Kanbe went to the place where the King and the nobles were having a meeting and saw how they were shouting, inside the palace, as the guard was taking a tall woman with pale skin and black eyes, short golden hair, wearing a golden dress with a pair of high-quality high heels that seemed a noble while it seemed clear that they were about to imprison her, and remembered that she was the noble that the two kids were protecting. Kanbe wanted answers, and he was going to get them no matter what happened, but he wasn’t going to let the guard just take it away as he recalled how the medievals did their interrogations.
“Stop! I want to ask this woman a question.” Kanbe said as he went towards the noble woman, while the guards looked surprised at Kanbe.
Then the vice leader of the guard stopped Kanbe, and grabbed his arm with a strong grip. The vice leader of the guard was a tall man with long blonde hair, black eyes with a scar in his left cheek who was wearing a white armor with a pair of golden stripes and wielded a sword and a shield. He was a noble of the most important slave-trading family in the human kingdom, and his name was Josh, but he was known as a rather trustworthy noble that was a proper guard.
“Sir Hero. This woman has been accused of treason and conspiracy. She will be captured, turned into a slave and interrogated. Slaves cannot lie, after all.” Josh calmly said as he looked at Kanbe.
“There is a better way to do this kind of investigation! Fair lady, allow us to ask you one thing. Did you meet Edward Leonhard after his sudden death?” Kanbe said as he made sure to look at the noble’s face.
“No. I did not! If I did-” The noble said as she quickly started trying to explain herself, in a nervous state due to the stress of the situation, while she tried to avoid being dragged by Josh.
Kanbe looked at the expressions of the lady. He had learned from his father to know when someone was telling a lie, and he was confident in his capacity of doing so. After all, his father had been a cop until he got killed by a thug and his grandfather was an old retired veteran of war.
“She knows nothing.” Kanbe declared, as he looked at Josh with a glare.
“Huh!?” Josh exclaimed as he looked surprised. ‘Come on, rain on my parade, will you? My perfect chance to take out a treacherous noble, and surprise: Hero to the rescue of the hapless fool! I know that already, but I can happily make her give me all of her assets! Also, there’s no way in Inferno that this girl wasn’t involved! The coincidence is way too big to consider it as coincidence!’ Josh thought as he tried to hide his anger on his face.
“She is scared. Someone so scared would spill everything. Evan would never use her.” Kanbe explained as he looked at Josh’s face, and scowled at him as he saw small micro-expressions of angers in the vice-captain’s face. ‘Nobles tend to be too proud to admit a mistake, I might have made an enemy out of him for saying it like this… Damn it. They fund the king with taxes, and so I get funds from them.’ Kanbe thought to himself.
“Why!? She is a noble that holds a lot of influence and votes! If she tried to stop slavery and cause any kind of undesired trouble... We would have a hard time stopping her.” Josh said, doubting the ability of the hero to detect lies. ‘Come on, bite it and let me get her as a slave! The king will benefit from this way too much!’ Josh thought to himself.
“But Evan is smart and knows that someone who gets scared this fast will be only a liability. Like when he spared us. He knew that killing us was a fast and easy solution for his problems, but he saw that he would have the guard after him, and so he prepared a way out. This time he prepared a trap and a possible scapegoat. And here we only have the scapegoat.” Kanbe said, as he scratched his chin. ‘At least be logic about this. Put it something about the treason at most, but don’t go after this.’ Kanbe thought to himself, hoping that Josh would stop it.
“So you mean that this is not a legitimate plan of his? And what this means?” Josh asked with a frown on his face.
“He already got what he wanted. He believes that I am dead and Saida is dead. But why would the black flame devil want her dead?” Kanbe replied, pointing out the most important fact of the situation.
King David junior walked near Kanbe and looked righteously angry at the situation, due to Saida’s death. It was a mess that he would have to deal with, and probably would have Katas righteously angry, without even considering the questions of where the guards were to keep her safe. That made things a lot harder than they were already, specially since he knew that Evan had nothing to do with Saida's death. This death was all on Sumeragi, but saying that would mean that he would have to explain what he had done to Sumeragi, and that would make having the hero on his side a lot harder.
“Simple. She was an insult to her mother's memory. She was hard to deal with, and she hated Legias. For a man of family like him... That would hurt a lot.” David said as he looked at Kanbe. ‘We need a culprit, right now. If Katas gets here, first the debt will be impossible and maybe the elven king decides to ask for repayment right away.’ David thought to himself.
“And more if what I found out is true. Legias is the son of Legadonia. Like, Saida is the daughter of Legadonia.” Kanbe said, considering the king’s words and trying to be more polite to both the king and the guard.
“And maybe Sumeragi just killed her to cause me a lot of troubles. You know, average plan to make us all run in circles.” Josh added, as he considered other options that would be beneficial for him and the king.
“The kids that protected the noble ... They knew Evan and Saida. And Sumeragi attacked her, knowing that she was his niece. He killed to stop Saida to do something shameful. I am still not sure, but I believe that the man who we call Evan can be the black flame devil. But also it could be that Edward Leonhard took that name to scare us. After all, he was attacked.” Kanbe said as he looked at the king, deciding to just explore all the possibilities while trying to be polite to both the king and Josh.
“Both options put that Evan as someone who will not trust us again. And he will do anything to stop us.” David said, pondering the situation. ‘And let’s hope it’s Edward, if it’s Evan… The fact that he has not killed Kanbe means that he is not a threat for him, hence he will wait until the hero becomes enough of a treat for him.’ David thought to himself, terrified by the prospect of Evan being who he said he was.
All the nobles started whispering, they could not understand what was happening, but things got too complicated for them. This was something that could easily upset the entire country and cause a war with Rivialt, and it was clear that Elstivia lacked enough military power to even consider fighting Rivialt.
Caroline saw the entire debate and started sweating. She was in a bind right now, Sumeragi would go to meet her. That was a fact that she knew... And Evan was being suspected already. Now she had to act to stop them, otherwise Nigredo’s plan would be impossible to carry out.
“If fate is trying to be funny... I am not laughing.” Caroline said as she scowled. ‘Damn it all to Inferno, even the fear towards Dad’s past won’t stop them if they consider that he killed Saida. Especially in such a roundabout way. Killing a princess is nothing simple, at all!’ Caroline thought as she cursed her own luck.
“What do you mean, Caroline?” Kanbe asked cautiously, considering that she wouldn’t risk herself for no reason.
“Simple. I know Sumeragi. He usually comes to meet me. After all, I was a good friend of his sister. But should we care about this small conspiracy? Saida was insulting the pride of the elves! She broke the law. So if she got killed, good for us! The elves could have killed Kanbe accusing him of corrupting Saida! If that Evan had all of this planned, he saved our lives!” Caroline said as she glared at David.
“True. But why the noble grabbed kids?” David asked, as he thought he was enough silent to avoid any reason why she would get them.
“For a reason that would have tainted her reputation. She knew that you wanted her out.” Kanbe replied calmly.
“And did not trust her guards to protect her.” Caroline added.
“But by chance or by Evan's meddling... The guards she obtained were friends of Evan. Saida tried to make them betray him... But unlike me... She only got killed. But why Evan would be interested in slavery?” Kanbe muttered to himself, as he considered what was going on.
David started sweating because he was already seeing that Evan was interested in it to demolish his few connections and the few pillars that sustained his reign. That meant that he was in Evan's sights, and probably knew what he had done to Sumeragi.
“Evan knows of the deals with the elven king. And wants to disrupt them because of a tantrum.” David said as he was sweating due to the stress he was feeling right now.
“Huh!?” Kanbe exclaimed, surprised by David’s words.
As David spoke, the nobles got worried. They haven’t truly heard about the situation with the elven kingdom, as the debt with Rivialt wasn’t shown in the country’s economical papers that the Bank of Ezneas posted monthly.
That said debt wasn’t posted in the Bank of Ezneas meant it was a political kind of debt, and that it went below the table covertly, while Elstivia was having a boom of profits thanks to the food business and the slavery industry that was booming.
“I said it! I even allowed Saida to join because of those deals! I should give 10000 slaves minimum in four years. If not, I will be unable to pay the debts of the kingdom with Rivialt. All because Dad decided to ignore it during his life!” David admitted as his paled, and he shivered as he had a panic attack.
“Dammit. That's a lot.” Were the words that came out from Kanbe’s mouth, too shocked to even ponder how evil the debt towards Rivialt was. The young hero couldn’t even start to ponder how many people would suffer due to the debt, and his mind was in utter and absolute shock.
The entire room started talking and debating, but they stopped trying to make a slave out of the noble that was escorted by Zerana and Flint, as her and Caroline were nowhere to be found. She left to warn Evan, running as fast as she could, as she used the pretext of taking the noble away from the castle to ensure that she could go back to her household, since she was innocent. All of his plan was going to be jeopardized beyond any kind of limit, and it was going to take all the country by surprise for sure.
***
While David and the nobles in the castle were discussing the situation regarding Saida’s death, Pik had finished the diagnosis on Ivy as she left her in a bedroom placed in an adjacent room of the northern area in the godslayer cave, to rest in a bed after a thorough examination.
As Pik went back to the room in which Gio and Hermes were, she saw them both talking like old friends meeting after ages has passed. She was clearly worried about Ivy, due to what she had found out after doing a thorough examination, and wanted to talk to Hermes, but she couldn’t find the words for it.
‘I should tell him, but I know he won’t like it. Not only that, he might as well go to kill the previous owner of Ivy for what he did to her.’ Pik thought as her face paled, while remembering what she had noticed.
Hermes looked at Pik, who had a pale face and looked clearly worried, as he noticed her face and rushed to Pik’s side. Gio looked at Pik, and noticed the pale face, which made him widen his eyes and clench his fists.
‘Let me be wrong, Pik. Let me be wrong this time, and it’s not what I am considering.’ Gio thought, as fear clenched his heart, while walking closer to Pik.
“Are you okay, Pik? How is Ivy?” Robin asked as he looked worried about Pik.
“Ivy… Ivy is in a much worse state than we could even anticipate. She doesn’t have skills, at her age. You know what that means, Robin.” Pik replied, as her body shivered, and she tried to hold her arms.
“Someone stole all her talent. Probably the same individual that enslaved her. A talentless person in Terra is either going to be a slave, in the underground red light districts, or dead. No skill trees means that she can’t learn skills. And in this world, that’s fatal.” Gio said as he gritted his teeth in anger.
Robin felt how the world was crumbling in his own perspective, he hadn’t checked the Ivy’s status sheet, but this was bad. She needed skills to work in most jobs, and those that didn’t require skills were either slavery or worse. It was a fate worse than death for Ivy, and while he didn’t form a close relationship with her… Robin’s empathy made him feel an anger that couldn’t be held back.
“Who did that? Tell me, Pik. I will go to kill that bastard right away. How they dare to do that to an innocent like Ivy?” Robin coldly asked, in such a cold tone that made both Gio and Pik reminisce about Evan back in Dawn World. It was as if all light within Robin had just extinguished, and was replaced by darkness.
“I don’t know! There are tons of nobles in Elstivia that do this kind of bullshit! Probably you hijacked her transport to the owner that would have turned her into a maid or any sort of perverted job for a slave!” Pik replied as she had a burst of anger with Robin, due to how stressed she was.
“So, a country issue. A country issue that we ignored, because we didn’t want the gods to interfere with our own things! We thought that they could do things better than our ancestors did on earth. And look, Evan was right. He warned us that any sentient being ends up tripping on the same rock twice. Well, he might do a parade when he notices that.” Robin said as he took a deep breath.
“Look, Robin. Calm down. You too, Pik. It’s not about going to get pay back for what one bastard did to Ivy. She needs help, and we can give it to her. Let’s focus on that, right now, later we can discuss fixing this country. And for the record, Robin, we both were against the idea of letting the countries do that kind of thing. Just like you, Isaac, Vizgard, Wukong, and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Wukong ignored the voting, and we just couldn’t do that. It was a democratic choice.” Gio said as he tried to step between Pik and Robin.
Robin looked at Gio, and simply sighed. He knew that Gio was right, Ivy’s wellbeing was of more importance than dealing with a slaver. After she was healed, he would have time to make the slavers pay for their sins.
“Yeah, but the problem lies in getting her stats. It doesn’t matter if we heal her up, and she gets crippled instantly.” Robin said, while he massaged his forehead, as he felt a heavy headache due to the stress and anger he was feeling.
“You are right, Robin. We can’t operate her like this. She’ll die in the middle of the operation. But what can we do about stats? I could augment her stats, but probably she’ll die in the process. Her vitality is crap, after all, and let’s be honest: Our equipment lacks a lot of the materials since most of the mythril spots are taken by companies.” Pik said, as she tried to consider what to do.
“Well, then. We have a solution.” Gio said as he smirked.
“Do we? It’s not like we can get elixirs to get her ready.” Pik said, doubting Gio’s words.
“We need Evan for this one. But the guy managed to convince the Chinese to pay him for raiding their bases, as he called it a security inspection. I am sure he can con a goddess by now.” Gio said as he chuckled.
“Oh, great. Deal with the gods and goddesses. We may be godslayers, but there are groups of godslayers that work with the gods. And they hate Evan, while also fearing him since he was an expert on attacks rated E. E for everybody, that is.” Robin said as he shrugged.
“By what you said, a normal deal will be our death. And it would be better to locate a priest or a druid of Edia. Or maybe a priest of Ezneas. Both Ezneas and Edia have abilities that can help Ivy. And both are known to not make abusive deals.” Gio explained.
“Great ideas, but consider that she can’t wait eternally until we made such deals. The ideal would be to use status increase potions, but only a hoarder like Evan could even consider making them.” Pik said, while putting her arms below her chest.
As Pike talked, a golden sphere made of mana snuck inside the cave. Usually, it would have been detected by the alarm system in the cave. But this time, it didn’t, and went towards Ivy’s location. Due to Robin, Gio, and Pik being too focused on how to save Ivy, they didn’t see the golden sphere going past them as it phased the red walls and arrived to the bedroom in which Ivy was resting.
The bedroom had black floor metal tiles, which had engraved several golden lines that guided the path out of the bedroom, and each line guided the people towards a different area of the cave. The roof of the room had small LEDs all across the area, to give an even light to the entire room, the walls were the same sort of red walls that were across the entire cave.
Within the bedroom, there was simply a metallic wardrobe, a steel chair, a sort of black cube on top of a metallic table, and a yellow bed with a wooden frame. Inside the bed, Ivy was resting calmly, covered by the yellow sheets of the bed.
“Found the little destined one. She was destined to die once she was eighteen, but well… I believe it would be fun to play with the destiny that rotting and slothful bastard of Cinmos has written for her. Also, if I work well in the investment, I might survive Evan’s return. Maybe it’s not required, but a safe bet is never to be ignored. And in the worst case, might as well have her as a Gold Lord. She might not be a player, but she’s connected to players, and Gold Lord is a skill tree that automatically becomes unusable when you can use magic. Hm, how ironic: Her own fate to be a slave maid until she was 18 and die due to her bones breaking down made her exactly the perfect individual for me” A womanly voice, with a rather mature tone, came out from the sphere as the sphere started going inside Ivy’s body.
Stolen story; please report.
As the sphere fully invaded Ivy’s body, Ivy started feeling wrong, as if her mind was being dragged to a nightmare and her body felt as heavy as a rock. She couldn’t scream, and started to feel a fever, while the godslayers were focused on debating how to help Ivy. None knew how fortunate that moment of lack of vigilance until Ivy woke up once more.
***
Inside Ivy’s mind, a golden area was formed to hold a sort of dream for Ivy. Ivy’s consciousness was dragged into that sort of dream, as she found herself wearing only a slightly transparent golden dress.
In front of Ivy, a tanned woman with long natural golden hair that had a sort of primal tattoo going across her entire body, green eyes, a chest that could easily be an E cup, a plump backside, plump lips on a slightly circular face that had golden eyeshadow and golden lipstick.
This woman was wearing a short golden with red stripes forming an V shape from her navel to her chest, with a sharp V cleavage to emphasize her own chest, transparent stockings, and a pair of 15-inches golden platform heels.
“W-Who are you?” Ivy asked cautiously, not knowing what was going on.
“Oh, I am Ezneas. The goddess of fortune. Being honest, you and I can benefit from a deal. Unlike Namika, I am not going to try to put wool over my agent’s eyes. She did it, since she picked the worst psycho out of the godslayers. But I dislike that idea, after all trust is a merchant’s lifeline.” Ezneas said as she looked at Ivy, and nodded to herself after being satisfied by what she was saying.
This made Ivy look surprised, she never had seen a statue of Ezneas and never had the time to imagine how she would look like. Ezneas was clearly known across the world, and the second most reputable goddess on Terra (only behind Edia), but it was known that Ezneas was the goddess most involved in mortal affairs as she made sure to keep an eye on the money transactions all across the world.
‘I must be dreaming this! But I never dreamt about these kinds of things! Maybe it’s because I am free from the slavers that made me work so hard… If so, I must thank sir Robin once more! He helped me out so much! One night without having a nightmare, oh what a good thing!’ Ivy thought to herself, as she looked at Ezneas surprised.
“Before you say something stupid, since I can read your mind: No. You are not dreaming this, Ivy. I decided to interfere in this case. I usually just oversee the money transactions, but it’s clear that some are trying too hard to avoid being caught doing illegal trades. And Zerax, since it helps his plans, is too happy about it. While he is helping those slavers, and has worked really hard to make the people more like sheep with skills like Zerax’s Wisdom for his clerics.” Ezneas said, as she looked at Ivy with a serious gaze.
“O-Oh! I-I am sorry!” Ivy said, as she felt her privacy breached most severely by the goddess.
“Since Cinmos and Zerax are buddies, and Zerax decided to mess with my turf, I decided to mess with Cinmos and Zerax at the same time. That means that I will ensure that your fated death doesn’t happen, it’s well within my capacity to do that, while granting you a chance to mess up with Zerax’s plan.” Ezneas said as she flicked her fingers, which had long nails and were clearly manicured and painted golden, as mana came out of her body and formed a golden chair.
“Why me? And most importantly, how is Zerax messing with the transactions specifically?” Ivy asked cautiously, still believing she was in a dream.
“Well, if the Bank of Ezneas can’t see all the transactions and some transactions alongside some embezzling of the funds of a country happen… How would it look like to those that trust the bank? The clients would lose trust in the bank, and start trying to get their own cut of the corruption that happens in said country. Which will lead to the country having a huge amount of corruption, and out of control deals, while I lose believers. The mere act of paying appropriately for a deal is a prayer towards me, but if the people will try to pay inappropriately and try to cheat each other… I think I don’t have to explain further, right?” Ezneas replied, as she explained the situation to the young girl.
“Oh, I see! Indeed, that would be a big problem for you and for everyone in the long term! After all, gaining more money and just hoarding it will devalue it. Without counting the fact that losing trust means that people will suffer from those that lie and cheat.” Ivy said, as she started understanding Ezneas situation, while still believing she was in a dream.
“I can’t leave those that trust in me to suffer like that. It’s been four centuries since I had to grant my blessing towards a mortal… So having information of it, that’s something that only old chronicles have. And my blessing was made after the godslayer era, so I can be safe from Evan’s predicting its effects.” Ezneas said as she smiled widely.
“So, what sort of blessing is it, oh goddess?” Ivy respectfully asked, seeing a sort of benefit that could happen from this. ‘If it’s not a dream, that means I can be more helpful to sir Robin! And maybe I can even be of better help to others!’ Ivy thought, while she still believed in dreaming this.
“It’s a skill tree. Known as Gold Lord. Like the Dark Lord skill tree, granted to the dark lord after a ceremony, this skill showcases the might of the goddess of fortune. But I will be honest, it has a big limitation… It can’t be used alongside magic. As pouring too much water in a vase will cause an overflow, this would be the same. My abilities are spells that go beyond the limits of magic, so they are incompatible with magic as a balance made by the laws of the world, which ends up in the limitation I am telling you.” Ezneas replied, as she placed her right leg above her left leg.
“Oh. But do I have the talent to use magic?” Ivy asked once more, as she hoped to have any talent, which made Ezneas look pitifully at Ivy as the goddess felt bad for the young girl.
“Eeeeh… How do I explain this? Well, okay. I never thought I would take a page from Evan’s usual attitude, but this time it’s the best: You don’t have any talent for magic, since the slavers took out all your affinities and status.” Ezneas said as she looked at Ivy, clearly feeling bad for being so ruthlessly honest.
“Oh…” Ivy said, dejected by the honesty of Ezneas.
Ivy’s reaction made the goddess get up, and hug Ivy as she smiled widely. She had been trying to avoid hugging Ivy for a long while now, and the young girl’s cuteness made it impossible to hold back.
“I want to hug you until you pop, cute one! I can’t keep my poker face with such a cutie! Ah, this is just like when Kalarae showed me her child! Shame I don’t know where the little one is!” Ezneas said as she rubbed her cheek with Ivy’s left cheek, as Ivy looked amazed by how caring the goddess had turned out.
“O-Oh, just don’t end me… I don’t wanna die until I help sir Robin.” Ivy said, fearing for her life due to the strength of the hug. It was clearly too strong even for a strong individual, and so, it was almost as if Ivy was being crushed.
“Oh, okay! I need you as the Gold Lord, too. While you can’t use normal mana, which blocks your capability to use magic, you can use the changed mana to improve your status… With a cost. In money. It’s a transaction, so it requires money to do the proper trade alongside the special mana!” Ezneas explained, as she was doting on Ivy with her hug.
“Ah, I see. Could I acquire skill affinities too?” Ivy asked, as she tried to get used to being hugged.
“Costs more, but yes. That said, the best skills of the Gold Lord are body augmentation, status acquirement, and Gold Path. The last one is a perfect teleport. There are a few skills that help you make money too as a Gold Lord, so don’t think it’ll be impossible when you see the costs. That said, I am giving this to you so you can mess with Zerax’s plan while surviving. And you can’t get extra skill points, so you’ll need Golden Learning to learn beyond the limit of ten skill affinities. But I suppose you won’t need to worry about it since you hold no affinities.” Ezneas said, as she continued to dote on Ivy.
“I see. Well, I would like to agree to this deal.” Ivy said as she smiled cutely.
“Of course. Also, as a way to avoid you die… I will increase your attributes and stats to a decent amount. You know, fixing your malnutrition and giving you enough stats to be able to withstand the invasive operation. Oh, by the way, your eyes will probably pop once I am done. The raw mana that Pik detected in you was a death brand. Trying to take it off will kill you, so I will do my best to deactivate the death brand. But… It’s very possible that your eyes won’t withstand it. I apologize for it, but I know that Pik can give you godslayer level prosthetic eyes, which are almost as good as World Administrator.” Ezneas said as the golden area started to dim.
“Why is the area becoming dimmer?” Ivy asked, worried about the situation, while feeling a sharp pain in her spine and eyes.
“Well, guess what is happening. You are waking up, and the deal is being processed. Sorry for what you will feel right after. But it is just how things are right now. If you want to blame someone, blame Cinmos and Zerax for this. I am so sorry, my little creampuff!” Ezneas said as she started disappearing while letting Ivy go.
“E-EH!? But that doesn’t mean that… My eyes!” Ivy said as her sight started blurring.
“Oh, damn it. That didn’t work out as intended. Well, hopefully it won’t be lethal or bad for you, with the godslayer’s prosthetics and all. After all, myopia once you reached 17 years old would be too sadistic, right?” Ezneas said with a wry smile as she disappeared.
From there on out, Ivy could only hear a couple of explosions and a sharp pain coursing through her body. As she woke up, screaming due to the sharp pain, which did make Pik and Robin rush to her side, while Gio went to prepare a surgery room the group had in the right wing of the cave.
What Robin and Pik saw what a mess, the spine had been crushed and barely did its function while the eyes were another matter, as it happened as Ezneas said… But she had been kind enough to just seal them and teleport them away to keep Ivy safe from the explosion, as she had replaced them with a pair of glass eyes and left a letter on top of Ivy.
“We need to do the operation now, Robin!” Pik said as she grabbed Ivy, carefully, as she dashed towards the surgery room. The letter fell to the ground.
“O-Okay.” Robin said, stunned by the sudden situation that had happened. But then he saw the letter, and grabbed it. ‘Uh, a letter? Let’s read it.’ Robin thought, as he checked the perfumed letter that held the smell of a goldenrod.
The letter said:
‘To the godslayers reading this, don’t worry about using prosthetics on Ivy. I improved her body, as Ivy and I made a deal, but Cinmos and Zerax were using Ivy as one of the many sacrifices to help in causing a debacle of Edia’s temple of love and the Bank of Ezneas. Zerax wants to be the supreme god in this world, and Ivy will be one of those with a key and a chance to turn that around. Please, don’t give up on her, and help her become strong. P.D: Evan is another of those chosen ones, but he has a few leashes to prevent that he is targeted by the godslayers that want him dead. P.D.2: Don’t dare to corrupt my little creampuff, Robin! P.D.3: No need to give her skill affinities, she holds a skill that will make up for the lack of skill affinities.
Hoping to see you all in the Bank of Ezneas, someday.
Ezneas.’
Robin finished reading the letter, and took a deep breath as he felt relieved. For one side, Ivy wouldn’t suffer a sure death in the operation room with Pik. It was a gamble, but better than debating and doing nothing. For another side, he knew why Evan wasn’t going full psychotic as before.
So all in all, for him, all of it was good news. Maybe a tad bit too much for Ivy, but there was no other choice right now to help her out.
‘That said, probably Evan died on Earth like all of us. And like the rest of us, we preferred the chance of a good life rather than the absolute death. Only that, in his case, he got an annoying deal and a few leashes to keep him from going all pyromaniac on the gods. Also, Ezneas: What the hell!? I am not like the priests back on Earth! I only take photos of cute bad girls and boys, and make money out of it!’ Robin thought as he walked towards the surgery room, only to find it locked tight.
Robin saw the red hallway of the cave and a massive metallic black door with paint over it that said ‘Surgery Room’, and could only sit down on the ground as he waited and hoped that Ivy could come out of this situation. As he would never get away from Ivy, when she’s fighting for her own life.
