Elijah opened his status page to look at the results of his long cultivation session and he wasn’t disappointed. His stats had significantly increased. As Elijah looked at his stats, he could feel the effect the increase had on his mind and body.
Moving his body Elijah could feel the strength and flexibility of his skin muscles and tendons. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath allowed Elijah to feel that his mind had become clearer and sharper. His perception toward his surroundings had improved as well.
“Sigh, it sure does suck that I still don’t have a proper cultivation technique.” Tyler announced. “If only I knew someone that had a legendary cultivation technique, they could share with me.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Boss Bitch responded. “There’s no way one of us could EVER have a legendary cultivation technique?”
“Hold on, I think I remember seeing Eli cultivating with a legendary cultivation technique.” Alan said. Alan was a young man with tan skin and short dark hair. Other than the small scar above his right eye, Alan looked exactly like his twin brother Allen.
“No way,” Allen said. “If Eli had a legendary cultivation technique, then he would DEFINITELY share it with us. Right Eli?”
“Yeah,” Atom added. “Especially since the cultivation technique the village has is so poor it isn’t even worth using.”
“First things first, I don’t have a legendary cultivation technique. I’m only using a cultivation technique that is extremely suitable for me.” All of the players scoffed when they heard Elijah’s reply. “I already have a quest to obtain a better cultivation technique for the village. Once, I got a better technique I will share it with all of you.”

Talking about the quest to find a better cultivation technique made Elijah think about the cultivation technique the village offered. Piss poor were the two words he would use to describe the cultivation technique. In fact, Elijah thought the cultivation technique was so bad that he didn’t hesitate to warn the other players about using it.
Of course, the players didn’t listen to him. They wanted to try it for themselves before they gave up on it. However, it didn’t take long for the players to give up on the cultivation technique and level up by absorbing astral energy from the beasts they killed.
Naturally, the players figured out Elijah had his own cultivation technique when he didn’t join them in killing beasts to level up. He told them he obtained cultivation technique that was better than what the villagers had through unique circumstances. When he told the players he wouldn’t share it with them, they said it was okay because they were doing fine killing beast in the forest. However, now that they saw the cultivation technique in action, it was natural for them to sing a different tune.
“And you can’t let us use your cultivation technique because…”
“Because it’s my cultivation technique. Now stop harassing me and let me finish getting ready.”
“Come on, your cultivation technique even gave you gold eyes,” Boss Bitch complained. “How can you expect us to move on after seeing something so amazing? Don’t you know how lucky you are? I would kill to get eyes like that.”
“I’m lucky because my eyes changed color. I can’t even see my eyes, so why would I care about something like that.”
Elijah found it amusing that BB was more focused on his cultivation technique’s ability to change his eye color than its ability to gather astral energy. The players spent a few more minutes harassing Elijah about his cultivation technique before they left to get ready. With a sigh of a relief, Elijah began his preparations to leave as well.
Once everyone was ready the group departed the cave. It was still nighttime, so there were plenty of predators moving through the forest. However, the two hours after dusk and two hours before dawn were considered the relatively peaceful periods of the night, so they should be able to travel through the forest with very little conflict.

Not long after the group began traveling, they managed to run into their first predator of the night. Instinctively, Elijah focused his gaze on the enemy and used his Supreme Eyes talent. As a result, he received more information than he normally would when he focused on something.
Supreme Eyes permanently altered Elijah’s eyes and gave it a golden color. The world looked more colorful when Elijah looked at it through his Supreme Eyes. Also, Elijah was able to see perfectly during the day and the night.
“Let me attack first,” Elijah announced to the group.
Elijah began running toward the front of the group with his sword in his right hand and his shield on his left arm. The bear was slightly bulkier than an average bear and dark smokey wisps were drifting off its brown fur. Elijah’s golden eyes met with the angry red eyes of the bear, and he used Soul Shock.
You have dealt 82 true damage.
“Attack, and make sure you aim for the critical areas.” Elijah announced.
The bear was left shaken and dazed by Elijah’s attack. Arrows and blades rained down on the bear for the next few seconds. Eventually, the bear began to regain control of itself, but Elijah immediately used Supreme Shout before it could do anything. In its stunned state, the group easily managed to bring the bears remaining health to zero.
After the battle was done it was time to reap the rewards. The players split the energy from the bear. Each of them absorbed a portion of the energy that the bear accumulated toward the next level. Elijah didn’t get any energy, but he did receive a notification saying two of his skills reached the next stage.

With a smile on his face Elijah dismissed the notification and continued moving. The group encountered a few more beasts on their journey. The battles were longer than the ones with the bear because Elijah held back on using his active skills. However, nobody was injured, and they managed to quickly arrive at the area where the next group of goblins were resting.
Goblin One had not misled them. He told them he knew the general direction of another group of goblins, and he could guide them there. The first thing Elijah did once they arrived was tie up and knock out Goblin One. It was best to eliminate as many unstable factors as possible before a battle began.
Next, Elijah observed the area with Justin and the other player by his side. Like the first group of goblins they encountered, this group of goblins had made a cave their temporary home. Elijah didn’t know the total number of goblins in the cave, but he counted thirty goblins lounging around on the outside.
“This should be easier than the last time,” Elijah whispered. “Although we don’t have the time to set up the traps like we did last time, this time a portion of the goblins have separated.”
“And we still have the element of surprise,” Justin added.
“So, were going to charge in and fuck them up?” Tyler asked.
Elijah gave Tyler a look that let him know Elijah thought his suggestion was terrible. He turned to look at Justin and continued discussing their plan of attack. The other player wasn’t able to say much to contribute to the planning because Elijah and Justin had already covered the important parts.
Less than a minute later the planning was completed. Justin shared the plan of attack to the other warriors, and everyone prepared to attack. A few minutes later, Elijah and the others silently began their attack.
“Attack,” Elijah whispered.
You have led a sneak attack against an enemy force.
Attack increased by 50% for 10 seconds.
With an arrow notched Elijah drew back on the string of his bow and whispered for everyone to attack right before he released his arrow. Once he released his first arrow Elijah immediately reached for another arrow, notched it, drew, and released. It took less than two seconds to perform these actions and Elijah continued to perform them until no more goblins moved.
Goblins screamed to release the pain, fear, and panic they felt from the first barrage of arrows. Before they could regain control of themselves and figure out what was going on, the second barrage of arrows rained down on them. Some goblins fell to the ground never to rise again. After the third barrage of arrows most of the goblins lay dead on the ground and after the fourth barrage of arrows the area in front of the goblin cave had become silent. However, it wouldn’t remained silent for long.
A few seconds passed before Elijah heard the footsteps and enraged cries of goblins. The goblins were coming to support their companions, but their companions were already dead. Elijah notched his arrow and patiently waited for the goblins to appear.
“Remember, we want to capture a few of them alive,” Justin announced. “Wait for the command to attack before firing two arrows. After that takeout your blade and get ready to charge.”
Seconds after Justin finished speaking, goblins began charging out of the cave. Elijah watched as the goblins looked around the area with fierce expressions on their faces. Their eyes showed they thirsted for blood but sadly they wouldn’t be receiving any.
“Attack.”
Once again everyone received a boost because they were launching a sneak attack. Elijah released two arrows at the goblins and saw several of them brought to the ground. Next, he took out his sword and shield before turning to look at Justin.
Justin returned his gaze and gave him a nod. The nod told Elijah everyone was ready to attack, and they were waiting on his command. Although Elijah said he would follow Justin’s lead, Justin gave his authority in battle to Elijah because his word could give everyone a boost.
“Has everyone switched to the warrior job?” Seeing nods all around Elijah gave the command. “Attack!” Elijah shouted and all of the warriors shouted with him.
Your words boosted the morale of your people.
Attack and Defense increased by 10% for 60 seconds.
Unsurprisingly, Elijah and the warriors received another boost as they charged toward the confused and injured goblins. The goblins tried to meet Elijah’s charge with the same ferocity they showed in the beginning. However, they were all in pain, their numbers had significantly decreased, and they were unable to activate their Goblin Frenzy ability.
Elijah was at the front of the charge, and he pushed down a level twenty-one goblin as he charged into the goblin horde. He raised his sword and brought it down on the neck of the next goblin he saw. Elijah received a critical damage notification as the goblin he struck fell to the ground and he continued pushing his way forward.
Charging into a sea of goblins was a thrilling experience. Elijah was at the front of the charge so he would meet the requirements for his quest. Also, charging into battle with powerful warriors behind him made Elijah feel like a bad ass.
Blood flowed as Elijah charged forward with the players and warriors beside him and behind him. The warriors spent more time than they needed to fight the goblins because they were trying to capture a few of them. None the less, the warriors were still able to quickly defeat the goblins. In less than ten minutes, the battle was over.
