“That was awesome,” Tyler said. “Definitely worth the wait.”
Tyler was a young man with fair skin and short brown hair. He wore the same clothing as the warriors and wielded similar weaponry. With a smile on his face. Tyler stood on the battlefield surrounded by the corpses of goblins.
Elijah had a smile on his face as well. He smiled because nobody died or suffered any injuries that couldn’t be healed by his Heal Minor Wounds skill. Also, Elijah smiled because he leveled up and received two new quests.

“So, are we done here?” A player named Atom asked. “We’ve been playing for a while, and I want to log out.”
“Yeah, I was planning to log out after we entered the cave,” Tyler agreed.
“Justin let’s take a look inside the cave,” Elijah said. “Bring a few warriors with us and leave the rest to take care of the goblin corpses.”
Elijah and ten other people entered the cave with their weapons ready. Initially the cave was wide enough to allow five people to walk side by side. However, the cave eventually became wide enough to allow ten people to walk side by side the deeper the group went.
Justin already told everyone what they should expect from the cave based on his own experience. They would walk toward the back of the cave and turn right to enter the cavern the goblins settled in. After a few second of jogging, Elijah was able to make out some light at the end of the cave.
Of course, Justin and the others already noticed the light due to their hunter jobs. The light became brighter as they jogged and after a few seconds the group turned right. Tents and campfires were spread throughout the cavern. Inside the cavern there were three goblins tending to the campfires and the food the goblins were planning to eat.
At first, the three goblins didn’t notice the groups presence when they entered the cavern. However, they looked in the groups direction once they started moving toward them. The three goblins froze out of fear once they realized it was humans that were approaching them and not goblins. It didn’t take long for the goblins’ fear to activate their fight or flight response, and the goblins attempted to run away. They failed.
“Don’t kill them,” Tyler said.
Justin and the other warriors quickly caught the goblins. Elijah was confident in the warriors’ speed and ability, so he relaxed as he watched them quickly hunt down the goblins. Justin was the first warrior to catch up to a goblin. He kicked it to the ground and prepared to finish it off, but he halted his actions when he heard Tyler speak.
“Why do you want to spare it?” Justin asked with a confused expression on his face.
“We should question them. We might be able to find out where the other goblins are.”
Justin shook his head in response. “You’re wasting your time. Most goblins are mindless evil creatures. Yes, there are some with intelligence, but I’m confident that we already killed them all.”
“I still think we should give it a try.”
Elijah shrugged his shoulders when he saw Justin’s questioning look. “It doesn’t hurt to try.”
With a shake of his head Justin dragged the goblin he captured over to Elijah and the other players. He gestured toward the other warriors, and they did the same. Justin left two warriors to watch over the goblins and left to check on the warriors outside after he did a final sweep of the cavern.
“Good cop, bad cop?” A player named Boss Bitch suggested. She was a tanned woman with long dark hair. She was the shortest person in the group, but her height didn’t inhibit her ability to fight.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
“I think we should do bad cop, bad cop.” Atom replied. He was a tall brown skinned man with short dark hair. He put on a furious expression and began shouting at the captured goblins. “Where are the other goblins? Tel us now!”
“Tell us or we’ll cut your fucking balls off!” Tyler added.
Elijah smiled and decided to join in on the interrogation. “Do you think were joking? We’ll beat the shit out of you, force you to eat it and then beat it out of you again!”
When Boss Bitch saw what they were doing, she rolled her eyes before joining in with them. For the next few minutes, Elijah and the five players surrounded the goblins and screamed at them like drill sergeants. The warriors Justin left behind were dumbfounded as they watched the players ‘interrogation’. The warriors thought the player’s actions were ridiculous, but they decided not to say anything. After all, they couldn’t expect people from other worlds to behave like them.
Once the players had their fun, they began properly questioning the goblins. They learned that their shouting intimidated the goblin to the point where they would immediately follow basic commands. When the goblins were told to come, sit, stand, or roll over, they would immediately follow the command with a terrified expression on their faces. Also, they learned that the goblins didn’t understand anything but basic commands.
“Well, looks like Justin was right,” Elijah said.
“That was a waste of time,” Atom added. “I’m going to log out now. See you all in a few hours.” Atom closed his eyes and his body fell to the ground on his back.
“Idiot,” Boss Bitch complained.
“Nah, he’s just lazy,” Tyler said.
“You guys can log out here,” Elijah said. “I’ll make sure the village warriors leave this spot clear for you.”
“You’re going to keep playing?”
“Yup, I’m the chief so I should make sure my people settle down before I log out.”
“You know, you’re really lucky that you got the chief job,” Boss Bitch said.
“Yeah, I’m lucky, but it’s not all sunshine and roses. My job is still at level two while all of you have passed level eight in the hunter job.”
Elijah spoke with Boss Bitch and the other players for a little longer before they left. All of the players laid on the ground near each other. Once they were out of the game, their bodies couldn’t be moved or affected in anyway. After they left, Elijah chatted with the warriors in the cave while he waited for Justin and the other warriors.
“Sorry it took so long,” Justin told Elijah when he returned. “A pack of wolves came to investigate the battlefield and we were forced to fight them. But nobody was hurt, and we now have fresh meat to eat.”
“Do we have to worry about any beast finding this cave?” Elijah asked.
“We should be safe, but we always have a few of us stand guard.”
“Good. Now, let’s discuss our plan for tomorrow while we wait for the food to be prepared. We should try to come up with a way to locate goblins other than randomly searching for tracks.”
After Elijah’s talk with Justin, he ate some food and chatted with the soldier. Before he left the game, Elijah completed two cultivation sessions which brought him close to leveling up. He would have spent more time cultivating, but he used up a lot of his mental energy when he healed the village warriors.
Most of the warriors told Elijah they didn’t need healing. Their wounds weren’t bleeding, and they weren’t experiencing any other damage over time, so they would be able to completely recover by morning. However, Elijah ignored the warriors’ refusals and insisted on healing them anyway.
Elijah didn’t know how wounds felt for the characters in the game, but he and the other players felt pain from their injuries they received until they fully recovered. Although the pain they felt in the game wasn’t debilitating, it still bothered them when they tried to think or perform a task. Elijah wasn’t able to completely heal the village warriors, but he was able to shorten the time they needed to fully recover. Plus, Elijah needed to gain experience using his healing skill if he wanted to improve it.
Once Elijah left the game, he noticed his body felt week. It wasn’t as significant as the first time, but Elijah still had to spend some time adjusting himself. After all he didn’t want to fall on his face again.
After Elijah finished adjusting himself, he went to refuel. Elijah quickly warmed up and ate the meal he prepared for himself in advance. Next, he showered and completed some of his real-life tasks before heading back into the game.
“You’re awake. I hope you slept well chief.” Tevin said.
Elijah opened his eyes and saw Tevin standing guard over him. “Thanks for protecting me Tevin.”
A goofy grin spread across Tevin’s dark face as he ran his hand through his short hair. “There’s no need to thank me. Justin wanted to speak with you, so he told me wait here for you to wake up.”
Nodding his head Elijah stood up and began walking in the direction Tevin told him Justin was at. It was still nighttime and some of the warriors were still resting. Those that weren’t resting were doing some light training.
“You’re awake,” Justin said.
“Yeah. What did you want to talk to me about?
“How many goblins are left for us to kill?”
“As of now, two hundred and one.” Elijah paused for a few seconds before questioning Justin. “Was that the only thing you wanted to ask me?”
“Yeah, that was it.” Elijah scoffed before Justin asked him another question. “Oh yeah, I also wanted to ask your opinion about these five herbs I found.”
Item: Seven Petal Flower
Tier: 0
Description: Raises a person’s cultivation by one level in the body tempering realm.
When Elijah saw the purple petal flower, he immediately looked at its information. Reading the information of the herb made Elijah think about the memories given to him by his futures self. Elijah became lost in his own thoughts, and he didn’t return until he heard Justin’s voice.
“We found these herbs after we did another search of the goblin’s belongings. I was planning to share it with the others, but I wanted to talk with you about it first.” Justin spoke to Elijah with a neutral expression on his face. “Of course, if you want to use them for your own cultivation everyone will understand.”
“No, I don't need any. You can decide who should get them,” Elijah responded with a wave of his hand. “However, I’m only letting you make the decision this time. In the future you will have to bring back herbs like these to the village, so other villagers can get the opportunity to use them.”
Justin was surprised by Elijah response and his face showed it. However, his surprised quickly vanished as he broke into a grin. Justin kept one of the herbs for himself and had Tevin give over the other herbs to specific people. Justin shot Elijah a look to see if he had an opinion about how the herbs were divided, but Elijah didn’t show any sign of disapproval.
“Now that were done with the herbs, I wanted to ask you about the goblins.” Justin said. “Should we kill them, or do you want to continue questioning them?
Justin gestured to the nearby goblins with a smirk on his face. Most likely because he heard about Elijah’s and the other players’ ridiculous and unsuccessful interrogation attempt. Elijah barely thought about the question before he gave the order to kill.
The warriors around the goblins immediately moved to strike once the order was given. Two goblins were caught off guard and immediately pierced with swords, but one goblin managed to dodge out of the way. Instead of continuing to run away, it charged at Elijah with its hand tied behind its back.
Elijah was caught off guard, but Justin wasn’t. He kicked the goblin away before it was able to get too close to Elijah. Realizing the goblin tried to kill him, Elijah reached for his sword to personally kill it. Unfortunately, he didn’t bring his weapon with him when he got up to speak with Justin. It didn’t matter though. Elijah was confident he would be able to beat the goblin to death relying only on his fist and his…
