I woke up with Lory on top of me, naked. She had reverted to her semi human form. The sun slowly started to shine down on us. Lory yawned and looked at me, “Good morning, did you sleep well in the middle of a field with flowers?”
“Yeah, I slept well, how about you?”
“I slept well, I had a soft pillow.”
I smiled at her, “I am glad for my trauma’s.”
“What do you mean, Steve?”
“Well, if it were not for my past traumas that led me to you, then I would have never fallen in love with you.”
Lory smiled, “I guess in that aspect, I have to join you. If it were not for my past trauma’s I would not have ended up in that clothing store.” Lory got up, and she spawned her clothes to get dressed.
“I think we need to go back to the others, before they get worried.”
Lory nodded, “That seems like a good plan. It is strange, all the flowers are now closed.”
I looked around, “And back on the ground.”
We made our way back to the camp, where Abby sat eating a sandwich. She looked at us, “Where did you guys come from?”
I scratched my nose, “Did you not even notice we had been gone all night?”
Abby looked around, “To be honest, no, I was tired as fuck.”
Lory giggled, “Well, maybe Funk noticed.” At hearing his name, he crawled out of his tent. It remains uncanny how good he can hear things.
Funk yawned and looked at us, “I noticed. I expected you guys to come back, did you enjoy your trip?”
I nodded, “We found this wonderful field with flying flowers-”
Funk held up his hand, “I would rather not hear where this is going.”
Abby laughed and spit out a piece of her sandwich. Square ran after it.
I shook my head, “Never mind then. Who is ready to cross the blood path?”
Funk raised his hand, “I am interested in the blood path.”
Abby sighed, “You just want to mow down some mobs, since Steve is not going to let you kill people.”
Abby almost choked on her sandwich, I helped her spit out another piece of her sandwich, of course, Square ran after the sandwich as well.
She coughed a few times, “Thanks for that. I just never expected to say something like that.”
Lory sighed, “Shall we clean up our camp?”
Funk held up his hand, “Just give me a moment to drink a cup of coffee.”
He pulled one out of his inventory. While Funk slowly finished his coffee, we started cleaning up our camp.
After our camp had been packed up, we started walking towards the blood path. Torches that were magically lit hung on the wall. There were crevices. However, I did not see movement in them. Funk and Abby walked in front, like they usually do. I looked at Lory, “And this transformation, is it something that you can do whenever you want?”
Lory nodded, “Yes, now that I have activated it. It is like a new power. There are not many wolf people with this power, to find love and balance, it is not easy. Did you find out more about your species yet?”
I shook my head, “I decided to drop it. I am fine with not being able to use my energy. Who cares what I am? We will somehow manage to drive back the void, and then we can just live together.”
Lory smiled, “That is good to hear.”
Funk suddenly froze, we heard clicking, as if someone walked around with sharp long nails. “Hey Funk?”
“Yes?”
“I think, those are dinosaurs.”
Abby grunted, “Fuck, dinosaurs.”
Out of the crevices came Utah-raptors. Not one, but multiple, at least four of them, and they stood taller than us. They had red feathers and very sharp nails. Lory looked at me, in a second she had undressed herself and transformed into a wolf, standing almost as tall as the Utah-raptor. I knew what Lory wanted, I drew my sword and jumped on her back. “Funk, we have three in the back.”
Funk and Abby got ready, “Four over here.”
“Can you hold your ground, Funk?”
“Yes, we can, right, Abby?”
“I think so, at least these won’t try to eat me in one snap.”

Funk sighed, “Are you guys going to be fine?”
“Yes, we will be fine, right, Lory?” She barked, it spooked one of the Utah-raptors.
Instead of running away, it jumped at us with razor sharp claws. Lory swayed aside, and I swung my sword at the Utah-raptor, it bashed against his arm, cutting off some feathers. The dinosaur landed with a loud thus on the ground. Lory grabbed it by his throat by putting her giant paw on its neck and stared applying pressure as it struggled. The following Utah-raptor jumped at us, while Lory still struggled to get control over the first Utah-raptor.
I leaned forward and blocked the incoming strike from the claws. I felt blood splash over me and I glanced at Lory ripping out a massive chunk of Utah-raptor one’s neck. Then Utah-raptor two attacked me again, it jumped on Lory’s head, and it tried to slash its claws into me. With my sword, I blocked the claws, but then Utah-raptor three decided to join the fray. There is barely any way to keep them apart, that is why I decided to number them.
Lory used her giant paw to swipe at Utah-raptor one, it got hit full on, and I heard a teeth fall down on the floor. I got hit by Utah-raptor two, who scratched his sharp nails on my left arm. It hurt like hell and blood dripped on Lory’s fur. I continued trading blows with Utah-raptor two and three, when Lory suddenly shouted, “Hold on tight.”
She jumped up towards the wall and wall-kicked, shaking off the Utah-raptors. She ran away and the three Utah-raptors chased after us. Lory slid to a stop and turned around, she started running full speed towards Utah-raptor one, he had blood gushing out of his neck. Lory managed to go twice as fast as Utah-raptor one. As we came closer, I extended my sword, and we heard a gross squelching sound as blood splattered everywhere, even to the ceiling of this path. Then a thud as its head reached the floor.
Utah-raptor two, the one I had broken a nail from came our way, we tried to use the same technique. Lory ran at full force towards Utah-raptor two, and we saw the other one dodge aside. Utah-raptor two wiggled, and as we came closer he jumped, anticipating our attack. He had learned by seeing his friend get decapitated. He landed in front of me and raked my chest, while he did that, I stabbed my sword upwards, through his chest and twisted it.
It seems Utah-raptor three had joined us again, and Lory dodged claws while swiping her paws at Utah-raptor three. The second Utah-raptor just stared at me. It still tried to claw me, while I kept it away by pushing it further away with my sword. When it stopped twitching, I pushed it off me and threw it on the ground. I leaned forward and looked at Lory getting scraped on her face. Unbeknownst to Utah-raptor three, I leaned forward and stabbed my sword through his brain.
Lory ran over to Funk and Abby, we saw Abby pinned on the ground, she had a dark blade to stop the claw from reaching her neck. Funk sat on top of one Utah-raptor while slashing the other one. Lory rammed the Utah-raptor that tried to kill Abby. We launched over the floor, I held on tight and Lory soon jumped up. She put her paw on top of its neck. And she applied enough force to actually snap the Utah-raptor’s neck. Abby shot an energy blast at one of the Utah-raptor’s that Funk is fighting, blasting a giant hole where its heart should be.
Funk stabbed his two blades into the Utah-raptor he sat on. One in its brain, and the other one in its heart. Lory walked over to Abby and I lowered my hand, Abby grabbed my hand and I pulled her up. She bent forward, “yes, I hate dinosaurs.”
Funk seemed to have some injuries, but he is fine. Abby had quite some scratch wounds, she also got raked on her back. “Lory, are you okay?”
“Yes, my dear, I am fine. We fought well together.”
“Yes, I agree, Funk and Abby also did an outstanding job.”
Funk sighed, “Will the cosmos ever stop throwing dinosaurs at us?”
I chuckled, “Probably not. These were not as big as the last dinosaurs.”
Abby sighed, “They were still big. We should move on after looting them.”
“Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that, Lory does that for me.”
She sighed, “What would you do without me?”
I chuckled, “kill numerous people?”
“True, you have a point.” Lory started looting the corpses, and then we decided to move on. We got some gold and more dinosaur steak. Now, we could go on through the blood path.
