Evan had been working on the undead for around 10 minutes before he had them ready to go, as he didn’t want any mistake in how they were made. Usually he had his favorite commands saved up in the backup memory of the spell, and he still had said backup memory, which made him feel better if it wasn’t because that he still needed the master level skills of the necromancer to make his best creation.
But this time, he had to make a new command from scratch using one of the most basic undead creatures (the skeleton) to make a new kind of monster. And he had to make it with the measly ten skill points that were granted to that basic frame of a basic skeleton, but Evan recalled a combination of monster skills that allowed creatures to acquire more skills than they should have.
As Evan sought around the different options in the window made of mana that was made when he used the spell, he found the four special effects that would make his undead perfect for this situation, as he could only add four special effects on the basic skeleton frame.
The first of them was Replication, it allowed low sentience creatures to replicate copies of themselves at the cost of the replicated creatures being returned to level one and having to add a limit of replication (which increased depending on the quality of the frame and the quality of the corpse used). This was ideal for a master necromancer, as finding proper corpses was a hard task, and it was clearly time-consuming, even with the negatives as they could just bide their time.
The second special effect Evan sought was Level Link. This special effect linked a hive of different monsters, and ensured that they all would have the same level. Ideal to deal with the replication issue, as the replicated ones were considered as linked to the original once this effect was added.
The third special effect was Mind Link. This special effect seemed useless on low sentience monsters, as it linked the minds of the creatures, but that would be a foolish thought in the case of skeletons with the fourth effect he sought.
The fourth, and last, special effect was Skill Graveyard. This one was very special, as it allowed the user to choose several skill affinities of the corpse that was being used and directly grant master level skill to the undead. The limitation of this special effect was that it only worked on undead, a reason which made Evan work vastly with undead back on Dawn World when it came to making butlers.
Alongside said special effects, there was the species effect. In case of skeletons, they weren’t rather useful, but were of use. And since the skeletons wouldn’t be fighting, they proved rather useful.
As they were monsters created with dark mana, they were weaker to attacks that used to light element attacks but extremely resistant to dark element attacks.
Since they were skeletons, they were lightweight monsters that were faster than usual due to just being a skeletal frame and not carrying organs (which also made them brittle unless the necromancer worked on dealing with that), were weak to extreme temperatures (as being burned would turn them into ash), and could regenerate on their own if given time.
Once done, Evan looked marveled at the skeleton that was made even if it wasn’t wearing anything. Unlike the other skeleton he had made, as it was made from a customized monster blueprint, this one didn’t create armor or clothes. It was a boggling question for Evan, who didn’t understand why the customized skeletons didn’t get proper equipment and the basic ones did, as he understood the process in which mana tampered with the molecules of flesh, air, and whatever it could find to create appropriate equipment for the basic creatures.
But after this process of creation, he made a skeleton that replicated itself each 10 minutes until the limit of 10 skeletons and gave him skills like being a great chef, a great cleaner, and could make new buildings and improve the old ones if it had the materials.
With this creation, Evan had made the perfect minion to handle castles and fortifications in an efficient manner and even fortify areas few couldn’t. If it wasn’t due to the lack of strength inherited by the low level of the creature, it could have been ideal for Evan.
But Evan decided to save the blueprint, as the option to save said blueprint appeared in front of him in the form of another window made of mana. And with the blueprint saved, he could always tweak it for better undead that could have more strength in case he required to fortify a position once he acquired all his sealed skills.
Evan smiled at Lillian, but in a more warm way than what he had been doing, as he felt more in control after working on the undead. For Evan, working on creating new creatures felt as relaxing as reading a book, and it could be noticed by those that saw him working on them.
“Are you two fine?” Evan asked as he looked at the two girls.
“I know that they attacked first, but what you did was heartless.” Lillian said with a worried tone.
“Wrong. He was consumed by his own wrath.” Noche calmly said, as his voice boomed out of Evan’s body.
Noche appeared and was floating around like usual, while looking at Lillian with a serious face. Being capable of using telepathy for so long, had made Noche capable of reading people's mind. Unlike other classes that had it easier, he just talked with the subconscious of the people using telepathy. It took a lot of focus, but that allowed him to not have to use more skill points for mind reading, which made him have a decent way to obtain information.
“If you died, he would go on a rampage.” Noche said calmly.
“But I must agree that he was heartless.” Rose retorted with a worried tone.
“They went to hurt people, so they should be ready to be killed by those they attack” Noche said calmly..
Then a humanoid congregation of rocks, also known as a golem, entered into the orphanage through the orphanage’s left wall, and grabbed Lillian by her neck. Evan tried to hit it with a firebolt only to be knocked out with a strong and fast attack of the golem that surpassed him in STR and AGI. This made Evan remember one thing: Without his items, he should truly avoid close range to prevent fumbling like that, and that he needed to use his new leveling chance to improve his close range fighting.
Luckily, the strike allowed Evan to use his newest regeneration skill acquired from the slimes, as his mana moved across his body. The mana forcefully moved his broken bones, and put them together while sealing any cracks that there could be by stimulating the body to produce whatever was required to recover from the attack dealt by the golem.

Meanwhile, outside the orphanage, there was an elven man with long blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a black robe and holding a staff as he smiled at the sight of his golem rampaging inside the orphanage a few steps away. Vivienne was just behind him, with a frown, as she didn’t like that someone attacked her home while she was away doing chores at a bar as a cup bearer.
“You had to attack us with a level 45 Gaia's golem…” Vivienne said as she glared at the elf.
“Yes. After all, that boy is capable of handling anything less powerful than this. And mostly because he is clever. But why are you here, Princess? Oh, former princess now.” The elf said as he cackled, showcasing a sigil with a lion biting a sword.
“You and your golem will suffer from what you have done. Bazalark Linz!” Vivienne said coldly as her mana moved across her body, without ever coming out of the body as electricity came out of her body.
A giant thunder converged just above Vivienne's head and created a giant spear that was sent to the orphanage, where it pierced the roof of the orphanage and the golem's head, destroying both in one go.
“And for you... Ignifis.” Vivienne said as the elf charged at Vivienne, hoping to be able to surprise the young demon.
Vivienne touched the elf, and he was cremated in a matter of seconds while he was screaming. After 6 minutes, Vivienne had dispersed all the ashes and scattered them across the area. That way, not even a mentalist or a time gazer should be able to find out what happened to the user of the golem. Then she entered the orphanage and smiled at Evan, with a smirk on her face.
“Truly, the black flame devil is weakened. Still, there are others that can handle this kind of thing.” Vivienne said as she kept with her smirk.
“Thanks, Vivienne. Only took it as a weak golem, forgot the fact that I am way too weakened. And that I lack most of my equipment.” Evan said as he coughed a bit, and a piece of a rib came out of his mouth, which made him just grab it and turned his hand into slime to absorb it.
“I did it because I knew who was attacking. Lillian, I warned you about this.” Vivienne said as she scowled, while sounding clearly worried.
“Your family is sending them!?” Lillian asked with a surprised face.
“Of course. They want me dead. Have aunts like mine, and you don't need enemies.” Vivienne replied as she rolled her eyes while scowling.
“Well... Truly, I need to recover my power and become even stronger. I think that the golems here are boosted a lot.” Evan said as he groaned due to the pain he was feeling.
“That was a Gaia's golem. Resistant to fire and physical damage. An adept summoning.” Vivienne explained as she looked at Evan.
“And we called the summoners trash, and the earth mages just power levelers... Ugh. I should reevaluate that.” Evan said as he tried to recover from the attack impact.
“Well... This is not the world you used to be in. There are few differences, but summoners are a lot stronger than mages.” Lillian said, as she looked worriedly at Evan.
“More like different era, but yeah. I need to learn what everyone can do. But now I have a pair of ribs broken, or I feel like they are still broken... But do not worry... I can heal myself with regeneration.” Evan said, as he kept trying to recover.
Evan started concentrating his mana on his chest to recover, but it didn’t help much at the moment after recovering from the physical damage, as the pain he feels was more about the mental one from the recovering.
The rest looked at Evan in shock, hearing what he had said about a different era instead of world, and made them recall the stories they had heard about Evan.

Meanwhile, in the castle, there was a big commotion. The hero appeared with a big wound on his chest and Saida who was her first companion died in a fight against Sumeragi and two unknown men who are suspected to be part of a conspiracy to overthrow the king. King David was angry, so angry he literally killed with his bare hands two nobles and threw out from a third floor a guard. Caroline was around there when that happened and couldn't avoid finding it ironic. Sumeragi had killed his own niece when he regretted not protecting hard enough his sister. But she knew that Saida was a woman who only wanted the best for her boyfriend. Even she was ready to kill her family for helping him.
‘I expected this to happen, but the effects of her death are going to be big. David is angry, and I am in the middle of the vortex of anger. Still, Saida's death was quite ironic. Crushed while she tried to crush someone else. I will have time to laugh later.
Now... I have to heal the hero. He is in bad shape, but the kids that brought him to the castle gave him a potion. He will not die easily, but I have to restore his body and fast.
Furthermore, he is breathing but in an irregular way. Don't tell me he is waking up!?’ Caroline thought to herself, as she was healing Kanbe and keeping an eye on his status.
“Miss... Where... Where is Saida?” Kanbe asked groggily as he looked at Caroline.
‘Crap. I will have to tell Kanbe the truth.’ Caroline thought to herself, as she cursed her own luck.
“She is dead. Crushed by an iron ball.” Caroline said, as she kept healing Kanbe.
“And I am alive? Why? I messed up. If I just did what I had to do…” Kanbe said, feeling like he could have done more to save Saida.
“Sumeragi is too strong for you all. Now allow me to heal you. Before that wound causes you to lose blood.” Caroline said, as she kept healing Kanbe, while she frowned.
“You know him?” Kanbe asked, as he felt weaker since he was talking while still feeling the pain.
“I knew him. Now... I have my questions for him. Why he would kill his own niece?” Caroline said, as she feigned doubts, while she felt stressed due to the fact of the pressure she felt as she had to be the one healing the hero. ‘She was a bitchy traitor to the family, who wanted to help Katas to end with most of our family. She was a stain to the family, so good riddance.’ Caroline thought to herself.
“That's why you don't want to talk about your past?” Kanbe asked carefully.
“Imagine the scandal.” Caroline replied.
“I will get your answers. I will defeat him. And I will avenge Saida. She was a good girl, after all. I did not know her a lot and she always talked about her boyfriend. But for that, I know that she is a good girl, even with her own mistakes. No one would talk that much of a boyfriend if she was just an ambitious girl.” Kanbe said with a serious tone.
“Wait for your companions. Also, King David has a part of the fault. He is too scared of Evan.” Caroline said.
“He is weakened, but he is the black flame devil.” Kanbe said as he frowned.
“If he goes all out... David will lose a lot. Now stay quiet and let me heal you.” Caroline said as she checked Kanbe’s wounds.
“Thanks.” Kanbe said, merely resting and focusing on recovering.
‘I should start working on healing Kanbe and try to make it well.’ Caroline thought as she kept working on the healing action.
Caroline kept working for hours, since the wounds that the hero sustained were heavy and even if he had been kept alive… It was better to ensure that the hero survived, or so David had ordered, as he made sure to call the different hero companions candidates to summon them to Elstivia.
***
As Caroline was healing Kanbe, there was a feast in the high society of Elstivia. Mainly said, the typical meeting of nobles of all kinds seeing each other to make friendships and deals that could help all of Elstivia.
The place chosen to do this feast was the dancing hall of the castle of Elstivia, located in the basement of the castle, as it also acted as a bunker for the royalty and the pillars of the country in case of a war. A massive square space as big as the first half of the castle, with oak tables placed all across the room, covered in tablecloth made of white linen, which had silver plates with all sorts of food.
Azmosdei walked inside, as he was wearing a blue shirt, covered by a black waistcoat, black trousers, and black oxford shoes. It was quite the formal attire, but it was the bare minimum for when dealing with the nobles. Even if Azmosdei didn’t want to deal with this party at all, he had to attend, since he had been invited by other nobles.
But going to that party was a terrible one, as he saw a young lady with snow-white skin, voluptuous and motherly figure that made many men look at her, golden eyes, long black hair styled in a form of twin tails, and she had a scar on her forehead that looked like if she had received a graze from a gunshot on her head. This woman was wearing a red kimono with a pattern of white flowers, a pair of white socks, and wooden platform zouri heels.
Surrounding this woman, there were several dark elves who had short black hair and tanned skin that were wearing Japanese style armors made of iron plates which was a tub-shaped torso chest armor, armored gloves made from a cloth covered in iron plates that reached up to the forearm, large rectangular shoulder protections that connected with the armored gloves, and thigh guards tied around the waist made just like the armored gloves.
Azmosdei looked at the woman with a clear frown on his face, as the woman walked forward and saluted to Azmosdei with a palm hold fist salutation (putting her left palm as if it was holding her right fist, as her right hand clenched, while in front of her voluptuous chest).
“You know that doing this in front of me is insulting, Murimist.” Azmosdei said, with a rather angry tone in his voice, which made several nobles in the area look scared as the dark elves glared at Azmosdei.
“Yet that’s how we salute a godslayer, even if they are not of the Murim. It’s just a show of respect to your might, Azmosdei-dono.” The woman said as she looked at Azmosdei eyes.
“I thought the White Lotus sect would never follow the Justice Sect’s orders, even if they are part of the pavilions of Murim. I guess that Jia has been training and gorging on the benefits of beating an exhausted Evan back on Dawn World. I shouldn’t have come here, Moriarty was right. Coming here is just asking to be bothered by fools, and by Murimists.” Azmosdei said as he just rolled his eyes. ‘How is this shit allowed in Elstivia? Murimists are to stay in Krebs, in there they can’t go to noble parties unless invited by the emperor, with their damnable sects as they train in order to achieve a pinnacle of might.’ Azmosdeis thought as he looked at the woman, considering whether to summon his own weapon and attack the woman in front of him.
“The sect ended up being placed with the rest of sects, and so we found it most interesting to try out the new methods of the Justice Sect. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself-” The woman said as she looked nervously at Azmosdei.
“No need to introduce yourself, miss Wuxi. Or it’s Ziran? Never understood the backward method.” Azmosdei said as he scratched his forehead.
“Sir Azmosdei can call me Ziran.” Ziran said as she smiled.
“Either way, Ziran. Why are you here? In theory, only the pavilions of Murim should only come here for very urgent things.” Azmosdei said, as he squinted his eyes, questioning the woman.
“Well, sir. It’s a very urgent thing indeed. Princess Saida of Rivialt has died, so we are being commissioned to be here in order to keep the place secure.” Ziran said with a calm voice.
This made every single noble in the room that wasn’t Azmosdei to panic. Killing a prince or a princess could easily cause a war, no one in the room wanted to be involved in this kind of mess, and would usually mean that the culprit would have to be ready to lose their family alongside their lives. Since the price for this kind of act was so high, no one ever considered doing so unless they were a very talented assassin or someone truly desperate.
“Oh, she died. I can’t say that she didn’t deserve it. But does the fool that has killed her that Evan will want to murder them for this? It’s his granddaughter, the Murim Blitz should be a clear reminder for the Murimists of what happens when Evan gets angry. Only Jia could stop Evan after he raided all the other clans.” Azmosdei said as he scratched his chin.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“Yes, but he hasn’t appeared yet. Or it’s not been confirmed yet, by what I heard. That’s the reason the person who killed Guinevere did that assassination.” Ziran said as she tilted her head.
“So you are here to protect us? You can protect the others, but I can protect myself without worrying about anything at all.” Azmosdei said as he started moving towards the exit.
As Azmosdei moved towards the exit, the dark elves stopped Azmosdei and even summoned katanas to aim at him. This made Azmosdei scowl, and so his mana started coming naturally out of his body. The mana that Azmosdei was releasing was just the residual kind, the kind that didn’t appear as MP in the status screen, but it was heavy enough to make the four dark elves to bend the knee as they felt a mountain on their backs.
“You damn brats. You aren’t old enough to defend me. Nor have a level enough to even be considered even cannon fodder. You are level 30’s at best. Against a level 60 like me, you might as well stop considering the idea of defending me. In fact, this feels more like you want me to stay here for a reason I cannot understand. So Ziran, explain yourself… Before I show you the might of the one that holds the title of Sage.” Azmosdei said as he took a deep breath, his joints were in pain as his body had endured a lot during the years, but he simply didn’t attack at all.
“W-Well. We were asked by the elder to keep sir Azmosdei bound, as a mage shouldn’t be able to interfere with our duty.” Ziran explained, in fear of the might of Azmosdei.
“If you want to stop me, you might as well start using your practitioner arts. But the moment you do, I am burying all the nobles alongside you in this castle. Lowly ants should just stay dead, and foolish ones should suffer a fate worse than death. So I made a balance because there’s a mix of both.” Azmosdei said, with a threatening voice that made the entire area resound, as the nobles trembled in fear.
“Very well, leave. I know that if you drop the castle, you won’t stop there. You will outright kill the king and rule this place out of annoyance.” Ziran said as she closed her eyes.
Azmosdei moved outside the room, while calming down, and so the dark elves could get up. But they all were aware of the power of Azmosdei, they knew they couldn’t stop him, but there would be others that would try to stop him.
And they were right, as Azmosdei found several armored up dark elves with spears aiming at him once he walked out of the castle. This made him frown, and the earth trembled, while he looked at the dark elves who were in front of him.
“I will warn just once, not twice. Back down or die. If you don’t, you’ll understand what means to anger a mage.” Azmosdei said calmly.
“Sorry sir, but you have to follow us!” The dark elves said in unison, before the ground trembled once more.
As the ground trembled once more, spikes made of solid rock came from the ground and impaled each of the elves while avoiding their vitals as Azmosdei passed by the elves without much care in the world.
“Spell Variation: Earth Spikes. A master level spell variation. Hm. If you want to protect me from Evan, you might as well learn that you need equipment of the legendary rarity minimum to do so. And that your level should be a lot higher, mere level 30’s would die instantly at the hands of Evan back in Dawn World. Even just normal level 60’s died instantly when fighting him, don’t fucking think you are hot stuff.” Azmosdei said as he left the castle area calmly, while he looked at the orphanage that was near it. His eyes started to shine, and he smiled widely. ‘I should visit the talented kids that are there, but not with Evan inside the place. He would probably shoot me in the arm just for getting too handsy. Ugh, my joints hurt.’ Azmosdei thought as he kept moving.
And so, Azmosdei moved unimpeded as he walked to visit his son. In godslayer society, visiting the house of someone without an invitation or a warning was akin to a faux pas. Even more with disciples or the like, so going to the orphanage to get a disciple would mean that he was insulting Evan in the face, and that could only end up in one way: Evan deciding that Azmosdei had lived enough and going to burn his head for the insolence.
As the old merchant groaned due to his joints, he left the area, as he didn’t want to anger Evan in case he was just hiding his power.
