One of the researchers carrying documents in his hand noticed the Researcher Division leader’s arrival and then walked over to him.
“The device we made has reached the final experimental stage. The data has been sent to the factory, and it is now in the production preparation stage. We just need to do additional trials to determine if errors are still possible in use.”
The leader nodded.
“Good, I’ll check it now.”
The leader walked to one part of this room, a pocket watch with beautiful embossed patterns decorating it, lying on the long table. The leader took this pocket watch and showed it to Daganzo.
“This is the new detection device.”
Daganzo received this pocket watch and examined its outside part carefully. Daganzo opened this pocket watch, and inside was an ordinary watch. Daganzo’s expression turned curious.
“Looks no different from the previous detection device?”
The leader smiled; he then walked to another table beside him, which had something covered with a cloth on it; he then opened the cloth.
Behind this cloth is a metal statue of a phoenix folding its body while standing with its head bowed, a size twice as eagles in general, and in the chest part of it is a slot for placing something. Daganzo was surprised to see this phoenix statue.
“A phoenix statue?”
The leader smiled and nodded.
“You can press the button on the side of the pocket watch to activate it.”
Daganzo turned to the leader and nodded; he then pressed the button on the side of the pocket watch. Not long after, a magic circle made of light in the shape of a clockwork appeared on it. The leader resumed talking.
“As usual, a magic circle appears on this pocket watch, and you can use it as a tracking device as usual. Now, press the button one more time.”
Daganzo nodded and pressed the button once again. Not long after, in the center of this magic circle, a new light formed into something resembling a glowing red stone, slightly surprising him. The leader resumed talking.
“Now you just need to put the pocket watch into the slot on that statue.”
Daganzo’s expression turned curious; he then placed the pocket watch into the slot of this metal statue, and the stone-shaped light entered it. The pocket watch and its clockwork began to change shape, merge with this statue, and turn the gears inside it. The eyes of this statue then opened, showing the machines and gears in the eyes that rotate like clockwork. All parts of the statue began to move, creating gaps in the joints all over its body, revealing gears and machines resembling sturdy clockwork inside its body. These gaps then emitted the same color of light as the previous rock-shaped light, forming patterns all over the body. This statue spread its wings, flapped them several times momentarily, then folded them again and watched Daganzo. Daganzo was surprised.
“Is this a magical automaton?”
The leader nodded.
“Thats right. This tracker is very practical; it will fly around by itself and react if the presence from outside the universe come within its detection range. The bird then flies towards the targets. We just need to follow it.”
Daganzo nodded; he watched the automaton phoenix before him. Daganzo raised his hand to this phoenix, then stroked its head, causing this phoenix to watch Daganzo curiously. Daganzo was surprised as he pulled his hand back.
“Its shape and behavior are very similar to living beings.”
The leader smiled and nodded.

“Yes, we make it as good as possible. The bird will also protected its user.”
Daganzo’s expression turned slightly astonished.
“What happens after this bird fly toward its target?”
The leader’s expression turned doubtful.
“They will attacks mostly to knocked them out.”
Daganzo was surprised as he thought.
“Mostly? So, there is a possibility that this automaton could be dangerous to the targets?”
The leader resumed talking.
“If you want to deactivate this automaton, you just need to turn the pocket watch part that merged to this automaton’s chest.”
Daganzo nodded; he then turned the pocket watch on the bird’s chest, which required more strength, so Daganzo had difficulty doing it. The phoenix automaton turned back into a statue; Daganzo then removed the pocket watch from the slot on the statue’s chest with a surprised expression. Daganzo returned the pocket watch to the leader.
“Very useful device, sir. I hope I can use it later, too.”
The leader received this pocket watch.
“Of course, Daganzo. You are part of the Scout Division.”
Daganzo smiled and nodded. Not long after, one of the Researcher Division’s members received a brief phone call and then walked over to the leader.
“I just got a call from the Department of Defense, they want to use the tracking device tonight, sir.”
The leader and Daganzo were surprised.
“Tonight? But the device still has to go through several tests and possibly further improvement.”
The researcher nodded.
“But unfortunately, that’s what the Department of Defense is asking for.”
The leader crossed his arms, and his expression turned serious.
“Okay, tell them if we agree.”
Daganzo was surprised. The researcher nodded.
“Of course, sir.”
The researcher walked away from here. Daganzo was surprised as he thought.
“I better immediately warn Furano and Alton about this.”
Daganzo forced a smile.
“Okay, thank you for the information, sir. I’ll excuse myself.”
The leader nodded with a deadpan expression.
“Yes, of course.”
Daganzo smiled and nodded, then walked away from here.
In the library building, Furano and Alton walked down the stairs and arrived at an open hallway with a row of beautifully carved pillars at a regular distance surrounding the open part of the building in the center. This open hallway and the other floor have high bookshelves arranged in an orderly manner, and sliding ladders are provided in various places in this building. Around the middle of the first floor are long tables with chairs and table lamps. The high ceiling of this library is decorated with beautiful carvings and a row of several framed glass window panes at regular intervals, showing views of the night sky and rows of classical-style lamps. The atmosphere of this library is still quite busy, with people still reading or looking for books. Alton was amazed to see this place.
“I’ll take a blank book and start copying, how about you?”
Furano looked around her momentarily, then looked at Alton.
“I will study the First Earth further.”
Alton smiled and nodded.
Some time later. Alton sat at one of the long tables in this library room; Alton was preparing to copy a book into a blank book he got from this library, while Furano sat next to Alton while reading with a pile of books on the table before her. Alton read the copy of the book of Dimensional Magic with an astonished expression as he thought.
“The drawings that I have to copy from this book are quite complicated. Copying it will take time.”
Alton started copying this book into another book using a pen.
Sometime later, Alton was still copying this book. Not long after, Alton’s expression turned deadpan. Alton’s attention then fell on Furano sitting in the chair next to him, reading a book. Alton put his right elbow on the table and popped his right cheek with his right hand while looking at Furano beside him.
“Can I ask something?”
Furano came to her senses; her attention that was focused on the book before her, then turned to Alton.
“Yes, what is it?”
Alton’s expression turned curious.
“Do you prefer dog or cat?”
Furano momentarily fell silent in thought while propping her chin with her right hand momentarily.
“Maybe a wolf?”
Alton’s expression turned confused.
“Wolf?”
Furano smiled.
“Right, I just like it.”
Alton nodded, his expression turning curious.
“Then… do you prefer Daganzo or Alton?”
Furano was slightly surprised; she then smiled.
“Of course I like you two.”
Alton was surprised; he then leaned his back against the backrest of his chair as his expression turned slightly confused.
“Oh, I see.”
Furano watched Alton and smiled while holding back laughter. Alton turned to Furano and was slightly surprised; he then smiled. Alton raised his hands and imitated a wolf with a cheerful but somewhat gloomy expression.
“But, being a wolf are feels lonely and not lonely at the same time.”
Furano’s expression turned confused.
“What do you mean?”
Alton was surprised; he then lowered his hands while smiling.
“Oh right, I have to copy this book.”
Alton continued copying the Book of Dimensional Magic on the table slightly awkwardly. Furano watched Alton curiously, then smiled.
Back to Daganzo, he walked along the wide corridor on the 89th floor, which was quite busy with scout and researcher division members. Daganzo walked with a serious expression while looking around him warily. Daganzo arrived at a long corridor with a row of metal-framed window panes on the left, and rows of doors at regular distances and corridor junctions on the right. Daganzo observed his surroundings and ensured the situation was safe; he then took out his smartphone from the inner pocket of his overcoat and contacted Furano.
