Bart walked out of one of the buildings with a scowl on his face. When Elijah saw Bart’s expression, he wanted to shake his head at how ridiculous he looked, but he quickly stopped himself. It wouldn’t be good if he displayed his annoyance before Kento and the other clan members.
“What are you upset about?” Elijah thought to himself. “I gave you a place to stay and food to eat and all I got in return was a knife in the back. Do you see a frown on my face? No!”
Normally, Elijah would say a greeting but this time he kept his mouth shut. He calmly examined Bart with his Supreme Eyes while Bart glared at him. Bart’s eyes emitted a great deal of anger, but Elijah wasn’t bothered by it.
Most of Elijah’s focus was on using his talent. His talent worked through his eyes and his eyes have become stronger after repeated tempering during his cultivation sessions. Since Bart was only in the first stage of the Qi Condensation realm, Elijah was confident he would be able to see Bart’s status information.
Astral Human Level 51
Unfortunately, Elijah was wrong. Everything about Bart was still hidden by a thick fog of astral energy that Elijah’s eyes were not able to penetrate. At least, that’s how things were at first.
Over the next few seconds, Elijah continued to examine Bart and Bart continued to glare at him with increasing hostility. The longer Elijah looked, the more information he was able to gather about Bart. He wasn’t able to see Bart’s status page, but he was able to pick up on some minor details.
For example, Elijah was able to see that Bart’s highest stat was his strength and his second highest stat was his endurance. However, Elijah wasn’t able to see the numerical value for either stat. He obtained a little bit of information about Bart’s Job as well.
Naturally, Elijah wasn’t able to learn about the specific Job Bart had. However, Elijah was able to see that the Job Bart was currently using was combat related. Outwardly, there were no changes in Elijah’s expression, but on the inside, he was extremely happy with the tiny pieces of information he collected. Elijah was sure that as long as he kept staring at Bart, he would be able to-
“Cough, cough. As you requested, I had my son brought forward to speak with you.” Kento said.
“Tsk,” Elijah clicked, his teeth in annoyance before he continued speaking. “Yeah, I can see that.”
Elijah only let his annoyance show for an instant before he quickly returned to his calm expression. He was annoyed that Kento interrupted what he thought was a chance to improve his Supreme Eyes talent. He didn’t receive any information on how to improve his talents from his future self, so he would have to figure out everything on his own through trial and error.
Putting on a stern expression Elijah made eye contact with Bart’s angry eyes and asked, “Why are you trying to start a rebellion in my village?” All of the clan members tensed up after they heard Elijah’s question.
Before he spoke Elijah thought about questioning Bart in a more delicate manner, but in the end, he decided to say fuck it. Someone came into his house and was trying to mess everything up. He had every right to demand an explanation.
“My son wasn’t-”
“I asked Bart not you,” Elijah interrupted Kento.
Kento frowned in displeasure, but Elijah didn’t care. He didn’t want to be placated by Kento; he wanted an honest answer from Bart. He had a brief stare down with Kento before he returned his gaze to Bart.
“Well?” Elijah asked.
Bart hesitated for a moment before he blurted out his honest thoughts. “You’re not strong! All leaders should be powerful warriors that are the strongest in their group.”
“Not this bull shit again,” Elijah thought to himself.
With a frown on his face Elijah listened to Bart spout his nonsense about how only the strong should rule. The person with the biggest fist is the one that gets to make the rules, and blah, blah, blah. Elijah activated his Supreme Speech skill before he cut him off.

“Stop talking,” Elijah commanded. After Bart shut up, Elijah directed his next question to the entire group. “Who here thinks that I’ve been acting like a terrible leader so far?”
For a few seconds, everyone was silent before Cole spoke up. “So far you have treated us very fairly.”
Elijah gave the man a nod of thanks before he asked his second question. “Other than my low cultivation level, do any of you have any other problems with me as a leader?” Once again, there was a brief period of silence. “Bart, other than my cultivation level can you name a single problem you have with me as a leader?”
“What other problem do I need.” Bart angrily replied. “A weak leader can’t defend his people. Since, you’re weak then you don’t have the right to lead.”
“Alright.” Elijah calmly said. “Since you can’t accept my leadership then please leave my village.”
“Fuck you! You can’t make me leave.”
“Maybe you’re right, but I know more than a few people that I can call to help me remove you from the village.”
“If I kill you right here then you won’t be able to call anyone!” Bart released his presence and stirred up the air as he angrily roared at Elijah.
“Enough!” Kento barked at his son. He stepped forward and released his presence to stop Bart from taking action. “When will you grow up and learn to show some restraint?”
“But he-”
“I don’t want to hear it. Stand to the side and keep quiet.” The father and son glared at each other for several seconds before Bart walked away with his head hung. Kento closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Then he opened his eyes and spoke to Elijah.
“First, let me apologize for the rude words my son recently uttered in the heat of the moment,” Kento gave Elijah a bow before he continued to speak. “I hope that you will let him stay in the village. Everyone in our clan have a deep connection with each other. None of us could accept it if one of us was banished and forced to fend for them self in the forest.”
As Elijah listened to Kento speak he could feel Kento using his presence to exert some pressure on to him. Adding another layer of pressure, all the clan members started to step closer to each other as a show of solidarity. After all, if Elijah could kick one of them out, then he could kick out the others as well.
Elijah wasn’t fazed by the pressure they were trying to exert onto him. In fact, he thought it was a joke. Who was he? Elijah was the Supreme Ruler.
Releasing his Supreme Will, Elijah easily broke the invisible pressure that was restricting him. Kento and the other clan members shuddered when they felt Elijah’s will sweep through the area. An arrogant smile spread across Elijah’s face when he saw their reaction.
“Tell me, why should I allow someone who repeatedly challenges my authority to stay in my village. Someone who has zero respect for me and plotted to attack me and my people.”
Kento replied to Elijah, but his voice had loss some of its strength. “I know that my son has caused some trouble, but there has to be a way to resolve this besides banishment. Maybe we can-”
“You know, this isn’t a decision that only benefits me. It benefits everyone in the village and that includes the members of your clan.” Elijah paused for a brief moment to look at the clan members surprised faces, before he continued speaking. “None of you listened to Bart when he suggested to rebel, but what about your children.”
Elijah turned to look at the children peaking their heads outside of the buildings and the clan members followed his gaze. The children quickly pulled their heads back inside when they saw they attracted the attention of the adults.
“If Bart were to insight your children to rebel or get into conflict with the other children in the village it could lead to a few children being crippled or killed.”
“Don’t make shit up. I would never rely on children to fight my battles for me.”
“Maybe under normal circumstances. However, nobody can predict who a mad dog will bite.”
“You!” Bart glared at Elijah with fire in his eyes. It looked like he wanted to take a bite out of Elijah’s flesh.
Elijah ignored the hostility that Bart was emitting. Instead, he focused his attention on the other clan members. Some of them looked at Bart and unconsciously took a step away from the group. Others knowingly took a step away from the group while giving looks of disapproval to both Bart and Kento.
“Either my ‘Talk no Jutsu’ has reached the next tier or Kento’s clan isn’t as united as I originally believed,” Elijah thought to himself.
Sadly, after a quick check, Elijah didn’t see a notification indicating that his Supreme Speech skill reached the next tier. Elijah saw that Kento noticed the changes in his clan members as well. As he looked at his people, Kento’s face was a mix of annoyance, frustration, disappointment and helplessness. After a few seconds passed, Kento sighed in defeat and asked Elijah for mercy.
“Although my son has harbored some negative thoughts, he hasn’t acted on them yet. Please show mercy and let him off this once. I promise that I will correct his behavior and make sure he doesn’t harm anyone.”
“Father there’s no need to-”
“Shut your mouth!” Kento roared. Cowed by his father’s fury, Bart hung his head and didn’t say anything else. Kento glared at his son for a few seconds before he turned his focus back to Elijah. “Please show mercy. I will pay whatever price you ask of me without complaint.”
“Hehe, you fool, you activated my trap card,” Elijah thought to himself. There were no changes to Elijah’s expression, but a victorious gleam could be seen in his eye.
