“Wait, what?” Elijah asked himself.

In Fallen Heaven, Elijah could quickly take in a large amount of information easily. Therefore, he was speed reading through the game notifications. He only registered the previous line of information after he began reading the next one.

Once Elijah registered the cost of his Call to Arms skill, he stopped reading his notification and gave the skill a second look. At first, Elijah felt confused because this was the first time, he saw a skill cost him astral energy. However, he quickly received enlightenment on how the skill worked from the memories of his future self. The cost of the skill was reasonable, but he wouldn’t be able to use it yet.

Moving on, Elijah continued to read the information about the badge system. He was able to create a physical badge that he could give to others and assign nonphysical badges to it. “Whew.”

Elijah let out a breath of relief once he finished reading all of the notifications he received. The notifications contained all of the rewards he received for completing the three quests. As Elijah picked up the storage bag on the ground and was about to look for Justin and Elder Jamal to discuss what they would do next, he saw that he received another notification.

Congratulations! You have met the requirements to obtain the War Chief Job. Would you like to change jobs? Yes, or no?

Without hesitation Elijah selected no. This was a decision his future self already made for him. Although the War Chief Job provided better benefits for combat it was lacking in other areas of ruling. As someone aiming to be supreme in all areas of ruling it was better to stick with the basic chief job that let him explore all areas of ruling rather than specializing in a specific area.

Of course, there were some unique jobs Elijah could consider changing to. For example, if Elijah was given the opportunity to obtain the Supreme Chief job or the Supreme Baron job, he wouldn’t hesitate to change his job. Those two jobs would most likely be jobs unique to Elijah because of his cultivation technique and the path he walked, but Elijah couldn’t be certain because his future self wasn’t.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

According to the memories of his future self, nobody had the word supreme in front a job name. Although Elijah couldn’t be one hundred percent certain, there was a strong chance that the word supreme would indicate a job or specialty that was unique to him. This was based on the fact that people in the future obtained unique jobs or specialties because they had a certain talent cultivation, technique, inheritance or bloodline.

“How were your gains chief?” Elder Jamal asked. “The quest is completed, right?”

“Yup, and the rewards I received are pretty good,” Elijah replied.

“Good. Justin and I talked it over and we decided it would be best for most of the warriors to return to the village with you.”

“What about preparing traps for the main group of goblins.”

“We found that the traps we set weren’t that effective. It was mostly the beast that roamed the forest that got caught in our traps. It would be a waste of time and energy to continue setting up traps in the forest for the incoming goblins. Plus, we don’t know when the goblins will arrive and its very likely that the traps will be destroyed by the time they do. Instead, it would be better to spend our time setting up traps and other defenses around the village.”

“If that’s the case, then why isn’t everyone heading back?”

“We’re standing guard, so we know when the goblins are close, and Justin and a few others are close to upgrading their jobs. I plan to help them quickly level up and complete the advancement quest.”

A smile spread across Elijah’s face when Elder Jamal finished speaking. Jamal had reached the first tier in the hunter job. Although Elijah’s Supreme Eyes talent didn’t let him see all the benefits that a tier one job provided Elder Jamal, he had already been impressed when he saw Elder Jamal’s archery skill during their final battle with the goblins.

Under Elder Jamal’s tutelage, Justin and the others would experience a sharp increase in their levels as a hunter and an increase in their skills. Elijah looked forward to the improvements they would have training with Jamal. As their strength increased, their ability to protect the village would increase as well.

“Having them stay back and train with you is a great idea.” The excitement in Elijah’s words could be easily felt.

Infected by Elijah’s excitement, a smile appeared on Elder Jamal’s face. “Don’t worry Chief. I have a feeling that this training will be extremely effective. The threat that the goblins pose toward the village should be sufficient motivation to improve themselves.”

“I agree,” Justin said. His expression was calm, but Elijah was able to see the fire burning in his eyes. “As we fought against the goblins with you, all of us gained a lot more experience towards our jobs than we normally would. I’m confident that I will be able to reach the first tier in the hunter job.”

“I’m sure your improvements were caused by the efforts you put toward your training over the years,” Elijah said.

“No!” Justin quickly shook his head with a serious expression on his face. “I’m sure your presence was the key factor that led to our explosive growth.”

“Fine,” Elijah grinned as he responded with a shake of his head. “I don’t plan on arguing with you if you insist on giving me the credit for your own accomplishments. In fact, if my presence is such a great help to you, then maybe I should stay here instead of returning?”

“There’s no need for you to stay,” Justin replied with a smile on his face. “You’ve already done enough. Not only did you help us improve in our jobs, but you’ve also helped me gain a specialty.”

Elijah’s eyes widened when he heard Justin’s reply. His actions were mirrored by Elder Jamal. Before either of them could ask any more questions for clarification Justin showed both of them his specialty.

Specialty: Sword

Level: 2, 5%

Description: A specialty focused on gaining mastery over the sword. Practice sword skill, fight with the sword, and study the sword to level up this specialty. All sword skills are 10% more effective.

“Looks like you manage to get the same specialty as your grandfather.” Elijah congratulated Justin after he finished reading the information about the sword specialty.

“Hahaha, you finally managed to learn the sword specialty.” Elder Jamal exclaimed. “When your grandfather hears this, he’ll smile for three days straight.” Elder Jamal embraced Justin as he congratulated him. While they hugged each other Elijah took a look at Justin’s status.

Elijah talked with Elder Jamal and Justin for a little bit longer before he began preparing to leave. He decided to leave the Goblins with Jamal and the others. Elder Jamal suggested that Elijah bring the goblins back because they could help build defenses in the village. Although the goblins were slaves and the chances for them breaking free was very small, Elijah still worried the goblins would find the opportunity they needed to break free and reveal information about the village. Elder Jamal didn’t share his worries, but he respected Elijah’s decision and agreed to keep the goblins.

It didn’t take long for Elijah to get ready to leave. Together with a few other warriors Elijah returned to the first cave they saw goblins occupying. By time they arrived, the time limit for the Will of the People skill elapsed.

You have remained away from your territory for too long. Please return to your territory to regain access to your chief job and regain your stats.

Elijah lost the percentage increase and the skills provided by his chief job. Also, he received a ten percent decrease to his stats. Fortunately, Elijah had a title that increased his stats by ten percent, so the negatives and the positives canceled out.

Once they arrived, Elijah and the other warriors immediately settled down to rest. They already ate with Justin and the others before they left so there was no need to prepare a meal. The warriors discussed the schedule for taking watch during the night. Since Elijah was the chief, he didn’t have to worry about preforming such duties.

Instead, he briefly considered cultivating before logging out. Elijah quickly rejected the idea a few seconds after it entered his head. He was still worried about the effects that his rapid increase in cultivation may have had on him and he decided to postpone cultivation until he had the opportunity to examine the condition of his real body. Without further ado, Elijah found a soft rock to lie on and logged out.
