It's been almost three months since Raditz first crashed on this planet, and for the first time, he's getting bored.
After learning Abjis's speed technique, which he called the 'Kasokudo', Raditz was sent to go gather the members of Abjis's faction. Raditz was expecting this new mission to be exciting! After all, he'd surely have to clash with Abetox's minions to rescue his targets. Despite who he used to be before taking over this body, he is a Saiyan now. He loves fighting, especially fights he's sure to win! Having an excuse to brawl against giant lizards who want to kill him sounds like it would be fun!
It isn't.
As a matter of fact, it's really fucking boring.
Raditz's power level far outstrips any others on this planet. Unless he intentionally holds back, most of their attacks can't even harm him, and holding back... isn't exactly an option.
Most of the denizens of this planet seem to hate Raditz. To keep them from trying anything, Abjis had the bright idea of making Raditz go all out against every opponent he comes across in an attempt to intimidate anyone who watches him fight. This isn't a bad plan, and it's done a fantastic job of making everyone too afraid of Raditz to attack him. The downside to this is that every fight is over almost instantly.
His natural speed, which is already far faster than most of the people on this planet, has been augmented by Abjis's technique. Even if he doesn't actively use it, he is much faster than he should be for his power level, and because of this, none of his opponents can react to anything he does. While some small part of him usually enjoys beating weaker opponents... even that part has its limits. These last two months of training have been very worthwhile, and the results show during every fight.

'Discounting the Kaioken, I'm stronger than Kakarot was when he finished training with King Kai...' Raditz thinks to himself in amazement.
'With this strength, killing Abetox will be simple. My ship should arrive soon after, and then I can be on my way to Earth. After that--'
Raditz is shaken out of his thoughts by the sounds of combat. With a sigh, he launches himself forward, burning stamina to activate his Kasokudo technique. Arriving at the fight almost instantly, he begins to get to work...
Abetox mutters a curse to himself, glaring at the messenger trembling before him.
"The hell do you mean they're missing?! That's the 10th squad today! I've been monitoring Abjis myself, there's no way that he did this!" Abetox shouts at the shorter reptile kneeling in front of him.
"M-my lord... perhaps it was that monster our spies told us about...?" the messenger stammers.
Abetox scoffs. "From what I've heard, this 'monster' is a Saiyan. They don't do anything unless it can bring them sadistic amusement or profit. If they're still on this planet, then they'd either be helping us or they'd also be wiping out Abjis's troops. If they were doing that, then he'd make a move against them. So either Abjis has trained up a new prodigy or... or... THAT FUCKING MORON!" Abetox suddenly bellows as he comes to a realization.
"My lord?!" Abetox's minion says.
"I can't believe... I am going to murder that wrinkly old bastard!" he growls.
The messenger looks at the hulking form of Abetox in confusion.
"That idiot! He taught our techniques to an outsider! That must be how he convinced the Saiyan to help him! Dammit!" Abetox says in despair. "If that Saiyan spreads Abjis's techniques to King Cold's Empire... dammit! Gather the army, we have to kill the Saiyan before he gets the chance to leave."
Raditz's mission ends soon enough. He didn't even have to save half of the platoons he came across, as Abetox's troops seem to be falling back.
After leading the last group of soldiers to Abjis's headquarters, he notices that the place is... strangely barren. Considering that Raditz has spent the last few hours bringing people here, that is very concerning. After a few seconds of searching, he locks onto Abjis's Ki signature, and rushes to catch up with the old man.
He finds his mentor standing alone in an abandoned tunnel, seemingly lost in thought. He is quickly shaken out of these thoughts when Raditz claps him on the back.
"Hey Old Man, where is everyone?"
Abjis glares at his pupil for a few seconds, before sighing softly. "Abetox has gathered his army, so we're also preparing. From what we've heard, he's aiming for you specifically."
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"Huh?" Raditz says, confused. "Why me? Aren't you literally the leader of the only group standing in the way of their goals? Shouldn't they be going after you?"
"Oh, they'll be after me too, don't get me wrong, but you're the main priority. You see, our people practice several techniques that would make us very valuable as soldiers if we were to contact Frieza. Most of these are exclusive to us as a species, but our two most powerful techniques can be practiced by anyone who learns them. Abetox believes that if outsiders were to learn these techniques, then the value we'd have would plummet. He must've guessed that I taught you my techniques, and is worried that you'd spread them around after you leave the planet." Abjis says.
"Two most powerful? You only taught me the Kasokudo technique and how to use Telepathy. What makes those two so special?" Raditz questions.
Abjis stares at Raditz for several seconds, disappointment evident on his face. "First of all, the Telepathy technique isn't one of our most powerful. Second of all, the Kasokudo allows you to fight against opponents several times stronger than you. It can literally multiply your speed by a dozen times if you've completely mastered it. That is not common in techniques."
"So you only taught me one of your most powerful techniques? Why didn't you teach me both?"
"Besides the fact that the techniques are sacred to our people and we have never shared one with an outsider?" Abjis snarks.
"Well... yeah."
"Using the Kasokudo changes your body in a fundamental way. It streamlines your body for speed, not power. Abetox practices the opposite technique, which increases power and durability. If you tried to use his technique, you'd die almost instantly. Knowing you, you'd try it anyways. That's why I didn't teach you."
"That's... fair, I suppose. What's the plan then? We gang up on Abetox, then wipe his army?" Raditz questions.
"Not exactly." Abjis begins. "Abetox has always claimed to be stronger than me. In fact, this is the main reason he's been able to convince so many of our people to follow him--"
"Wait, is he telling the truth? Is he stronger than you?"
"Oh, definitely. His technique directly counters mine. He'd kick my ass if we fought to the death. But if you--"
"What the hell?! His technique is better?! Why didn't you teach me his technique?!" Raditz suddenly interrupts.
"Shut up and listen, then maybe you'll find out! As I was saying... if you were to fight him, you would demolish him. I can't beat him because even my strongest attacks can't get through his scales, the difference in power is too much when he uses his technique. Eventually, my stamina would run out and he'd finally catch me. But you? You're already stronger than him. He could delay the inevitable if he tried his hardest, but your attacks would still damage him."
"So you want me to fight him?"
"Yes, but not immediately. See, even though he would beat me if we fight to the death, he still can't react to my attacks. They won't hurt him, but they will push him around. From a spectator's point of view, it'd look like I was destroying him. So here's my plan..."
Abetox watches silently as Abjis's legions of warriors line up before his army.
For the first time in memory, he feels anxious. If they can't kill the Saiyan here, then everything will be for nothing. Their people will be almost useless to King Cold. They might be able to join the rank and file soldiers, but they can throw out any and all dreams of becoming elites. If the old man wasn't such a damn fool, then their people would be so much better off. They could gain a new planet, they could gain new technology! But no. Abjis is stubborn. He thinks it would be "wrong" to fight for the strongest being in the Universe.
Abetox shakes his head. 'It doesn't matter now. For better or for worse... it'll all change after this.'
Two figures stand at the head of Abjis's troops. As Abetox spots these two, he lets loose an earthshaking roar.
"CHARGE"!
Raditz bolts towards the army of reptiles charging towards him, burning through his stamina to instantly quadruple his speed. As his fist impacts the first opponent, a grin spreads across his face.
'Yeah... this might be fun.'
Abjis stares into the eyes of the burly reptile standing before him. While the battle unfurls around them, the area around the two is a sea of calm.
"Been a while since we've done this, hasn't it?" Abjis states casually.
"It has." Abetox agrees, before launching a wave of Ki at the older reptile.
To nobody's surprise, Abjis easily avoids the attack, quickly closing the distance. He slashes at his opponent's eyes, scowling slightly when it does nothing. Dodging a grapple from the larger reptilian, the old lizard lands a flurry of lightning-fast kicks to the back of his enemy's leg. Abetox drops to to one knee for but a moment, but it's enough for Abjis to hammer a powerful knee into his enemy's skull. Abetox falls backwards, before suddenly throwing a backhand in front of him, catching Abjis when he tried to capitalize on Abetox's moment of weakness.
The older reptile flies backwards, unmoving. After several seconds, he crashes into the ground, creating a brand new crater in the surface of the planet. The battle seems to grind to a halt, each army looking at the still form of Abjis in stunned silence...
Until Abjis leaps to his feet, looking uninjured. "Not bad, I actually felt that one!" he says, trying not to let his opponent know how much that hurt.
Cracking his neck, he disappears from his position, instantly appearing behind Abetox.
The two go back and forth for almost a minute. Abetox not landing another hit, and Abjis not being able to land anything that looks particularly impressive to the spectators. This quickly changes once he sweeps the large lizard-man's feet out from under him, before kicking his still falling body away. A wave of Ki soars out of his outstretched palms, engulfing the body of his rival.
Abetox halts his momentum midair, completely undamaged as he launches himself back at his enemy. Ignoring the dizziness he feels, Abjis ducks and weaves around the clawed strikes of his opponent, giving up on offense completely.
"On the defensive already, Abjis? I knew your stamina begins to fail you as you age, but this is ridiculous." Abetox remarks before slamming a fist into the ground, sending a shockwave crashing into the area around him.
"Raditz! I'm getting a little low on energy! Get your ass over here!" the old reptile shouts inside the Saiyan's mind.
Yet again, Abjis moves impossibly fast, somehow avoiding the shockwave as soon as it reaches him. A tap on the back of his neck instantly alerts Abetox to Abjis's new position. Turning around with a sigh, he stares at his bored looking enemy.
"Really, old man? You can't even take this one fight seriously?" he says, throwing a combination of half-hearted attacks at the blurred figure.
"Why would I take it seriously? You're no threat to me. I shouldn't even be the one fighting you. It's a waste of my time..." Abjis says with a yawn.
"You're trying this trick again? It didn't exactly end well for you last time, gramps." Abetox remarks, looking equally as bored as Abjis as he begins to weave shockwaves made of Ki into his attacks.
"What can I say? I got a new pupil recently. I think he'll do better than the last one." Abjis replies, easily avoiding everything his opponent sends towards him.
"The Saiyan? You're going to let an outsider decide the fate of our planet?" Abetox growls.
"You know it." he says with a grin.
Focusing all of his power, Abjis launches himself at his enemy, landing a kick that sends Abetox flying backwards, creating yet another crater on impact.
He focuses his Ki, amplifying his voice until it travels across the entire battlefield.
"I had thought that you'd be stronger than this, Abetox. We both know that you can't defeat me. Why not call it quits now and surrender?"
Abetox, for his part, rolls his eyes in response.
"Of course, I should've know that you'd be too foolish to know when you should quit..." Abjis says dramatically. "Now, I could just start trying and end this, but this fight has been far too boring. I think we're due some entertainment..."
"You aren't good enough to face me, Abetox, so how about you face my newest pupil?" he says with a toothy grin as a tall man with long, black hair suddenly appears beside him, moving faster than anyone could see.
