Floating far, far away from Earth is a small, yellow, relatively unknown planet. As a matter of fact, this planet was one of the few in the Galaxy that Frieza hadn't conquered due to how out of the way it is. On this planet, a large, round-headed blue alien smiles down at Goku, watching the Saiyan disappear and reappear in different locations.
"I think... I think I've gotten the hang of this!" Goku says excitedly.
"Yes... I'd say that you've all but mastered the Instant Transmission technique." the Yardratian, Pybara, says. "Now that you've finished learning the basics, we should move on to more complex techniques. How about... gigantification?"
"Actually... I think I'm going to head back to Earth now. The other techniques your people have are gigantification, healing, cloning and Forced Spirit Fission, right?"
Pybara nods his head silently.
"None of those techniques are... well, they don't really appeal to me, you know?" the Saiyan says, rubbing the back of his head in slight embarrassment. "I already have a cloning technique of my own, but I don't feel like those other three would work for me."
"That's fine, Goku. Nobody can learn every technique out there, we all have our preferences, but are you sure you don't want to stay and train your Ki control? That's what Vegeta has been doing, and I think you could really benefit from it."
"No thanks, I think it'd be best if I stay on Earth for a while. King Kai said that my wife is getting annoyed by how long I've been away from home."
"I see... well, if you ever change your mind, you can use Instant Transmission to come back immediately. Are you taking Piccolo and Vegeta with you?" Pybara asks.
"Nah, I don't want to interrupt their training. I'll have King Kai tell me when they want to come back to Earth."
"Alright Goku, I'll see you then! Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!" Goku says, putting the middle finger and the index finger of his left hand on his forehead. "Thanks for all the help!"
The Saiyan quickly vanishes into the air...
As soon as he teleports, Goku falls to his knees, pushed down by an immense weight. After half a second of surprise, he pushes himself off of the floor, standing up after some effort. Raising an eyebrow, he looks around, instantly spotting the man who he teleported to...
Raditz stands in the middle of the room with his back turned towards Goku. Sweat drips off of his body as he continuously fires Ki blasts, sending them bouncing around the room. Every time a blast gets close to him, he moves just enough to dodge the attack, looking like a blur to Goku's eyes. When the younger Saiyan arrives, hundreds of Ki blasts are bouncing off the walls, causing the gravity chamber to glow with purple light.
"Hey Raditz!" Goku shouts, creating a small shield of Ki to block any blasts that'll hit him.
Raditz looks over his shoulder, seemingly startled by the shorter man. While he's distracted, dozens upon dozens of Ki blasts pelt him, kicking up a cloud of smoke. Goku's eyes widen slightly in worry...
...but when the smoke clears, Raditz is left standing there, unharmed. With a quick flick of his wrist, he halts the movements of every remaining ball of Ki, quickly dissipating them into thin air.
"Kakarot?! You've finished your training already?!" he says, sounding shocked.
"Yep! I just finished a few minutes ago."
Raditz slowly walks towards the center of the room as his brother speaks, turning off the Gravity Chamber's increased gravity.
"Woah!" the younger Saiyan exclaims as the weight pressing down on him suddenly disappears. "Training in this must be one heck of a workout! What do you have it set to?"
"300 times this planet's gravity." he answers with a smug tone. "It's a fantastic workout at first, but it doesn't take long to get used to it."
"Get used to it? Does that mean that you do this a lot?"
"Of course. I'm here for a minimum of 13 hours a day, although I usually train for even longer." Raditz lies. "Bulma can't create a machine that increases gravity further yet, so I can't ramp up the intensity too much. I have to spend more time here to compensate."
"Awesome! You must've gotten way stronger since we've last seen each other!"
"The material the Earthlings use aren't durable enough to handle a fraction of the power I can put into my blasts." the one-armed Saiyan explains. "My Ki blasts can't move too fast or contain too much power without destroying the training room, so it isn't quite as good of a workout as you'd think. This training mainly improves my reaction time, Ki control, and awareness of what's around me. Without the gravity machine, I'd be far too fast to even get a workout from dodging all of those."
"Still, with how long you've spent in here, you must've improved a ton! I'm sure Vegeta will be thrilled! He's been training to beat you, but I can tell that he doesn't want an easy fight." Goku says excitedly. "I can't wait to watch you two spar!"
"You'll have to wait a bit longer, Kakarot. I'll still need a few more months before I can regrow my arm."
"I'm fine with waiting, but until then, do you mind if I tag along for your training from now on? 13 hours a day... I'm sure we can get even stronger if we work together!"
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Sweat drips down Raditz's forehead when the shorter man says this. "Ah... well..."
Goku continues to stare at his older brother with a large, expectant smile.
"I'll have to refuse, Kakarot." Raditz says, grinning at the idea that just popped into his head.
"What?! Why not?!" the martial artist asks in disappointment.
"I spend most of my time in here, and Chi Chi would probably kill me if she found out that you were training with me for most of the day instead of spending time with her and Gohan."
"Ah man... I didn't even think about that."
"...Of course you didn't..." he sighs. "Well... if you truly want to train with me, then maybe there's something we could do without angering your wife..."
"Really?! What do you have in mind?!" Goku asks, instantly perking up.
"The problem with you training with me is that I spend too much time training. I... I suppose I could cut down on the gravity training..." Raditz says, intentionally sounding hesitant. "Maybe I'll cut it down to... 2 or 3 hours per day? I'll focus on less physical training instead."
"That little?! Are you sure? I'd hate to mess with your training."
"It's fine, Kakarot. I'll just have to put more time into spiritual training."
"Well... ok then! Let's get started!"
"...Aren't you forgetting something?" Raditz asks pointedly.
"Forgetting something?" Goku asks.
"...Your wife and son that you haven't seen for over half a year?"
"Oh, right! I guess I just got a little excited to train with you. Spending 13 hours a day under 300x Earth's gravity... I can't imagine how much you've improved! I'll just have to wait until tomorrow then... see ya!"
Goku flies out of the room, leaving Raditz alone with his thoughts...
A large grin blooms upon the Saiyan's face as he watches his younger brother leave. He punches the air in excitement, before a familiar voice appears in his head.
"I can't believe that worked. How did you even know that he was finished with his training?!" King Kai says, exasperated.
"Kakarot has been relying on his Ki sensing abilities to sense if someone is lying to him. With my level of Ki control, I doubt he'd even be able to sense my Ki if I didn't want him to." Raditz points out smugly. "As for how I knew that he was finished... it was just a hunch."
"That... huh. I guess that makes sense. Still... you've spent the last half a year lazing around. It's a miracle that you're better at controlling Ki than Goku."
"I've spent the majority of my time flying around this planet, talking to you with telepathy, and creating different materials with my Ki. Hell, I'm pretty sure I've spent longer in the air than I've spent on the ground since we got back from Namek. I've had to learn to manage my Ki better if I wanted to stay airborne."
"Why are you so obsessed with flying anyways?" the Kai asks curiously. "From what I know about Saiyans, you should have known how to fly since you were young. It's fun, sure, but it can't be that fun... can it?"
"I just enjoy it. It feels... freeing. Peaceful. I can easily protect myself from the weather with my Ki, and with how much Ki I have, combined with how much my Ki regenerates per second, I can be in the air indefinitely. It's nice." the Saiyan replies, walking out of the Gravity Chamber. "Anyways, get out of my head. I'm busy thinking about something important, and I don't want your voice distracting me."
"Fine... I guess I'll go see how Vegeta and Piccolo are doing. I'll talk to you later, Raditz."
"..."
As soon as the Kai stops talking, Raditz immediately orders the System to show him his quests, along with the details of his new skill. What he sees causes his smile to grow even larger.
Quest Complete!
You have gained: Access to System Technique: Analyze.
System Techniques are, as the name might suggest, techniques exclusive to those who have the System. They don't use Ki, nor do they level up in the same way as other techniques. Your newest System Technique, Analyze, will allow you to view an opponent's information like you would view your own character sheet. The information you gain depends on the level of trust between the two of you, your strength when compared to them, and the level of the Analyze skill. If there is an overwhelmingly large gap in power between the two of you, you will gain next to no information (if the gap is in their favor) or access to all of their information, along with their current thoughts and feelings (if the gap is in your favor).
Two smaller screens pop up next to the screen explaining the System technique, each detailing one of Raditz's active quests.
Quest: Cooler's revenge!
Quest details: Frieza's older brother, Cooler, and his father, King Cold, will eventually learn of Frieza's demise. Both he and his father will come to Earth to seek revenge, yet none of Earth's warriors can hope to kill both of them. Kill Cooler before he arrives on Earth!

'Interesting... this Analyze skill seems pretty busted. Even if I can get a rough idea of an opponent's strength and techniques, that could really make the difference in a life of death struggle. What about the other System Technique? The Inventory one?'
The Inventory technique allows the User to store items inside a pocket dimension. While inside this pocket dimension, time will no longer act on these items. At higher levels, the User will be able to use the technique on organic materials, Ki attacks, and on yourself. Anyone inside the pocket dimension won't require sustenance, nor will they be able to die. The User can remove anything inside the pocket dimension at anytime. The size of the pocket dimension depends on the level of the technique.
Caution: This technique is not instantaneous. The activation time depends on the level of the technique and, if used on an enemy, the strength of the enemy when compared to the User.
'These System Techniques are... kind of cliché.' Raditz thinks to himself, staring at the blue screen in front of his eyes. 'I swear, half the web novels I read had the protagonist learn skills like these... but I'm definitely not complaining! Those skills were always really fucking overpowered, and this is no exception!'
'Who needs to spend time training when I can just catch any opponent with my Inventory technique?! I can see it now! I'll learn Instant Transmission, catch an enemy, then release them on the next enemy like a Pokemon! If I time it right, I could use them as a meat shield, and ensure that they get hit by an attack! That'll definitely make them angry enough to fight the new enemy. Then, I can Instant Transmission to King Kai's place and watch those two duke it out. When they're exhausted, I can come back and capture them both! Rinse and repeat! As long as I'm careful about which enemies I use it on, along with when I use it during the fight, then I won't be deviating too far from the proper DBZ story, so the System won't stop me! Anyways, System, you mentioned that System Techniques don't level up in the same way as other techniques. How do I level them?'
The level of all System Techniques will increase as the User's strength increases.
