Inside the library building, Furano was sitting at a long table reading a book, and Alton was still copying a copy of the book of Dimensional Magic. Not long after, Furano’s smartphone, which was lying on the table before her, rang; she took it and was slightly surprised to find out that Daganzo was calling her. Furano answered this call.
“Yes, Daganzo?”
Hearing that Daganzo contacted Furano, Alton’s attention focused on the book he was copying, then turned to Furano with a curious expression. Daganzo’s expression turned serious.
“I received information that the Wizards Department of Defense who are patrolling the city will get a new device that can better track presences from outside the universe. Not only that, this device can also attack its target with fatality.”
Furano was surprised. Daganzo continued speaking.
“You’d better be careful, because the Researcher Division leader is very confident that this device could find the targets.”
Furano’s expression turned worried.
“Have you seen that device?”
Daganzo answered as he observed his surroundings momentarily.
“Yes, because as part of the scout division, I have access to that place. It is some kind of magical automaton bird.”
Furano’s expression turned astonished.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of it, is that one of the magical technologies from that book?”
Daganzo looked convinced.
“That’s right, who knows what other technologies they could develop from the magical knowledge in that book. From now on, I will monitor the Researcher Division.”
Furano answered as she turned to Alton momentarily.
“I understand, I’ll tell Alton too, since we’re still together.”
Daganzo answered.
“Good, you guys better stay together for the time being.”
Furano’s expression turned worried.
“Is it possible for you to get one of those new tracking devices? We might be able to learn its weaknesses.”
Daganzo appeared to realize something.
“I’ll try to get it, I’ll call you if I get anything.”
Furano answered.
“Okay, I understand.”
They then ended their respective calls. Furano keeps her smartphone in the pocket of her trousers. Alton watched Furano curiously.
“Is there any more bad news?”
Furano turned to Alton, then nodded.
“Spain’s Wizards Department of Defense developed a new detection device that can work better, and can even attacks the targets. According to Daganzo, the new device is some kind of magical automaton bird.”
Alton was surprised.
“Automaton? I hope we can overcome it….”
Furano smiled and nodded. Furano appeared to remember something; she then stood up from her chair, pulled out her black armored cloak from inside the black panel, and looked at it curiously.
“This cloak should be able to hide the wearer’s presences from the tracking devices.”
Alton stood up from his chair and looked at Furano curiously.
“Doesn’t that mean the magic from that cloak is stronger than the book of Dimensional Magic?”
Furano was slightly surprised; she then smiled and nodded. Furano put on her cloak as she answered.
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
“That’s right, this cloak even has other abilities.”
Alton looked increasingly curious.
“Other abilities?”
Furano nodded.
“You can use this cloak to parry any kind of attacks and this cloak will negate it no matter how powerful the attacks are. But we still have to be careful, because only attacks that hit this cloak are affected.”
Alton was surprised.
“But, how is that possible?”
Furano smiled.
“It’s all because of the magical abilities from this cloak.”
Alton was silent in thought momentarily as he supported his chin with his right hand.
“That book alone is very rare, I wonder what about the rarity level of this cloak.”
Furano appeared to remember something.
“If it had to be ranked, it might go beyond S.”
Alton was surprised.
“It seems we have hope of surviving the First Earth wizards attacks.”
Furano was surprised; she then smiled and nodded. Alton fell silent in thought while propping his chin with his left hand. Furano appeared to realize something; she looked around her warily, and there was nothing suspicious.
“If the First Earth wizards’ new devices are as Daganzo says, then we might can’t escape. The only thing left is for us to try to get to the Dimensional Gate in the Wizards Government of Spain central building.”
Alton nodded and then took out his soul dagger from his waist bag.
“You’re right, now we can only prepare ourselves as best as possible.”
Furano smiled; she then nodded.
Wizards Government of Spain central building.
Daganzo walked away from a row of framed window panes before him that showed beautiful city views and the night sky enclosed with Glass Walls magic spell. Daganzo walked along the main corridor on the 89th floor towards the center of this building. Not long after, Daganzo saw two male personnel from the Scout Division wearing suits covered with overcoats, loafers, and Existence swords sheathed in scabbards attached to baldrics at their waists. The two personnel stood guard before the door of the room Daganzo had been in before, which contained a Dimensional Gate. Daganzo walked to this door and greeted his two Scout Division comrades with a curious expression.
“You guys are guarding this door now?”
One of his comrades nodded.
“Right, we received orders not to allow anyone to enter this room for an indefinite period of time, even us on guard also not allowed to enter this room.”
Daganzo was slightly surprised as he thought.
“This means I can’t check whether the dimensional gate is already open or not....”
Daganzo smiled.
“Okay, thanks for the information.”
Daganzo then walked away.
Sometime later, Daganzo arrived at the wide open hallways in the center of this building, connecting eight building structures that formed like eight pillars surrounding the open section in the center from the first floor to the 90th floor. These open hallways were even busier than when Daganzo arrived, by people from the Researcher and Scout Division. Daganzo walked while looking around him and realized something; he stopped in his tracks. Daganzo saw in the distance if the Researcher Division leader stood before the elevator door. Daganzo was slightly surprised as he thought.
“Where is he going?”
Daganzo drew his sword from the scabbard attached to the baldric at his waist and swung it forward.
“Come, Eagle Feather.”
After some time, Daganzo’s broomstick flew to him and then hovered beside him. On the other hand, the elevator door before the researcher leader opened; he then walked into it, and the elevator door closed. Not long after, the elevator started moving down. Daganzo got on his broomstick with a curious expression, then flew downwards through the open section in the center of the building.
Daganzo carefully rode his flying broomstick while keeping an eye on the elevator where the Researcher Division leader was inside. Daganzo flew at an altitude several floors higher than this elevator moves. The elevator stopped on the 55th floor, and the doors opened. The Researcher leader walked out of the elevator and was greeted by several people wearing mechanic uniforms; they then chatted. Daganzo noticed that and then landed in the open hallway on the 56th floor opposite the open hallway where the Researcher Leader was located, with many people wearing mechanic uniforms walking around and people wearing suits covered in overcoats and loafers. Daganzo got off his broomstick and then carried it in his right hand. Daganzo leaned forward against the open hallway railing as he leaned his broomstick beside him and carefully watched the Researcher Leader in the distance as he thought.
“Floors 55th to 61st are specifically for the factory section, it seems like he wants to take part in supervising the production of the phoenix automatons?”
Daganzo’s expression turned curious as he kept watching.
Outside the building, dozens of First Earth wizards’ from the Department of Defense wearing suits covered with overcoats, loafers, and carrying Existence swords sheathed on scabbards attached to baldrics at their waists. These wizards are part of the defense personnel; they ride their broomsticks across the night sky enclosed by the Glass Walls magic spell in the form of a glass wall with an uneven surface. They flew closer to the building and went through the barrier that protects and hides the entrance gate of this building located on the tenth floor. They arrived at the guest hall, got off their broomsticks, and then carried it in their right or left hands. These defense personnel walked together past the Front Desk and along the wide main corridor. One of the defense personnel’s expressions turned curious.
“So, it’s true that the new tracking device is ready to be used?”
One of his comrades walking beside him nodded.
“Right, according to the Department of Defense leader’s instructions, we will go to the factory and get the devices.”
One of the other wizards near them nodded.
“I heard that the device hasn’t been finished testing, what if the device endangers us?”
The comrades next to him shook his head.
“I don’t know either, but they confirmed that safety trials for their users have been completed and showed good results.”
His two comrades nodded. They arrived at the open hallway, got on their respective broomsticks, and flew up through the open section in the center of the building.
