This man was slightly surprised.
“New member? Well, nice to meet you, too.”
Daganzo smiled and nodded.
“I’m new to this Division, so I still need to learn many things. May I know where the Dimensional Gate we usually pass is located?”
This man appeared to have realized something.
“Dimensional Gate? Have you never been pass through it before?”
Daganzo nodded.
“The incident where the Dimensional Gates were locked has postponed my assignment to visit Second Earth.”
This man nodded.
“The Dimensional Gate is in one of the Researcher Division’s trial rooms on the 89th floor.”
Daganzo was surprised.
“On the 89th floor? How could that be?”
This man smiled.
“Everyone who hears it for the first time will not expect it. The gate was there because the magic was first activated while being tested by the Researcher Division. That one room is also part of the Researcher Division, which is tasked with researching it, and the Scout Division, which is tasked with guarding it and using it to go to Second Earth.”
Daganzo nodded with a curious expression.
“Okay, thanks for the information.”
This man smiled.
“Of course; I look forward to working with you.”
Daganzo smiled and nodded. The man before him then walked away. Daganzo’s expression turned deadpan; he then crossed his arms with a serious expression.
“So this whole time, the Gate was so close to me, and I didn’t even notice it….”
Daganzo appeared to realize something; his expression turned disturbed.
“It’s too dangerous for Furano and Alton to use the gate here, especially since the room is in this building....”
Daganzo stood leaning against the wall behind him, looking around warily. Daganzo took out his smartphone from the inner pocket of his overcoat and called Furano. In another place, Furano, having dinner with Alton at a restaurant, picked up the call.
“Yes, Daganzo, it’s me.”
Daganzo replied while occasionally observing his surroundings.
“There is something important I wanted to tell you.”
Furano’s expression turned curious. Daganzo resumed talking.
“This is about the Dimensional Gate in this city; it is located in one of the rooms on the 89th floor of the Wizards Government of Spain, central building.”
Furano was surprised.
“Why is it there?”
Daganzo answered.
“This is because the Researcher Division was the first to try the magic spells from that book in their laboratory.”
Furano’s expression turned curious.
“Okay, Alton and I will plan how to get there.”
Daganzo was surprised.
“I don’t recommend you come here; this building has become more guarded than ever.”
Furano’s expression turned astonished.
“Is there no other way to get out of this city?”
Daganzo’s expression turned doubtful.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
“I will try to find other information. There must be another way; I’ll let you know soon.”
Furano’s expression turned doubtful.
“Okay, thank you, Daganzo.”
They then ended their respective calls. Furano’s expression turned gloomy, and Alton watched her curiously.
“It doesn’t sound good; bad news?”
Furano nodded.
“Yes, the Dimensional Gates in this city is located on the 89th floor of the Wizards Government of Spain central building.”
Alton was surprised; Furano appeared to realize something and continued speaking.
“No wonder my magical ability didn’t notice any unusual magical energy; the many wizards in that building must have covered the magical energy from that gate. We have searched so far, and it turns out the gate is in the place we most avoid.”
Alton nodded, his expression turning disturbed.
“Yes, we can’t possibly try to break through it; that building is the center of all these enhanced defenses.”
Alton appeared to realize something.
“Wait a minute, doesn’t this mean we’re trapped in here, even if the Dimensional Gates open again?”
Furano’s expression turned disturbed.
“True, but we must still try to reach the gate.”
Alton nodded.
“We can just wait until the Dimensional Gate opens again and go back there?”
Furano’s expression turned disturbed.
“Yes, but the problem is, we don’t know when the gate will open.”
Alton’s expression turned confused.
“Isn’t there any writing that appears in the book?”
Furano looked doubtful; she then showed the back cover of the copy of the Book of Dimensional Magic where the writing had previously appeared.
“I just checked my book copy again, and the writing was gone.”
Alton looked at the back cover of this book carefully, and indeed, the notification writing that appeared before had disappeared. Alton’s expression turned confused.
“What does that mean? Does this mean we can pass through the gate?”
Furano’s expression turned doubtful.
“I also do not know. We’ll ask Daganzo if the Dimensional Gate has opened again.”
Alton nodded. Furano called Daganzo, who soon connected with him again.
“You contacted me again pretty fast?”
Furano smiled.
“It’s about the dimensional gate. We must make sure the gate can be passed.”
Daganzo answered.
“No problem. Just wait to hear from me.”
They then ended the call. Furano turned to Alton.
“Now we just need to wait for news from him.”
Alton nodded. They then continued their dinner.
Sometime later, their dinner was only half finished. Furano read her investigation files on her smartphone while waiting for news from Daganzo, while Alton studied the smartphone that Furano gave him with a curious expression. Furano looked at Alton curiously and realized that on Alton’s left chest part of his school vest, there was his school’s emblem in the form of a shield with a winged dragon picture on the shield’s surface. Furano’s expression turned curious.
“Are you busy, Alton?”
Alton immediately turned to Furano and put his smartphone on the table.
“No, do you need anything?”
Furano nodded.
“I’m curious; why are you wearing a school uniform?”
Alton was slightly surprised, looking at his school uniform momentarily and looking back at Furano.
“Oh, this? I went to a school that prioritized learning to become a Scout Division. Towards our final years at school, we will be assigned to the Scout Division, which is also part of our final exams.”
Furano was surprised.
“So that’s how it is; it’s only natural that you’re used to all this.”
Alton nodded. Alton took his smartphone and studied it again with a curious expression. Furano watched Alton curiously. Not long after, Alton pointed his smartphone camera at Furano as he smiled cheerfully.
“Smile.”
Furano was slightly surprised; she then smiled. Alton then took her photo with the flash on, surprised Furano slightly, and she closed her eyes. Furano opened her eyes and looked back at Alton with a slightly astonished expression. Alton smiled and showed Furano the photo he had just taken.
“How? Now I can use this device to take a photo.”
Furano smiled.
“Let’s take a photo together.”
Alton was surprised; his expression turned nervous. Furano took Alton’s smartphone and asked for help one of the visitors sitting at the table next to them to take a photo of them. Furano looked at Alton.
“This table is in the way. Sit next to me, Alton.”
Alton was surprised; he got up from his seat and then sat beside Furano slightly awkwardly. Alton and Furano looked at the camera while smiling; the visitor took their photo and then returned the smartphone to Alton. Alton looked at the photo with Furano and smiled happily. Furano watched Alton curiously, then smiled. Alton put his smartphone in the pocket of his trousers. Alton looked sleepy; he then crossed his arms on the table and used them as a pillow while looking at Furano beside him with a sleepy expression.
“Thank You.”
Furano’s expression turned astonished.
“Thanks? What for?”
Alton closed his eyes.
“For the photo.”
Furano smiled.
“Why are you thanking me just for a photo?”
Alton didn’t answer because he had fallen asleep. Furano was surprised, her expression turning slightly astonished.
“He fell asleep?”
Furano watched Alton curiously and then smiled.
Back to Daganzo, he walked along the corridor on the 50th floor, lit by dimly glowing wall lamps, and passed several other members of the Scout Division. Daganzo drew his sword from the scabbard attached to the baldric at his waist, then pointed it forward.
“Come, Eagle Feather.”
Daganzo walked out of the corridor he was walking through and arrived at an open hallway in the middle of the building. Not long after, Daganzo’s broomstick flew at him from the front, then hovered beside him. Daganzo got on his broomstick and then flew away from here.
Daganzo flew higher and higher up the floors of this building and arrived at the 89th floor. Daganzo landed in the open hallway on this floor, then got off his broomstick; the broomstick then flew away from here. Daganzo looked around him; some people here were wearing suits covered with lab coats, loafers and carrying documents they were reading, or attache case bags. Some of the people here wore suits covered with overcoats and loafers. Daganzo walked towards one of the men who was reading a document in his hand.
“Sorry to interrupt your time. Can we talk?”
This man was slightly surprised and turned to Daganzo.
“Yes, of course.”
Daganzo smiled.
“I am a new member of the Scout Division and want to visit the room where the Dimensional Gate is located for the first time, but I don’t know exactly where it is yet.”
