Evan had gone back to the orphanage and saw a pair of books that were lying in his bed, but he couldn't recognize them. This raised quite the alarms in Evan's mind, if someone had entered in his room like that, it could mean that his location was compromised by a location searching skill. That meant that he was being tracked with either one location searching skill, or there was a massive combo of information acquirement skills and location searching skills at play, since he didn't gain much notoriety for now.
“Noche. We may have to run. Damnit, I thought that this world wouldn’t be so exactly like Dawn World. Already a net of location checking skills has been used in the worst case, probably because I am a big question that everyone with a few bucks wants to have answered. Bloody hell, this is already nightmare mode as it is.” Evan said as he looked around, and started checking the entire room. ‘I should try to contact a few contacts, maybe they are around. But good luck finding them. Perhaps asking Grandine about Nigredo should be a smart move, but it’s possible that doing so messes up lots of things.’ Evan thought as he was checking the room.
“No, we don't have to. I recognize the smell of those books. They are made by Lady Namika. Read them. They may be a gift from her to you.” Noche said as he floated around the books.
Evan took them and saw their titles. The first book was a book talking about magic in general and talked of a kind of spells that Evan did not know of. Incantations, they were in the Magician skill, but Evan did not know them. Incantations were spells that did not have chant but did not have any big effect and most were used for normal things like heating water or things like that, but some of them could improve a bit the power of the user. This was a surprise for Evan, this kind of spells weren't available in Dawn World and were certainly a useful asset even if they lacked in power.
After a pair of hours, Evan had managed to read the book and a message appeared in front of him. It said: "Do you want to reclaim the incantations that you should have? Y/N"
‘Of course I want them! I can use them for many things. Also, new spells mean new knowledge. Maybe I can get up to speed with the new things driven in Dawn World. But Noche sure knows how Namika works.’ Evan thought as he checked the mana window that appeared in front of him.
Evan pushed the Y part, and Evan felt like his head was being filled with the knowledge of the incantations. For him, this was a surprise at first but later remembered that it was exactly how learning skills was in Dawn World, so all was going well, but the headache was always an annoyance. Unluckily, there was no way to deal with the splitting headache caused by the sudden intrusion of information that felt as if someone was soaking Evan’s brain in water.
“No one sees the use of Ignite.” Evan said, as he placed his hand on his forehead, while sweating.
“I cannot learn incantations. Lucky you! But Ignite only lights up things.” Noche said as he chuckled, clearly with a sarcastic tone.
“Well. It can be used to heat liquids... Like blood. And can light up bombs that are placed in a place from afar.” Evan explained calmly, as he was trying to keep balance due to the dizziness he was feeling right now.
“And here we go. You are worse than the other Dark Lords in terms of nasty things.” Noche commented, as he scoffed.
“Heh. Now to read the second book.” Evan said, as he took a deep breath.
Evan touched the other book, and it disappeared, but then he noticed that he had gained a new affinity. Unluckily, this one felt even worse than the incantation one as he felt a massive headache, threatening to open his skull apart, which made Evan clutch his head in pain for a few seconds. Noche saw his status, as he used Full Analyze on Evan, and started laughing, out of disbelief with what he was seeing.
“A tome of affinity for earth magic! Quadra element mage! A bloody quadra element mage! And they are legends!” Noche said, clearly not believing what he had seen, as he looked impressed by the situation.
“Huh? That's rare and awesome, right? Well, I have the usual problem of skill points, but I have to be careful. After all, I don't want to waste skill points that could be used for more survival skills.” Evan said groggily, as his brain wasn’t fully functioning due to the massive information intake.
“There are four mages in the world with four different types of elements! Four! And you are the fifth one…” Noche said, as he cursed Evan’s talent.
“There will be incantations for Necromancer too? Right?” Evan asked with a grin on his face.
“No. But there are the rituals. A loss of time. They are extremely good if you have a lot of time to cast them. But they are useless if you don't have the materials. With a necromancer ritual, you can create lots of undead and empower them.” Noche replied calmly.
Evan smiled and started working on something he had in mind. He knew that slimes had a regenerative power, and he thought a good plan. If he could do potions he could sell them to Amelia and get extra money and information, maybe he could even obtain improvements to the orphanage with the money he obtains.
Evan started working in the potions and saw that his slime production skill was quite special. He had only to think about what effect he needed in the slime to produce it. But when it came to something that had to be put in a vial, he had to use produce material and fully understand the specific effect and the process in which the effect took place.
“I think that I am overusing the power of the monster devourer.” Evan said as he saw a sea of opportunities with produce material.
“Nonsense! The monster devourer power is to adapt to the necessity. Still, quite useful for a slime, but not quite good when it comes to stronger monsters who rely on magic or strong muscles.” Noche said with a proud tone.
“And you called it overpowered. I can make it overpowered, but I don't see it being overpowered on its own. You need to know what you are doing, and the cost isn't cheap.” Evan said as he scratch his forehead.
“It has quite the utility in early, but in late it has quite the strength and is quite resistant.” Noche said, as he sounded happy.
“Well, I will see more of it. Do you think I could produce iron strings? Or piano strings? They are good for strangling.” Evan said as he pondered a few fun ideas with produce material.
“It could be good. And maybe yes, but you need to let the slime digest iron. While you have a lot of effects... Surely you don't know a lot of materials.” Noche said, not considering that maybe Evan had more wisdom that he would show to him.
“Yeah... Wait... There's enhancing magic? I did have some options for using it, but never did learn it in Dawn World.” Evan said as he pondered a new scheme to become even stronger. ‘Also, mental note: Never tell Noche that I can already produce iron because I understand the element itself with chemical composition. Modern science for the win, with this skill, and it seems I will have lots of fun with produce material.’ Evan thought to himself as he smirked.
“Yeah.” Noche half-mindedly said.
“Well, the next step is to obtain more magic. Enhancing magic would be the ideal.” Evan said as he considered a few things. ‘What would happen if I enhance and then crystallize a slime part? Would it be enchanted? If that works, ladies and gentlemen: We have a money exploit, and one that isn’t corrupt!’ Evan thought to himself.
“Do you want to get more magic?” Noche said as he looked surprised.
“Well, for the conquering, I will need level 30. There are 60 points that I used quite a lot for now.” Evan said as he pondered his build.
“That means that you have 40 to use. Some close range attacks would be good for you. Later, get as much magic as you want.” Noche said.
“Yes, but focusing on the strength or the agility... It is not a good option.” Evan said as he didn’t consider soul consumption.
“Kill 400 monsters. 200 points for Strength and 200 for Vitality. Then you will be strong in terms of normal people. If you get 600 points in dexterity, your one-handed sword will have a lot of damage. You only require the strength to be able to attack for a while and good vitality to not get destroyed.” Noche explained.
Evan started thinking and noticed that Noche was right. With only magic, he could be defeated if he messed up, and so he had to ensure that he was strong enough to fight with a sword. But at the same time, he thought that there were far better options for his growth since he wasn’t going to deal with the close range.
But as he was considering things, a dark blob made of ink and mana sealed Evan and teleported him and Noche away from the room. Well, it felt like they had fallen inside a well and were falling to their death, but it wasn’t anything like that.

Meanwhile, the others had talked with Amelia and managed to get a deal to be able to kill monsters. Amelia would give them a 25% of the cost of the materials they obtain, but she would gift them the weapons they need. Mostly Legias was the one who required a weapon, and he took a bow with a lot of arrows, but Vivienne obtained a pair of brown gloves with a pair of mana crystals attached to them and every one of the team got a tailored leather armor and several healing potions alongside what Amelia gave to Evan and a permit to get out of the town as much as they wanted.
When the team got out of the city, they saw a tall man with pale skin, short black hair, blue eyes with a couple of black wings and was wearing a silver armor with a golden sun painted on the torso of the armor.
The team was surprised to see an angel with black wings, they were not the normal kind of angels and usually, they were rejected by the rest since they were regarded as heretical beings when it came to the church of Zerax.
“Hello, young ones. I am August. My teacher sent me to Elstivia to assist the hero, but he did not give me a good map of the area. Can you please tell me if I am close to the capital?” The angel known as August asked while looking at the children.
“Of course, you are in front of it. Pass through the gate, and you shall be on the right path to the castle.” Legias nonchalantly answered, with a smile, as he enjoyed having his weapon.
“Thank you, young elf! I hate having to work with idiots, like my teacher does.” August said with a warm smile.
“Well, angels do not come around here, almost never. So it could be that they lacked information about the city.” Legias calmly pointed out.
“I see. Then still, it is his fault for not scouting the area. But well, thanks for the help!” August said with his warm smile.
“Oh, you are welcome, mister August. I am Legias. Now my team and I have to do some monster extermination, so I believe that we have to leave. Have a good day!” Legias said as he moved along with the other children.
“Good luck in your hunt!” August said as he was going to talk with the guards.
August left and started talking with the guards while Legias and the others scouted the area to find monsters, to acquire levels and money from hunting monsters.

As Evan was falling down due to the sudden teleportation, he was starting to consider who could do such a thing. But turned out to be Namika, who appeared in front of him as she was falling too just to talk with him.
“Not even a warning? You know that communications are two-sided, right?” Evan asked as he frowned upon the goddess.
“Yeah, but in this case, time was running out. Azmosdei is in trouble, as a prophet has chosen to try to erase you preemptively.” Namika calmly said.
“And wants to mess with Azmosdei first? Maybe they are trying to mess my connection to the merchants. Good plan though, but bad target to start doing that, right?” Evan said as he pondered the situation.
“An Aren is there. That means that you will have to face an unknown type of enemy. I know you are not in the best state for that, but I will grant you one set of equipment from your inventory if you choose to assist Azmosdei. Alongside a mecha from the godslayer era.” Namika explained with a worried look.
“Hm. Well, might as well help out Woolman then. But they sure are underestimating the geezer. Unless they went for unknown terrain tactics. If so, I can see why you are fetching me. I don’t think you can pull this sort of stunts as much as you want to. Otherwise, Zerax would have a strike squad just for me.” Evan said, pointing out a few things about this situation that didn’t sit right with him.
“Yeah, in my case, it’s because I saved up a lot in giving blessings due to Zerax’s influence. So I can bend very slightly the rules, and pull stunts like this. I never thought it would come in handy for this kind of mess, until now.” Namika said as she smiled.
“Well, since I am already in this mess. Can you do a quick check for me? Just asking a bit around. I want you to check if the Technocratic Revolution is still kicking around. That group of punks were good for tech related skills. And by what I heard from you, and knowing that Woolman wouldn’t get messed up easily by some brats, I feel like your tech wipe worked as well as a taco Tuesday for any toilet. Or that, or the prophet skill tree is broken to the point of being disgustingly overpowered.” Evan said as he looked at Namika in the eyes.
“I can understand that. But the tech wipe worked out rather well. It’s only that a prophet is disgustingly powerful given the chance, and we stupidly allowed that chance to happen. Also, it’s been 700 years since we did the tech wipe: The technology has been recovering from the imposed dark age we placed. In fact, I expected that by now they would have forced us to do a tech wipe once more.” Namika said with her smile.
“But I guess that getting all those players has been an issue now that you are reincarnating them. That said, the hero doesn’t look like a player. And why did you lie to me?” Evan said as he scratched his chin.
“Well: Would you believe that a bunch of gods developed a handheld method to transport souls and create suitable bodies to send to their world, and gaslighting the players that they were playing an MMORPG instead of being agents for the gods or just mercs for the people?” Namika asked, as an answer to Evan’s question.
“I wouldn’t. It would be too surreal. But why? To have powerful people that could be used to fix your own squabbles? A sort of agency for powerful people with a clean cost?” Evan said, questioning the reason for the gods to use such a convoluted strategy.
“Also, since Earth doesn’t use mana and gets damaged by its inhabitants… We used said MMORPG to steal a tiny bit of mana each day, to fix the world we were making due to someone messing up with mana. We needed a lot of mana to modify it and make a thick mana saturated atmosphere that should never run out. And the agents are meant to avoid the Osiar mess.” Namika said as she just shrugged.
“Hm. Well, not like I mind it much. In my case, it was either eternal death or this… And I honor a contract. Better to have a journey than just speed running to a boring ending. But next time, just give it straight to me. I promise to not kill you on sight, after all, you are doing more than the one of Earth.” Evan said as he smirked.
“Thanks, that’s a relief. You could most certainly put me in trouble if you had your old powers from Dawn World. Either way, you’ll be able to see the consequences of your actions in Dawn World. Mainly said: What happened after your monsters went berserk.” Namika said as she smiled.
“Oh, great. More things I will be blamed for, but in reality it was someone else’s bullshit. Feels just like back at home, let me tell you. Dad gets drunk: My fault. And then, the beating I took was legendary. Fucking hell, you fuckers love to mess with me.” Evan said, just before scoffing.
“Don’t look at me. That’s on the populace, and I don’t blame them. Your undead went berserk once you were gone. And you had a bloody army of them, so we couldn’t just erase them in one go. So the people suffered a lot because you had your fun with creating monsters. Hell, even nowadays some remain. Especially your worst experiments.” Namika said as she frowned.
“Okay, mea culpa with the experiments. But you could have warned that you were kicking us out.” Evan said, admitting part of the fault but clearly considering in making another army.
“So the people survived however they could, and they did some… Crazy experiments. Yeah, let’s call them that. And made a new race, and they hate you for their existence. Mostly. But surely, they’ll think that killing you will kill the rest of the monsters. So they might try to kill you, or capture you to make sure their business never dies.” Namika said as she looked at Evan with a worried look.
“Eh, one more thing to consider. Well, F me across the Alps. More reason to start trying to find all the reincarnated, and their families, as soon as I am done with this. So please, tell me this fall is going to end soon and without me having to break my legs. I acquired Regeneration, but that doesn’t mean I like having to use it.” Evan said as he frowned.
“Yeah, don’t worry, just teleporting you with a HALO drop. New thing for you, old thing for me. Either way, don’t worry, you’ll be dropped at ground level. Just doing massive long travel from one side to another with a U turn fall.” Namika explained, as light started shining below Evan’s feet, and she disappeared.
“Oh great.” Evan said as he kept frowning.
As Evan finished speaking, he landed onto the ground of a forest he was aware of before. But the weirdest thing in that forest was the mana concentration, it was thick enough to see very small particles of mana floating in the air, as Evan saw them clearly with his only healthy eye.
Evan’s body, the prince’s body, was unnaturally attuned to mana and the dark lord was made aware of that fact right away. As Evan saw the particles, he smiled widely, he felt an unbound sense of happiness.
‘Even my old body in Dawn World wasn’t that attuned to mana. It may be a broken body, but I am sure that in due time… I can use this body way better than what the previous owner probably would have used it.’ Evan thought to himself, as he enjoyed the situation.
But as Evan was pondering about the unnatural attunement the prince’s body had, Azmosdei passed through Evan’s side. This made the young dark lord grab Azmosdei’s free hand, and pull him to the ground.
“Well, Woolman. Seems like someone planned some mess for you, and here I have been arsed to deal with it. Where are the bastards that are trying to off you, and why haven’t you murdered them?” Evan said with a dissapointed look, until he saw the mecha. ‘Ah, now I see. Mental Note: Whoever managed to fix that scrappie must die. How fucking annoying.’ Evan thought as he looked at the mecha.
“Oh, what’s this brat doing here? I didn’t ask for a test drive before killing the greatest merchant of Elstivia! But I shall take the extra test drive!” The driver of the mecha said with glee in his voice.
“Woolman, just stay silent and quiet.” Evan ordered to Azmosdei, who was sweating but followed Evan’s orders.
‘If I don’t stay silent and quiet, he might hit me too… I know I can defeat him now, but he can help me. Also, I can use Evan as bait to run away from this trap. Sorry, old friend, but survival comes first!’ Azmosdei thought as he decided to follow Evan’s orders fully.
Evan simply looked at the mecha, with a bored look, as he simply felt offended by the mecha, and decided to try out one thing he could do in Dawn World. And so his mana started swirling inside him, and traversed like an electric current all across his chest and converged in his right hand, as the right arm twitched due to the mana that was going through it.
“Oh, mana, converge. Just as all existence converged in one small sphere before exploding, you must converge. Then diverge in a flash of fire, which shall deliver warmth to the innocent people who suffer. Because fire must burn the corrupt, and spare the innocent.” Evan said, as he was chanting a spell.
As Evan chanted, the mecha was moving as fast as possible to swing one of the chained Morningstar arms to strike Evan’s head. But then Evan raised his hand, as a bright orange star-shaped light formed on his hand, while looking totally uninterested.
“Fire spell variation: Flashfire.” Evan calmly said, as his arm twitched once more due to a sudden spike of mana igniting and a bright flash of fire came out of the star-shaped light that had exploded while becoming a wave of fire.
The mecha received the full brunt of the spell, and melted away like if it was ice under strong sunlight, showing a small iron seat and a small bald dwarven male with a long and braided beard that reached his thigh, who was wearing a black bodysuit. This dwarf had black eyes, a few burnt scars on his face caused by some sort of cutting weapon engulfed in fire, tanned skin, a stout body.
“Even using a mana bodysuit to protect yourself from my attack. Congratulations, you were smarter than most people I found in this world.” Evan said with a disinterested look.
“Why!? Why I lost!? The mecha was one of the greatest creations the godslayers made! A show of the prowess of mechanics and science! A proof that magic would be defeated by science!” The dwarf cried out, as tears swelled up in his eyes, while Evan just looked at the dwarf.
“You? Lose? Are you dead? No. Come on, attack me. You only lose when you die, otherwise: You haven’t lost. That’s how I go. If a goddess wants to test me out with thugs coming to the orphanage I went in, then I would kill them. If I die, then that’s it. But I want to enjoy the journey to death, because that’s what life is, after all.” Evan said, with a slightly surprised face.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
The dwarf looked surprised at Evan for a moment, and then lunged at Evan. He thought that the brat was looking down on him, and so he thought he had a chance if he could grab the brat and crush his neck, but that was a totally delusional belief as Evan shot a fire bullet through the dwarf’s stomach.
“Good job. Even if you lost now, you still had guts and tried to kill me. Instead of running away. Even if it was due to a delusion of yours, that means you walked onwards unto death. Few can take their chances and try it. So good job.” Evan said as he smiled warmly at the dwarf.
“Why are you this strong? Does it feel lonely to be this strong? To stand atop mere people like me, and crush them like ants?” The dwarf asked at Evan, while coughing blood.
“Lonely? Well, maybe it’s because I have never been truly loved until I made the homunculi. I truly don’t mind those that attack me. They recognized me as an enemy to kill, and so I responded in kind. Those who did things that disgusted me, they became my enemies, and so I hurt them, stole from them, and did far worse things. Those who did things that pleased me, had my blessing, and so I helped them. While the ones who loved me unconditionally, I loved them in kind. And I toyed with those who entertained me. That’s all my life, summarized, both here and in the other world.” Evan replied as he shrugged.
“I see-” The dwarf said, before coughing a lot of blood and gurgling.
“I suffered, I loved, I cared… I did all the things I could do, as I wanted. I lived for my own beliefs, even if I couldn’t live for my own pleasure. Heh, this sounds like an obituary. Either way: In this life, I will do things as I please, to make my journey the most entertaining one for myself. That is my one and only ethic, and my own morality, even in my past life. Well, whatever passes as morality for an insane man. So, goodnight, foolish dwarf whose name I don’t know. Since I don’t know your name, I will just remember you for your actions: Even if those actions slightly annoyed me, you proved to have a strong mind. If you remember this when you reincarnate, which I hope so, come and fight me again if I still live by then.” Evan said as he smiled at the dwarf.
The dwarf could only look at Evan, as he died, while Evan simply smirked once the dwarf died. Azmosdei could only look in surprise, he still felt like he could win as Evan’s right arm started twitching again, but he felt like it would be slightly harder for him with his old body to defeat Evan.
“Ah, this body seems half ready to use spell variations. Expected it to fail, but only had a minor maladjustment in accuracy. My head seems more used to using spells, I suppose the brain got used to the 600 points in intelligence with the training. Not bad. After all, so much intelligence shouldn’t be in a developing brain. Reincarnation is quite fun, Woolman. Isn’t that right?” Evan said as he smirked.
“Better than eternal death, seeing how it was just being a displaced soul. At least, we have a chance to do things better. If it weren’t for that bloody prophet.” Azmosdei said as he scowled.
“Hm, so we both are in a hunting ground for a prophet? What sort of skill tree is a prophet?” Evan asked as he scratched his chin with his right arm, as he used Regeneration to fix it.
“Yes, and it’s a skill tree that allows someone to see the future! So we should be teleporting away! I don’t know what they have left, and I am not planning on sticking here to see it!” Azmosdei exclaimed, as he kept sweating. But now he was sweating out of exhaustion, due to his old body having exhausted itself with the running he had done.
“Oh, well. That’s true. But I have been arsed by Namika to come to your rescue. So might as well prove myself once more, and murder the rest of the people sent to kill you. That way, the prophet will have no other choice than to shut up and leave you alone. In fact, you should find some godslayers and put that prophet’s head in a pike. Like a brochette.” Evan said before starting to laugh madly.
Then the Aren that had caught Azmosdei by surprise walked towards Evan in the thicket they were in, following the trails of the burnt woods left by the massive wave of fire that Evan released when destroying the mecha.
“Finally you appear, fiend.” The man said as he glared at Evan.
“Oh? Who are you? And why are your eyes this weird?” Evan asked as he looked at the man’s golden eyes.
“My name is Arsei. From a special race called the Arens. We were made to destroy your creations, Black Flame Devil. After your creations caused a disaster in this world-” Arsei said, as he glared at Evan, before being interrupted by Evan shooting a fire bullet that grazed the left side of his neck.
“Don’t fucking dictate your obituary to me. I am not going to listen to it, and forget about me writing it. Name, explanation of your eyes. You did so, so don’t fucking tell me all your life.” Evan said as he scowled.
“Hm, I guess that you are angry since I caught Woolman by surprise with a tripwire.” Arsei said as he slightly showed a smirk.
“Hm? Did you? This is why you fucking aren’t on the godslayer rankings, Woolman. You get nervous, and then fall for stupid traps. I hoped that with how old you look, you would have improved that. Either way, who is paying you? Or roped you in, I simply don’t care about your motives. I just want the name of your employer, so I can go try out how many pipe bombs I can stick up their ass. After that, you can fuck off… And by that I mean either get the hell outta here, or just die.” Evan said, while he started smiling like a demon, clearly angry by the fact that Woolman had been ambushed.
“Do you think that with that child body, you can kill a trained soldier? How delusional you are-” Arsei said, before clenching his hand. As he clenched his hand, he circulated his mana, and it came out of his body and form a barrier around his body to block fire bullet shot by Evan.
“Don’t fucking underestimate a child, you brat. And if you wanted to start a war, do it properly. Start it with arrows, spears, and swords. Not with a scrap of a mecha, of God knows when. Next time you displease me, I am going to send you to the afterlife.” Evan said as he frowned while glaring at Arsei.
Arsei glared at Evan, considering his words as an insult due to the effort it took to get that machine to work properly, and pointed at Evan with his index finger and middle finger, from which fire sputtered out and became a fire projectile that haphazardly flew towards Evan, while the barrier dissipated.
Evan simply sidestepped at first, only to see the projectile following him. This made the young dark lord to run away for a few seconds, before using another fire bullet to counter the spell and extinguish the projectile with another projectile.
“I see. A new type of skill that uses hand signals to work. It probably is faster than most spells, unless you are a master level magician or know a few tricks to quicken the spell casting process. I am more of the latter, since I have my magician skill tree locked. Well, I don’t want to spend hours fighting you. It’d be annoying. And Azmosdei is being a good boy, so might as well do him a favor and defeat you quickly.” Evan said as he opened his extra inventory and started checking his inventory as it formed as a sort of mana window that showcased the items he had.
As Evan looked inside the inventory, he saw a black vajra with golden engravings alongside a small star shaped earring. This made him sigh and pull out both items, grabbing the vajra with his right hand, as he used levitation to put on the earring while his ear produced a hardened slime needle that would pierce his lower lobe to make the hole for the earring. It wasn’t of Evan’s liking, but he didn’t have time to grumble about it, as Arsei charged at Evan with his iron sword in his left hand.
“Damnit, you can’t stay there for half a second, huh? Good for you.” Evan said as he swung the vajra as it released a lightning bolt on Arsei.
Once Arsei was struck by the lightning bolt, he was electrocuted with enough voltage to send a normal man to the afterlife. While he managed to stay alive, due to his genetics, he fell to the ground as he was almost dead due to the impact.
“This is what happens when you don’t wait. You get smoked.” Evan said as he finished putting on the earring, and an almost transparent aura made of mana surrounded Evan once he put it on.
“What sorcery is this?” Arsei asked groggily.
“Not a sorcery. Just an active skill of the Vajra of Five-Hundred Poisons and Five Truths. Five Thunderous Wisdoms. I can shoot a thunderbolt with a voltage equal to a thousand times my intelligence stat. I can only shoot five times per day, but hey… Better than nothing. It was just a small trinket of my inventory, dammit Namika… You could have given me any of my armor sets. Now, when the Buddhist alliance sees it, they’ll know that I raided them. That goddess is too much of a mischievous minx for her own good.” Evan said as he sat atop the electrocuted Arsei.
“Ugh, what a bastard. Kill me if you want to.” Arsei weakly said.
“Fuck off. You started this by attacking Woolman. In fact, I am grateful to you. Because now I have a fun weapon. It’s not the best, but fuck it. At least I have something to use that isn’t my spells or slime.” Evan said as he scowled.
“Your damnable inventory is a hellscape, so sh-” Azmosdei said, before Evan glared at him, which made him gulp in fear.
“If you don’t want to learn what shock therapy is: Shut up. Either way, Arsei, who is the bastard that roped you into this?” Evan said as he glared at Azmosdei.
“Prophet Naliala. The prophet sent thugs during the month you were supposed to appear, this month, to Cherub’s Rest to take down the orphanage. The first times, it failed because of Sir Rubeus coming to defend the place. But then, the prophet talked with the elders of the church… And well, the elders want a nun for the position of hero’s spouse, and they need a nun without an orphanage for said position.” Arsei replied. ‘If I will die, then might as well guide that bastard to his death. Not even he could get close to the prophet. And so he will die.’ Arsei thought, as he closed his eyes.
“Good, that’s all I need to hear. It does explain all the things that slightly annoyed me in my first day of this second life. I don’t want to hear sob stories of how I am supposed to destroy the world, or some bullshit like that, or that the prophet is paid by the king to kill me. I can’t truly find any other reason why they would want to kill me. Furthermore, I will not storm their place right away, as that would be stupid and boring. I will prepare accordingly, and then murder until the last assistant of that prophet. Anyone who has helped Naliala for this plot is dead, only that they don’t know that yet, since I will undoubtedly murder them for this insolence. Either way, I will try something with you.” Evan said as he placed his free hand onto Arsei’s neck, specifically on top of the wound the fire bullet left.
As Evan touched the wound, Arsei moved his body. But it was too late for Arsei, as a small snake-like slime entered inside Arsei’s neck and crawled through the veins towards the brain and then exploded. The death was instant, but also extremely painful, for Arsei.
“Well, the experiment seems to work. I would love to have more test subjects for this. But well, I will have to just try and see. “ Evan said as he smiled widely, with a wicked grin on his face.
“Evan, don’t lie to me. But you aren’t doing all this for yourself, right?” Azmosdei said, as he wanted to question Evan.
“Hm. Well, my family has been given a terrible time in this world, so the least I can do is give back the lack of kindness they had. But also, I saw a few bright children who could change the world for the better. I found it ironic that it took a dead man to grant them a proper chance to build a proper future.” Evan said as he smiled warmly.
“So you are just doing it for your own entertainment. That’s not it. You are kind, even if you don’t want to seem altruistic. But you are too honest to even lie, yet you can hide the things you want to hide.” Azmosdei said as he took a deep breath. ‘Well, if I take him with me with City Teleport, the great earring of the enlightened god will break the barrier. Namika, thanks for the assistance.’ Azmosdei thought to himself as he smiled.
“Well, isn’t that sort of irony one of the loveliest? Just like the irony of a dark lord saving people? I just don’t want to be called a hero. After all, I am just a villain who does as he wishes to.” Evan said as he chuckled.
Azmosdei simply shrugged and took hold of Evan’s shoulder, as mana surrounded both godslayers and engulfed them. After a few seconds, they were gone and had been teleported back to Crelens. Due to the barrier, it would have failed, but Namika had already broken in by dropping Evan, and so they didn’t even require the earring that Evan had acquired to go back to Crelens.
But Azmosdei calculated the entire trajectory so he and Evan would be separated and sent to random positions inside the capital right after, to avoid dragging Evan into trouble as a payback for his assistance.
