The next morning, I woke up with Lorraine in my arms, I yawned and stretched. Then I left my tent, Alice seemed to be sitting near the campfire already. She had lit the fire. I sat down and looked at her, “What is up with Square on your head?”
She sighed, “Don’t even ask, I woke up with this thing on my head.”
I laughed, “Are you ready for the battle ahead? I am unsure of the outcome.”
Alice nodded, “I am ready.”
Funk joined us before long, he looked at Square, “I am not even going to ask.”
Abby joined us, she had a grin from ear to ear, I looked at her, “You are not doing much to hide your good mood.”
She smiled at me, “Oh, I am in a good mood alright.”
Funk looked at her, “I wonder why.”
Paul joined us and grabbed a sandwich, “I am ready for whatever comes next.”
Lorraine came out of the tent, and she sat down on my lap after giving me a kiss. She leaned on me and I gave her a sandwich, I looked at everyone, “Do all of you know the plan?”
They all nodded, we drank some water before equipping our gear, we decided to leave the camp standing, as we will most likely come back after our fight. I walked over to the crystal while waiting for the others, Lorraine walked over, “I hope he fails to power up again.”
“Yeah, I think we won’t be that lucky again. However, we have Alice on our side.”
Lorraine looked at her gearing up, “I don’t know how strong she is.”
I shook my head, “I think, she is hiding a lot of power, when I stopped her from touching me last night, I felt pure rage boiling inside of her. She probably has a lot of energy stored in there. As long as she puts up her A-game, we will be fine.”
It did not take long before everyone stood near the crystal, I put my hand on the crystal and the others did as well, after a bright flash we stood in the city again. Robot Steve stood there with his sword drawn, Paul looked at me, “You were not kidding when you said he looks like you.”
I chuckled, “Yeah, he is a faker.” I looked at Alice, “This plan hinges on you. All of us are putting our faith in you.”
She nodded and spawned a red blade, “I am game.”
Robot Steve walked over, “I see you brought some backup.”
Lorraine and Funk ran to the left side, Robot Steve chuckled, “Are you going to try the same plan again?”
I smiled, “Do you really think, I am that stupid?”
Paul and Abby ran to the right side, Alice looked at me, “Here we stand, side by side.” I nodded and let silver energy flare up, it was still very dim as I needed to fight a lot more to get stronger. But the simple basics of energy are getting clearer to me with each fight.
Alice started charging up her red blade, “This attack is going to take some time to charge, just keep him busy while I do this.”
I ran forward to Robot Steve and swung my sword down, he blocked it with ease, only using his robot arm to wield his special sword. Behind me, I heard Alice humming and singing, “I am charging my attack.”
While stopping a blow from Robot Steve, I sighed, “Is that necessary, Alice?” She did not reply but just went on with singing, I think that is a yes.
Robot Steve laughed, “You can never hold your ground against me alone!” He created a purple wave and threw me against the wall.
Robot Steve suddenly grunted in pain, and giant black wings sprouted from his back. I slowly got up, “I did not expect that.”
He started to fly up when a throwing dagger flew his way. Robot Steve dodged aside as he looked at Paul. Then another arrow soared through the air and hit Robot Steve’s right wing, and blood splattered everywhere, along with some oil.
Robot Steve kept flying up, having problems with his right wing. Then I looked at one of the skyscrapers, I saw Lorraine ran on four legs, and she jumped while spawning two weapons. Robot Steve turned to look at her and Lorraine landed on him, she started stabbing him. He tried shaking her off.
Alice is still singing the same phrase, again and again, Paul looked at me, he suddenly made platforms appear from dark energy. I looked at him, I did not know he could use magic like that. He smiled at me, “Go help her.”
I jumped up the platforms with majestic leaps, I needed my energy to jump from platform to platform. As I got high enough, I jumped up to grab Robot Steve’s right wing. Lorraine looked at me as she swayed aside from his sword. I shot an energy beam at his robot arm and he dropped his sword.
Robot Steve tried to spawn a purple void blade, but an arrow hit his a robot arm. Lorraine jumped over to me, and we heard ripping sounds and blood started coming out of Robot Steve’s back. Along with oil. We started crashing down rapidly, with a loud thud, we crashed on the ground.

Lorraine had rolled aside. Robot Steve got up while blood dripped to the floor, he walked over to me. I grunted and coughed up blood, crashing down to the ground hurt a lot. Robot Steve kicked me down, and he started punching me with his metal fist. It hurt, a lot. He got hit by arrows and daggers, but he did not stop hitting me and if I did not do something, he was going to bash my head in. I infused my legs with silver energy and kicked Robot Steve away, it actually worked and he rolled away. I called out, “Funk, now!”
I saw Funk jump from a skyscraper with an insane amount of dark energy he had been gathering. He jumped down with his two blades pointed downwards. Abby and Paul shot a net of energy to keep Robot Steve in place. Lorraine slowly got up, her face had many scratches and bruises.
We both looked at Robot Steve slowly ripping himself loose from the nets. Funk landed with a massive impact on Robot Steve, and the whole ground shook. Smoke flew everywhere, I ran over to Lorraine to cover her from rocks. When I looked at Robot Steve, he slowly got up. Funk wobbled and he leaned against a building.
He used a lot of power, he is completely drained. I looked at Lorraine, “Now!” We ran over to Robot Steve and both grabbed an arm. “Alice, we have him in a full nelson, kill him!”
She stopped singing and ran our way, her entire being leaked with red energy. She primed her sword to stab it in his heart. Alice stabbed it down, and a field of purple energy appeared right before Robot Steve’s heart. He grunted in pain. He looked at Alice, “No, it can’t be, how are you here?”
Alice screamed, “Fuck you!” Robot Steve’s right arm suddenly turned demonic. He slammed me and Lorraine away. He grabbed Alice’s sword and energy started to shake the air.
They both screamed and Lorraine looked at me, “His arm, Steve. Look at his arm.”
“Yes, I see it, it has completely turned into a huge demon arm, a purple one.”
Alice got launched away, very far away. I looked at Lorraine, “We should help her.” Alice flew through buildings. While I started running towards Alice, I saw Robot Steve make a portal and basically crawl through. We are unable to finish him off now, but when we meet him again, we will be ready for his arm trick. I called out, “Abby!”
When I came closer to Alice, I saw her roll off the edge of this flat earth, I dived, sliding my body over sharp rocks. I grabbed her hand, she seemed to be knocked out, while trying to pull her up, I slid off the edge as well.
Lorraine grabbed me by my legs. “Come on, Steve, try to come up.”
“Yes, I am trying, but I am using two hands to hold her, and my energy is drained.”
Lorraine grunted, “Abby is here. We are slipping. Maybe you need to let Alice go.”
“I am not letting anyone die, not even Alice, we asked her for help. It would be wrong to let her die.” In fact, if that had been anyone else, I would have thrown her off myself. But even if I am with Lorraine, letting a woman die whom I find interesting would leave me with a bad taste in my mouth.
The voice in my head spoke up, “I knew you could not let her die, she is-”
I had no time to speak to the thing in my head, I needed to focus on getting Alice back on land.
Lorraine slipped and Abby grabbed her, “The others are not here yet. I cannot hold on for much longer.”
I grunted as I looked at the abyss, “Lorraine?”
“Yes?”
“Can you send me some of your energy?”
“Sure, but what for?”
“I might be able to make a portal below us.”
Alice slowly woke up, “Wow, what is going on?”
I looked at her, “you are about to die, and I am trying to save your ass, well, we.”
Alice looked down. “Oh crap, that is not good, can you make a portal, Steve? I am drained.”
“The last time it took me eight hours, do you have enough time for that?” Abby slipped, and we slid further down towards the abyss.
Lorraine called out, “Abby, send all your energy to Alice, you too Steve. She needs enough for a portal!”
We all sent our energy towards Alice, she sighed, “Here goes nothing.” She stretched her hand down, “I just need a little more.” Suddenly, Square jumped towards Alice, she caught him. Then Square gave her some of his energy. Alice smiled and made a portal, “Abby, you need to let go.”
“But, I am going to fall in.”
“That is alright Abby, you can trust me, just like last night, this portal will save you, I promise you.”
I sighed, “Did a frigging dodo just save our lives?”
Abby let go and fell in while screaming, “Fuck yeah Square, you did an outstanding job, good boy!”
We all disappeared into the portal, I cannot believe we had been saved by a dodo.
