waistcoat, a tie, a belt, trousers, and loafers. The Prime Minister looked at the sky and city skyline as many First Earth wizards rode their flying broomsticks, checked the parts of the glass walls barrier that looked paler than its surroundings, then repeated the glass wall magic spells on the paler parts so that it turned to the same color as the surrounding glass walls. The Prime Minister’s expression turned serious as he called one of the First Earth wizards’ squad leaders using the smartphone on his right ear.

“How is the construction development of the glass walls barriers on the city borders?”

The squad leader looked at the glass wall around him as he answered.

“We’re still working on it, sir. We will finish it soon.”

Prime Minister answered.

“We don't know how many Earths out there that may already be connected to First Earth. We can't let them get close to the Book of Dimensional Magic; the magic spells in that book are too dangerous.”

The squad leader’s expression turned serious.

“Understood, sir. We have been on standby throughout the city with our tracking devices.”

Prime Minister replied.

“Good, let me know immediately if there are any problems.”

They then ended their call. The prime minister watched the glass wall barrier construction before him with a serious expression. Back to the squad leader, he then rode his flying broomstick towards one of the other groups of wizards.

“After the construction of the barrier is complete, I want some of you to guard the border, some to join the patrol team, some to guard and discover every dimensional gate that may appear in this city.”

One of the wizards nodded.

“Understood, sir.”

They all divided into several groups and then flew away.

The time was 2:30 pm. Alton, Furano, and Daganzo sat on metal chairs surrounding a round metal table in the middle of one part of the pedestrian roads in the park where they met. Daganzo’s expression turned curious.

“First of all, I would like to tell that you guys may not be able to pass through the dimensional gates for a while with an unknown time limit.”

Furano nodded.

“We found out about that too, when writing suddenly appeared on my book copy. I really didn’t expect something like this to happen. Have you tried checking if the dimensional gate is closed?”

Daganzo nodded.

“Yes, my comrades from the Department of Defense have confirmed it. The gate is closed and no other way has been found to open it. For a while the First Earth Wizard seemed to be happy with this situation, because the problem from Second Earth was solved for the time being.”

Alton nodded.

“At this rate, we won’t be able to return to our Earth for a while, even though the situation on First Earth is getting more and more dangerous for us, but instead we are trapped here. Now we’re having a hard time just getting around the city, wizards from First Earth are patrolling all over the city.”

Daganzo nodded.

“I suggest you two leave this country for a while, outside the reach of the Wizards Government of Spain.”

Furano nodded.

“I will consider that.”

Furano appeared to remember something.

“Regarding our investigation, do you know anything about the First Wizard?”

Daganzo shook his head.

“We don’t know anything about him, unless he was the one who wrote the Book of Dimensional Magic. Scout Division was also being ordered to investigate.”

Furano and Alton are surprised at this and look at each other. Daganzo’s expression turned curious.

“Is there something wrong?”

Furano nodded.

“Yes, we from other Earths don’t know in history that anyone is called the First Wizard. At first we thought this was normal because maybe the First Wizard came from First Earth, where this book was found. But if you don’t know either, then this becomes strange....”

Daganzo crossed his arms.

“Right, the First Wizard can give us important clues.”

Alton remembered something; his expression then turned curious.

“Regarding the book copy, are there any criteria that must be met if we want to make it? Or we can just copy it?”

Daganzo shook his head.

“I don’t know either. Those book copies is made by the Researcher Division, we from the Scout Division only got the book copies without knowing how to make it.”

Alton crossed his arms while propping his chin with his right hand and fell silent momentarily in thought with a serious expression.

“According to the book’s instructions, we can make a copy of it. But without the original book, we can’t really know.”

Daganzo appeared to remember something.

“Actually, I’ve read the original Book of Dimensional Magic and skimmed it. There are many pages of explanatory notes that I didn’t have time to read it at that time.”

Alton grinned.

“What’s going on Daganzo? We were just working together and you want to say that you were caught off guard by something like that?”

Daganzo smiled with an annoyed expression.

“I’m sorry kid, I’ll try reading the book again. This time, more carefully.”

Daganzo and Alton looked at each other with cynical expressions; Furano watched them while holding back a laugh. Daganzo and Alton were surprised and looked at Furano; their expressions then turned embarrassed. Daganzo appeared to realize something, and he then looked at Furano.

“So, you came from Third Earth?”

Furano smiled.

“Third Earth? So, Wizards Government of Spain have set a name for the Earth where I came from?”

Daganzo was slightly surprised; he then nodded and smiled.

“Yes, that is so. Can you….”

Alton watched them and was surprised; he immediately interrupted Daganzo’s words.

“Can you suggest the next plan for me and Furano?”

Daganzo and Furano turned to Alton with slightly surprised expressions. Daganzo appeared to realize something.

“It’s best for you guys to hide for a while until situation are safe. Spain’s Wizards Department of Defense were guarding the city’s borders with magic since last night. I will find out more information first so that you guys can get out of the city borders safely.”

Alton and Furano nodded. Furano appeared to remember something.

“Good idea. We should exchange contacts to be able to communicate with each other.”

Daganzo was slightly surprised.

“Right, I almost forgot about it...”

Alton watched them with a slightly confused expression; he then took out the smartphone that Furano had given him from inside his waist bag.

“By the way, can you guys teach me how to use this device to make calls?”

Furano turned to Alton.

“Yes, of course Alton.”

Furano further taught Alton how to use a smartphone, and Alton could understand quickly and easily because he was interested. Alton’s expression turned curious.

“So that’s it, this device can even be used other than for communication? Very interesting....”

Daganzo looked at Alton curiously, then appeared to realize something. Daganzo looked towards the sky and saw dozens of wizards from the Department of Defense pointing their swords to build a glass-like barrier with an uneven surface that spread rapidly in the sky.

“The wizards from the spain’s Department of Defense are building a barrier to enclose this city.”

Alton and Furano also looked up at the sky and were shocked. Alton said.

“How are we going to get out of this city? Should we try to leave the city now?”
