Saying yes to slavery seemed like the obvious decision to make in game. He would gain more warriors to help him kill the remaining goblins and the effects of Goblin Frenzy will be reduced due to their groups increase in numbers. Plus, Elijah would probably receive experience toward his ruler specialty. After all, when he accepted Goblin One’s submission Elijah received experience toward his specialty.
Despite their being several benefits to slavery, Elijah still hesitated to say yes. The problem was, Elijah had already set his mind to treat Fallen Heaven like real life and in real life, slavery was heavily frowned upon. This applied to both the present and the past.
Currently, there wouldn’t be a problem with Elijah making the goblins his slaves. In fact, it was very likely that all of the villagers would praise him for his actions instead of rebuking him. However, that was only what would happen in the present and as a ruler Elijah had to think about the future.
Elijah learned about how the actions of previous generations could be viewed negatively by future generations and the heroes of the past became villains of the present. So, he was pretty damn sure that his future followers might call him a monster for having owned slaves. Especially if those future followers were goblins or people from another race.
Looking inward, Elijah did his best to search for an answer. He listened to his heart and searched through the memories given to him by his future self. Eventually, he found the answer he sought. His goal, as a ruler, was to help people grow and nothing else. That’s what he would promise all that chose to follow him.
By following him Elijah would do his best to provide them with the best environment for growth. In the future, he would grant his followers cultivation techniques, cultivation resources information and anything else they needed for growth. These things would be granted to everyone including the goblins he enslaved.
Yes, his action was morally questionable, but he never promised that he would be a saint. He certainly wouldn’t promise his follower something ridiculous like freedom or other abstract ideas that would be difficult to properly achieve. Of course, if his followers didn’t agree with him then those that weren’t slaves could find another ruler to follow.
With strengthened convictions Elijah opened his eyes ready to turn the goblins into slaves. After he opened his eyes, Elijah saw that everyone was looking at him and Justin didn’t hesitate to question him. Elijah gave everyone a summary of the conversation he had with Goblin One and explained that he was going over the information Goblin One gave him.
“Woah, this game is crazy,” Tyler announced. “I can’t believe it actually let you turn people into slaves.”
“Oh, this is sweet,” Boss Bitch declared. “I can already picture it. A group of chiseled hunks fighting for me during the day and serving me in bed at night.”
“Gross, you weirdo.” Tyler physically recoiled as he responded to BB. “How could you say something like that?”
“What, don’t act like you’re not thinking about doing the same thing with beautiful women?”
“Of course, I am, but only a weirdo like you would say something like that out loud.”
Boss Bitch and the other players began to bicker with each other, but Elijah temporarily ignored them to speak with Justin. “What do you think about making the goblins our slaves? Also, do you have any more information about making people slaves?”
“It’s a good idea,” Justin replied. “My grandfather said that the clan they belonged to before had several slaves that would be turned to death soldiers. They were allowed to cultivate, but they were expected to throw away their lives for the people they were assigned to protect. I think there is a limit to the number of slaves a person can have, but I’m not sure.”
Elijah nodded his head in agreement as Justin spoke. Everything he said sounded familiar to him. Once Justin was finished speaking, Elijah asked him if he knew anything else.
“That’s about everything I know,” Justin replied.
“Alright, then I guess it’s time to make these goblins our slaves.” Elijah said. “I’m pretty sure they will refuse, and we’ll all end up fighting a battle of wills. I’ll challenge them first and give you all a breakdown of what to expect after I’ve won.”
“Chief, I think it would be best if you let someone else go first,” Justin suggested.
“It’s fine. I already checked and I have the highest will power stat out of everyone hear. I’ve checked the goblins will power stats as well. None of us have to worry about their will power being greater than ours.”
After putting Justin and the others worries to rest, Elijah walked up to the level thirty-one goblin. Initially, he planned to start with Goblin One, but he changed his mind after he spoke with Justin. Since there was a limit to the number of slaves he could have, Elijah would rather have stronger slaves instead of weaker slaves.
“I want you to be my slave? Do you agree?” Elijah asked.
“I agree,” the goblin replied.

Elijah was caught off guard and didn’t know what to say next. He expected a harsh refusal, as any sane person would, but instead he received an easy agreement. Before Elijah could make heads or tails of the situation, he received a notification.
Gers has agreed to be your slave. Please set the conditions under which he will be your slaves. What is your slave required to do? How long will they be your slave?
The notification was straightforward, and the two questions were easy to answer. First, the slave, Gers, would be required to do whatever he said and never perform any actions that would be harmful to him. Second, the duration would be until Elijah gave Gers his freedom.
Gers has rejected your conditions. Do you wish to change the requirements and duration of enslavement, give up on making him your slave or enter a battle of wills over the conditions of his enslavement?
Now it made sense. Sort of. Elijah guessed that Gers was planning something related to the battle of wills over the conditions of his slavery. However, Elijah didn’t know what differences there were between fighting for his freedom versus fighting him for the conditions of his enslavement.
Since Elijah couldn’t figure out the answer on his own the natural thing to do was to ask for help. Elijah was unsuccessful. He failed to speak, turn his head or move his body. He couldn’t even move his eyes. Realizing there was nothing else he could do before he made a decision, Elijah agreed to enter the battle of wills.
The moment Elijah agreed his vision went dark. When his sight returned, he found himself in an empty area with a gray and white mist all around him. In front of Elijah was a small green sphere of light.
You have challenged Gers to a battle of wills. Your willpower stat will function as your health for the duration of the battle. The first person to bring their opponents health to zero will be the victor.
Should you lose the battle, you will have to change the requirements and duration of the enslavement. Gers will be allowed to pose three restrictions on what he is required to do during his enslavement. If you fail to enslave Gers after three battles, Gers will be allowed to create conditions that he considers appropriate for his enslavement. If you refuse, he will be granted his freedom and you will suffer penalties.
Gers receives a 50% increase to willpower since you are fighting within his mind. Gers receives 50% increase to willpower since he has already agreed to be your slave and is only fighting to establish fair conditions.
After Elijah read the final notification, he saw the small green sphere of light in front of him expand. Elijah didn’t need genius level intellect to figure out that the green sphere of light was the will of Gers. Focusing his gaze Elijah tried to use his Supreme Eyes talent to gleam some information from the sphere.
Gers Lvl 31
Will HP: 30 (15)
Using his Supreme Eyes Elijah was able to view the health Gers had available for the will battle and he was able to see through the green sphere of light. He saw a version of Gers that was made out of green light. His translucent figure was chuckling while wearing a sinister expression. Elijah guessed that Gers expected to receive the increase to his willpower and was confident it would help him obtain victory. Sadly, Gers was wrong. Even if he obtained a two hundred percent increase to his willpower Elijah would still have more health.
Your chief job increases your willpower by 50%. Your Supreme Will talent has granted you a 50% increase to your willpower and decreases your opponent’s willpower by 50%. Your ruler specialty decreases your opponent’s willpower by 20%. Your opponent’s willpower is decreased by 10% because you are battling it while it is subdued.
Will HP: 108 (54)
Elijah grinned when he saw how his willpower was increased and Gers was decreased. Although he wasn’t worried about Gers’s increase in willpower, he still felt it was a bit unfair. However, his budding thoughts about unfairness were thrown out the window the moment his benefits came rolling in.
With his Supreme Eyes active Elijah was able to see the Gers’s happiness vanish when his benefits came. Elijah chuckled when he saw the goblin start to panic. Elijah was curious to know what exactly Gers was seeing, but he didn’t think about it too much. The battle was about to begin, and he could ask Gers all the questions he wanted too after he made Gers his slave.
The battle shall commence in 10 seconds. 9…8…7…
Gers Lvl 31
Will HP: 18 (15)
Once the countdown reached zero and the battle began, the sphere of light surrounding Gers vanished. Elijah wondered if he had a sphere of light of his own and looked down to check. He found that his body was now made of a blue light flaked with dots of gold. Elijah marveled at his translucent form for a few seconds before he turned his attention back to his opponent.
Gers did not make a move on Elijah. Instead, he was backing away with fear and panic on his face. Elijah felt like the battle was already over and with a smile on his face he moved to finish off his opponent.
Elijah started running toward the cowardly goblin. Gers had given up and turned to run away, but Elijah found that his speed was much greater than Gers’s. In fact, Elijah felt like he was faster than he would be in his physical body. He quickly arrived behind Gers and punched him on the back.
You have dealt 1 damage
Gers stumbled and fell on the…mist? Elijah wasn’t really sure what Gers fell on, but he did fall. Although Elijah had a ton of questions about what he was experiencing, he didn’t let those questions interfere with his ability to fight. Elijah was in the zone.
You have dealt 5 fatal damage.
You have dealt 5 fatal damage.
You have dealt 5 fatal damage.
Elijah continued his assault and stepped forward to stomp on Gers’s neck. Elijah lifted his foot up and saw Gers’s neck reform, so he stomped on it two more times. After the third stomp Gers finally escaped from Elijah and started to run away again.
This time Elijah didn’t immediately chase after him. Instead, he took a few minutes to analyze the space he was in and the nature of the battle. It seemed like all of his normal attacks dealt one point of damage regardless of what skills he used. When he attacked Gers, he had his Supreme Combat skill active, but it didn’t look like his skill had any effect.
Focusing his attention on Gers, Elijah saw that he was stopped by an invisible wall. Gers became hysterical as he did everything he could to continue escaping. Elijah shook his head as he watched Gers repeatedly ram his head against the invisible wall. Right as he was about to finish the goblin off Elijah saw his health appear above its head. immediately after his body burst into dots of light before reforming into a green sphere covered in blue chains.
