Haley had taken her time to heal all her wounds, she had wrapped Shirley in a cloth and put three of her purple feathers on her body. Haley had made two large blades with red energy. “It is time Shirley, I am going to avenge you. Brent took away our chance to see if we could become something more than what we had, now, I am going to take his life.”
A woman in tattered clothing stormed into the house, she looked at Haley, then at the body wrapped in a cloth. “Oh no, is Shirley?”
Haley grabbed one of her feathers and gave it to the woman, “You must be one of Shirley’s contacts?” The woman nodded. “Alright, my dad is coming this way, you need to get this message to him, Brent is gearing up for a fight, I am going to kill him. Tell them Shirley died.” She nodded and ran away with the feather. Haley walked outside and followed the streets to where the main square is.
Red energy infused her body, she hoped she was walking the right way, Haley shed a tear, remembering the countless hours Shirley showed her the maps and talked about the city. Eventually, she got to a plain with a fountain in the middle, a palace in the background and skyscrapers around her. A guard tried to stop her, she swiftly cut his throat.
Brent stood there, leaning on his sword. “I see the coward has come out to play.” He tilted his head, “You are wearing her necklace, a locker with a photograph of her parents.”
Haley grunted, “You killed her, how dare you take that away from me.”
Brent gasped, “This is priceless, you loved her, didn’t you? You fell like a brick for the little sad orphan.”
Haley clenched her fists around the handles of her swords. “You are not allowed to talk about her in that way.”
Brent pulled up his sword and infused it with all his elemental energy. “I took you down with ease the last time, what is different this time around?”
Haley screamed, “You fucking took her from me, I am no longer holding back, I have no clue what power resided inside of me, but you are going to get the full brunt of it!” Elemental energy started pouring out of Haley, and she screamed as she infused herself with red energy, dark energy, silver energy, green energy and moon energy. As she powered up, rocks started to lift off the ground.
Then huge cracks started to form in the ground and skyscrapers started to crumble into pieces. Brent looked around, “Holy crap, don’t you realize how many people you have just killed?” Haley slowly walked forward, “Does it look like I care?”
Brent sighed, “You are one big nasty villain Haley!”
She charged forward and slashed two swords at Brent. He blocked them, and they started trading blows, energy collided in the air and all things in their path got shattered to pieces. Brent grunted as he shot beams at Haley, she easily deflected them. Brent screamed as he swung down his sword, “Where did this power come from!?”
Haley yelled, “Because you murdered the woman I wanted to see what the future had in store for us. You took that away from me.”
Brent slashed his sword down again, “You took my son away from me!”
Haley teleported behind him and slashed the back of his leg, “There is a difference Brent.”
“Lance could have defended himself, and he wanted to kill me. Shirley was defenseless!” They continued trading blows and many people ran away, energy collided and rung through the air. Haley jumped back and absorbed the lingering energy as threw two swords into the air. Haley gathered all the energy and shot a huge energy beam.

Brent sheathed his sword and shot a huge energy beam in return. The beams collided in the middle and Haley kept pushing more energy into the beam. She decided to take a different approach. Haley let the beam come closer, taking in more energy. Then she jumped up and teleport behind Brent, pushing her sword through his gut, he turned around and slashed his giant sword into her left side.
Haley grunted in pain as her purple blood splattered everywhere. Haley grabbed the sword and pushed it out of her. Brent tried to headbutt Haley, but she pushed her hand on his head and assaulted his mind with images of Lance dying. He shot a beam and they both launched backwards. Brent slowly got up as he twirled his sword, “What was that for mean trick? Something the void taught you?”
Haley stretched her hands and her swords floated back to her. Haley gloated, “Just because an element is rampant, does not make it evil. It does not make me evil. I came here to talk with you, about that artifact.”
Brent charged forward, “You are not getting it!” Haley defended herself and they continued trading blows.
Haley jumped away over the rubble, using rage energy to throw it at Brent. She could feel she was pushing her body to the limit, she could not hold much more energy, but this was not enough. She had to take it one step further. Even if it might kill or cripple her. She started infusing herself with another element, her void element. Brent gasped, “See, you are from the void!” He slashed his sword down and Haley blocked it with her bare hand, purple blood splashed around.
Haley kicked Brent and he flew aside. Haley jumped and used her wings to glide down at fast speed and landed with an elbow on Brent, a lot of his bones cracked in his body. Quickly, Haley grabbed her sword and put her boot on his chest.
Haley panted and pointed her sword at his heart, “Now, you will die.”
Brent started laughing, “You won, neat trick kiddo.”
Haley grunted, “What is funny?”
Brent used his energy to open up a screen. Haley saw her mom and dad, Funk and Abby walk through the asylum. There were explosive charges everywhere. Brent grabbed the sword and put it to his heart. “Do it, it is tied to my life force, if you kill me, it goes boom. You know that Haley.”
She looked at the sword, if she kills him right now, they will explode, Abby might survive it. But killing Brent right now will kill Funk, and her mom and dad.
Brent smiled, “It seems I outplayed you kiddo. You are young and strong but also inexperienced. I had a back-up plan all the time. Come on, you want to kill me, right? Do it, push that sword through me. Avenge Shirley!”
Brent kept taunting her, “We both know your body cannot take this rage for much longer, and once it fades, your power level goes back to normal. It is now or never Haley. Kill me, or you won’t get a second chance!”
Haley threw the sword away. “You win Brent, you outplayed me, putting my family at risk, killing them in the process is not something I can do.”
Brent got up as Haley let energy evaporate into thin air. “Now come with me,” they walked through some alleyways, then she came to another square. This one had a podium, and Lucy near it. Some people had gathered, including the Reader.
Brent dragged Haley onto the wooden podium, people gasped they saw how wounded he was. Lucy looked at him, “She put a lot of hurt on you.”
“Yeah, I know, were the skyscrapers evacuated in time?”
Lucy nodded, “Yes, there were just a few guards.”
Haley gasped, “You filthy liar.”
Brent chuckled, “I expected you to come there and make a big fuzz, I never expected you to demolish whole skyscrapers though.”
Brent put Haley down on her knees. The Reader walked over and gave him a giant axe. Brent let out a deep sigh, “This woman killed Lance, some of your friends, demolished our city.” “She is a hell spawn of the void, just look at her tail, and her wings. Today, I will bring justice, as her head is going to roll.”
Haley let herself get put in a stockade, only for her head. She let out a tear, “Sorry Shirley, I have failed you.”
