Elijah smiled as he watched his villagers leave the communal area in high spirits. Each of them received a copy of the three cultivation techniques. Elijah had them step forward one by one and he directly sent the information into their mind.
Holding the bottom of the gray sphere in his right hand, Elijah told the villagers to place their hand on the top. After three brief flashes of grey light, the information on the three cultivation techniques was transmitted to their minds. Elijah smiled as he saw each person walk away from him with a dazed but excited expression.
After everyone received a copy of the cultivation techniques, they all had a brief conversation about which technique they should use. The Twilight Foundation cultivation technique was the most favored out of the three techniques. However, there were still plenty of villagers that chose the other two techniques because they felt that they were more suitable.
Finding a suitable cultivation technique was more important than finding a powerful one. If a person wanted to be a saint, then they wouldn’t use a cultivation technique meant for murderers and sinners. Every cultivation technique left a permanent mark on an individual’s foundation that couldn’t be removed even if a person changed cultivation techniques in the future.
Of course, while many people were quick to declare what technique they would be using, there were still people who remain undecided. Choosing a cultivation technique was an important decision and there was no need to rush it. With nothing left to discuss, Elijah called for an end to the meeting. However, before everyone left, he reminded them to wait until twilight arrived to practice their cultivation techniques. That way, they would be able to receive the best effects.
Looking at his people leaving the communal area in high spirits, Elijah could feel his territory being filled with a sense of purpose and liveliness that it didn’t have before. Closing his eyes, Elijah allowed himself to indulge in the sensations he was receiving for a few moments before he returned his focus to the material world. Once he did, he turned his attention to Jenny.
“Jenny, please wait,” Elijah called out.
“What do you need, Chief?” Jenny asked when she saw Elijah approaching her.
“You’re going to tend to the wounded amongst the newcomers, right? I want to come with you to help out.”
“Really?” Jenny asked with a confused expression on her face.
“Yeah,” Elijah replied with a smile on his face. “My healing skill will only improve if I use it a lot, so it would be a shame if I don’t make use of this opportunity. Also, I think I found a way to teach you my healing skill. I know we didn’t have much success last time, but I’m confident we will be successful this time.”
“Okay, let’s go!”
Jenny’s eyes lit up with excitement once she heard she could learn a skill that would add another weapon to her healing arsenal. She practically pushed Elijah out of the communal area and pulled him toward the area where the new villagers resided. Elijah laughed at her enthusiasm.
“No need to rush,
Embarrassed by her actions, Jenny blushed and hung her head. She stopped urging Elijah forward and settled for walking beside him. Elijah smiled as he enjoyed the calm silent walk and didn’t offer any further comments on Jenny’s behavior. However, the silence was broken with a question from Jenny.
“Chief, I would like to ask your opinion on something?”
“Shoot,” Elijah replied without turning is head.
Jenny gave Elijah a confused look that lasted for a few seconds before a flash of understanding appeared in her eyes. “I wanted to ask your opinion on what cultivation technique I should use.”
“Oh,” Elijah turned to look at her as he continued walking. “What are you thinking about choosing?”
“Lunar Water?” Jenny said with plenty of doubt in her voice. “I’ve always been focused on healing and the water element is known for its healing properties. So, Lunar Water should be the best choice for me, right?”
“It does look that way, but it also looks like you don’t want to choose that technique. Do you want to tell me why?”
“Well, it’s because I…that is…I…I just don’t know if I should choose it.”
Looking at Jenny it was obvious that she was holding something back. Elijah pondered what it could be as he looked at her bowed head and blushing face. He had a few good guesses but, in the end, he decided not to say anything, and he moved the conversation to the other two techniques.

“Well, that leaves you with Solar Fire and Twilight Foundation cultivation techniques. Although fire can do a little bit of healing, it’s usually known for its destructive ability. Plus, I don’t think you would adjust well to the changes it would bring to your behavior. That leaves us with the Twilight Foundation technique.”
“Out of the three techniques it really is the best. It doesn’t have a great effect on your mind, and it allows you to achieve a perfect cultivation of the Body Tempering realm. Also, the technique is connected to the village’s foundation. If you use the Twilight Foundation you can cultivate faster and quickly reach a higher level. That means you will have more time and energy to focus on the healing arts.”
As Elijah spoke Jenny nodded along with a serious expression on her face. She seemed to agree with what Elijah said, but Elijah could tell that she wasn’t fully convinced. His suspicions were proven correct after Jenny continued speaking.
“What you said makes sense but…”
“You’re still not sure it’s the right choice for you.” Elijah finished for her.
Seeing her nod her head made Elijah want to shake his. He had a feeling that Jenny was already partial to choosing the Twilight Foundation technique. However, she was a bit too timid and wanted someone to help her take the final step.
“Look, if you’re willing to trust me, then take my advice and pick the Twilight Foundation technique.”
“Are you sure?” Jenny asked. She sounded convinced, relieved, and uncertain all at once.
“Yeah,” Elijah nodded. “It will create a good foundation for you to branch out and do other things. Also, the power of twilight should have some use toward healing.”
“Really?” Jenny’s eyes widened in surprise.
“It should, since twilight contains the light and dark element. The light element is useful for healing.”
“Of course, why didn’t I think of that,” Jenny responded with a voice full of excitement. “Great! Then I’ll cultivate the Twilight Foundation technique.”
“Happy I could help.”
“Chief, can you help me decide on whether I should take the martial or immortal path.”
“Nope.”
Elijah felt like he had already given Jenny enough advice on her cultivation path for the moment. Plus, he knew that both the martial path and the immortal path would be able to accommodate her desire to be a healer. However, if it was up to Elijah, he would tell her to choose the martial path.
Of course, Elijah was biased since he felt the hot-blooded martial cultivation was more interesting than the cold and aloof immortal cultivation. Also, Elijah’s unique cultivation technique was focused on the… Actually, Elijah didn’t know if he was cultivating toward the martial path or the immortal path. His future self didn’t say and there was no explanation in the detailed portion of the technique. He only knew he was supposed to follow his cultivation technique to the letter and be awesome.
“Why not?” Jenny asked. She looked shocked and a bit crestfallen when she heard Elijah’s reply.
“Because it’s time to go to work. Plus, I’m confident you will be able to make the right choice on your own.”
Jenny and Elijah arrived at the west side of the village where the recent addition to their village resided. Upon arrival, they could see some of the adults working together to build houses out of wood. The children in the group were either sitting down to play with each other or running around. However, everything came to a stop once Elijah arrived.
Silence rapidly swept through the area as more people noticed Elijah’s presence. However, the silence broke as people began to whisper to each other. Elijah didn’t say anything and simply stood in place as he waited for a representative from the group to approach him. As for Jenny, she was more than happy to let Elijah take the lead and stood quietly at his side.
“Greetings Chief. Is there anything we can help you with?” a man asked.
After a minute of waiting, Elijah had three people approach him. There were two men and one woman. All of them had on cautious expressions and kept a respectful distance.
“Actually, I’m here to help you.” Elijah answered with what he thought was a welcoming smile. “How have you guys been doing so far? Any problems?”
All three of them were caught off guard and it took a few seconds for them to reply. “We’re doing alright,” the woman replied. “Thank you for asking. We have some problems, but they aren’t things we can’t handle on our own. You gave us enough help by letting us stay here. It wouldn’t be right if we asked for more.”
“Are you sure?” Elijah asked as he turned to look at the children in their group. “I can see some wounds on those kids over there. I have a healing skill and Jenny here is the healer for our village. If you want, we can help them recover.”
Elijah smiled when he saw the eyes of the three people in front of him brighten. Also, he could here a few excited whispers in the distance. The woman in the group step forward and bowed to Elijah.
“Thank you! We would be extremely grateful if you would provide our children with healing.”
“No need to thank me. Since you agreed to follow me, this is the least I can do. I would have come earlier, but things have been pretty hectic recently. I apologize for the delay.”
“No, no, no, it’s us who should-”
After they exchanged a few more pleasantries, Elijah gave Jenny a nod and they both got to work. Initially they were focused on the wounded children outside. However, the adults led them to a group of more than forty children inside one of the freshly built homes.
At this point Jenny took the lead. She used her observation talent to examine all the children, so they could begin healing the ones with the worst wounds. Of course, Elijah was able to examine the children too when he used his Supreme Eyes talent.
All of the children had plenty of cuts. Some were shallow and a few were deep. None of these wounds were healing at the moment due to the various debuffs the children had.
“From what I can sense there are multiple illnesses interfering with the bodies recovery process,” Jenny spoke with a serious expression on her face. “I understand most of them and I can immediately administer the cures. However, there is one illness here that I have never seen before.”
“That’s because it’s not an illness,” Elijah said. “It’s a poison.”
