Funk had just buried Sasha, and Abby came back with the black herbs. Funk pulled out the sword and cleaned my wound with water. Then he put the herb in my wound. I grunted in pain while looking at Funk, “That hurts.”
He sighed, “You will be fine. Your wound barely bleeds, you got lucky.”
Abby sighed in relief, “It is good to hear that he will be fine. What is our plan now?”
Funk smiled, “We rest, then we go on when the sun starts to rise. Are you alright with that, Steve?”
I grunted in pain, “I am fine with a lot, as long as I don’t get stabbed again.”
I spawned the ambulance and Funk just looked at it as he spoke up, “Of course, he spawns a modern vehicle.”
Then I climbed inside and lay down on the stretcher. Abby looked at me, “I am taking that chair.” Funk sighed and went into the tree. Abby laughed, “It seems you were right, this ambulance will be useful after all.”
Someone knocked on the door after I had taken a nap, Funk looked at me, “We should get going. I cleaned up the camp, we almost made it to Brickton.”
Abby yawned and stretched, “We should get going then.”
As I got up, I looked at my wounds, “This place is not being very friendly towards me. Let us hope, the rest of the way is less troublesome.” After getting out of the ambulance, I picked it up again, it might be broken, but it still is a good sleeping spot.
Abby smiled at me, “Come on, hurry, I need decent clothes, and if possible some armor.”
I sighed in frustration, “Yes, I know, I agree with you.”
Funk pointed, “Come on, the road is being lit by the sun.”
We started making our way over the brick road, my wound did hurt, but I can live with it. We just kept walking, Funk slowed down and looked at me, “Are you fine? You are not much of a talker.”
I chortled, “There are just many things going through my mind. Getting to this new place, learning about new races, and much more. For you, it might seem normal, but I am from a different reality.”
Funk smiled, “I think you belong here more than you realize, is there anything you would like to know?”
I nodded, “Sure, what kind of races are there?”
Funk seemed to be thinking for a moment before answering, “Well, there are the major ones that have survived so far, the humans, the Minites, the Bread race, and some Insectines. There are some other races, rare ones, or a few survivors. Like the Elves and Dwarves, however, you barely see them around. We also have the Tigress race, but I do not think many of them are around anymore. In Brickton, there are mostly a mix of races, maybe even a few Lizardians. We will most likely meet some other races on our journey.”
Abby smiled at me, “It sounds like fun, who knows we might see something new!”
I nodded, “I am curious to see what Brickton is like.”
While we continued to Brickton, I let this information sink in, I am still getting used to Funk being a friend. He did betray us, but now he is helping us. It made no sense at all. He must have a good reason. Whatever the case, I will have to trust him for now. After a few more hours of walking, with nothing exciting happening at all, I finally saw Brickton on the horizon. It looked majestic. The city of Brickton is built amidst the lush grasses of an evergreen pasture and is truly a phenomenon to see if you are used to the buildings in my reality. Its beauty is matched by the backdrop of forest and, further ahead, mountains. The materials these mountains brought were of great importance, but they were also influential when it came to architectural designs. The vast majority of buildings have been built with many natural elements to keep in line with the nearby mountains and forests.
As we came closer, I noticed two human guards, they wore shiny red armor. Funk looked at me, “Just ignore them, we need to get to a clothing shop for you two.”
One of the guards looked at me, he just smirked at me. I sighed and ignored him, then we walked into the town. The name Brickton is apt, the stones are massive bricks, not like the normal bricks we have in my reality. There were many stores everywhere I looked. Funk pointed at a clothing store, Abby immediately started to walk that way.
I looked at her, “Are you that eager to get new clothes?”
She gazed at me with furious eyes, “I am walking around in leaves, and they are falling apart.”
Funk looked at me, “She has a point.”
I shrugged, “Fine, let’s hurry.” We walked into the clothing store and many racks with different types of clothes were lined up. However, I looked at the woman in adventuring gear running the shop. I immediately walked over to her. “Hello there, the name is Steve.”
The woman stared at me before speaking up with a flirtatious tone, “And you are not afraid of me?”
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
I looked at her. Brown, sleek hair awkwardly hangs over a handsome, lived-in face. Hooded brown eyes, set graciously within her sockets. That is not everything, she had giant wolf like ears, they were brown with specks of white in them. She swept her tail to her side, showing it to me, her tail is also brown but with a few more white streaks in it. I smiled at her, “I feel rather excited to see you.”
The woman smiled back at me, baring her fangs, “The name is Lorraine. It takes quite some confidence to hit on a wolf person, in your underwear no less.”
I grinned, “That is the reason that I am here. There are some things we need to do in the town but, perhaps we can meet later. If you are interested.”
Lorraine caressed me with her hand, she had these long nails, “Oh I am interested alright. Almost everyone fears me, and in walks a man, in his underwear, and he hits on me.”
I grimaced at her, “Well, to be fair, it looks as if I hit the jackpot when I landed in this new reality.”
She let out a big smile, “Go to the Flower inn, I will be there tonight.”
“Great, now can you please help me get some human clothes?”
Lorraine helped me pick out some clothes, Abby paid no attention to me. After getting dressed, I looked into a mirror. My long sleeved black cloth jacket covers me to just below my waist. I wore a casual white shirt under it. The sleeves of this jacket are a little wide and reach down to below my hands, they’re decorated with a single thread lining at the end of the sleeves. The jacket has a deep, round neckline which reveals part of the rough shirt worn below it and is worn with a long cloth band, which is held together by a large belt buckle. My pants are simple and incredibly wide and reach down to my leather shoes. The shoes are made from a fairly rare leather, but are otherwise a common design.
I adjusted my jacket a little, “I think, this suits me perfectly. What do you think, Funk?” He just gave me a thumbs up. I smiled at him before looking at Abby, who was still browsing, “And what do you think, Abby?”
She sighed, “Your new look is fine with me.”
Then I looked at Lorraine, “Most importantly, what do you think?”
She grinned, “You look like a stud.”
“Great, that is what I am going for.”
Abby sighed again, “Are you done flirting?”
Lorraine whispered in my ear, “I bet she is jealous you are not giving her as much attention as me.”
I chuckled at Lorraine, “She is just a friend.”
Abby hung her head, “I am going to try this dress.” After a while, Abby came back, “How does this dress suit me?”
Her ornate blue dress flows from top to bottom and has a v-neckline, which daintily reveals the fancy dress worn below it. The soft, corset of her dress covers her stomach, where the continuous flow is broken up by a light leather belt worn quite high around her waist.
I nodded, “It looks good on you.” Then I looked at Lorraine, “What is it going to cost?”
She whispered very softly, “If you help me have a good time tonight, then nothing.”
“That sounds great.”
Abby stormed outside, I guess she did hear that, Funk looked at me while shaking his head, “I will follow her.”
“Thanks, Funk.”
I looked at Lorraine, “Well, that leaves us all alone here. Why don’t you tell me something about yourself?”
Lorraine smiled, “Alright. Well, my mom also works in the shop, our home got taken by the void. I don’t think there are many wolf people around. And before you ask, no, I am not a werewolf. Those are an entire different race. While I have wolf like attributes, I am mostly human. You can see my cute face, right?”
I gave her a charming smile, “Yes, your face is charming.”
Lorraine smiled, “I am always half human and half wolf. But a werewolf changes during full moon, but I do have a good nose. You smell like a special person. I just wish I could see my home again. It is so hard to find someone who is interested in me, people fear me.”
She grinned widely, and I saw her sharp teeth, I whispered in her ear “Those look sharp, can I touch them?”
She giggled, “of course you can.”
I touched her sharp teeth, “I bet, you can rip people to shreds with these.”
Lorraine laughed, “of course I can.”
She smiled, “And what about you?”
“Well, I am a human, I think. No, not really. I have no clue what I am. However, I am from a different reality. I just landed here, and I am trying to find my footing. We are even heading out for a journey.”
Lorraine gasped, “Can I please join your adventure? I promise you that I can help you, I won’t be a bother.”
I smiled, “Well, it sounds like a good plan. We can discuss it later tonight with the others. But I have a better idea.” I kissed her, she reciprocated and pulled me closer.
As I slowly backed off, I looked into her eyes, “Now, I am going to do something stupid, and if you'd like, you can slap me, but do you have a backroom?”
Lorraine gently kissed me on my neck, “That is not stupid at all, she took my hand and led me to the backroom.”
It is just a small room, but I had a smile from ear to ear, “I am terrible at dirty talk, so, just shut up Lorraine.”
