“This doesn’t make sense, Jason!” Anna said while looking all around the ruined city. “What happened in Lunaria? There is no Mana anywhere on this planet. Wait, I can feel some Magical Energy off in the distance somewhere in the ocean. Maybe some plants and trees. The moons also seem to have life, it feels like some monsters.”
“I wondered what happened. Did something or someone do this?” Jason pondered. “Have you seen something like this before, Anna?”
“I have never seen anything like this. But nothing else will ever be able to be born here.” Anna responded. “Jason, as Historians it is our duty to record the history of the worlds, so let’s find out what happened to this world. Let’s proceed with caution towards the ocean.”
“Yeah, I don’t have a good feeling about this.” Jason responded. “Just what happened here?”
As Anna and Jason walked through the ruined city, they could see traces of the society that once stood there. They passed the statue of a man who appeared to be a hero of Lunaria. Despite all the destruction, the statue stood as if nothing had happened. Little by little they made their way towards the ocean. Eventually they entered what appeared to once be a military base by the port. Off in the distance near the ocean Anna spotted a man.
“How?” Anna said. Her expression was full of dread. “I can’t detect any Magi Power from him. Let’s hide quickly.”
“Does everyone have Magical Energy?” Jason asked as he and Anna hid behind a wall.
“Yes. All life forms in the Universe should have some sort of Magic Power no matter how small it is.” Anna replied. “Unless he is a Wild Card. My instincts are telling me to run away from him. I believe he destroyed this world.”
Before they could make another move, the man appeared right in front of them. Even though they could not sense any Magic Power from him, Anna and Jason were shaking just from his presence alone.
“Where did you two come from?” The man’s voice struck fear into Anna and Jason. His puffy eyes were devoid of any emotion. “There should not be anyone left in this world. But you two seem powerful. Let me see if you are stronger than those TWO!!”
“Jason, I’ll use my buff and healing magic. Get ready to engage in battle!” Anna shouted. “Be careful! We don’t know how powerful he is!”
“Got it!” Jason said as he began to observe the man.
The man smiled and quickly rushed towards Jason. Jason dodged the man’s punch. The punch hit the wall. In an instant the whole wall crumbled. Jason quickly increased the distance between him and the man. As he increased the distance, Jason could feel Anna’s buffs taking effect, but he was certain not even the buffs would help him fight the man on equal terms.

“ANNA PREPARE A PORTAL!!!! I WILL HOLD HIM BACK!! WE CAN’T TAKE HIM!” Jason shouted as he summoned a sword and a shield. He quickly rushed towards the man. Anna’s hands began to glow and she began to concentrate. The man smirked and a bunch of fireballs appeared around him. The fireballs targeted Jason. Jason began to slash at the fireballs, destroying them, yet a couple of them managed to hit him. He decided to throw his shield and sword at the man. The man parried the shield and sword, not noticing Jason's follow up attack. A couple of milliseconds later a Fireball hit the man. Anna quickly finished casting her Magic. A portal appeared in front of her. The man approached Jason and began to exchange blows with him. Anna casted her Ice Magic and attacked the man with an Ice Spear. The man was caught by surprise. Anna followed up with a Water Serpent that sent the man crashing into the wall. Jason and Anna took the opportunity to enter the portal. Once they exited the portal, Anna took Jason’s hand, took out a crystal, broke it, and both of them banished from the area. As the man got up, he stood there looking at the portal.
“That was fun! They were stronger than anyone else I have seen.” The man smiled. “I hope I can find some of her notes around here. I bet there are strong opponents in other worlds. Just like them I’ll escape this world.” The man looked at the ocean. “Yuri, I have finally found what I want to do as well as what I am. That woman mentioned that I am a Wild Card. Yuri, please take care of those two, they deserve to rest in peace. Maybe, I’ll go to the moons before leaving Lunaria. Yeah I have to visit Muna, where it all began.”
Anna and Jason found themselves on a planet with two moons in a forest. They sat down under a tree. Little by little their hearts began to calm. Just the mere memory of the man filled them with fear.
“Who knew Wild cards could be this dangerous?” Anna said. “Jason, we must stay away from Wild Cards unless it’s necessary to engage with them. We don’t know how dangerous they can be until we engage in battle.”
“I agree. That man was too powerful, it just felt wrong fighting someone who I can’t measure their Magic Power.” Jason said. “But exactly what are Wild Cards? You and Raul are secretive about them.”
“Wild Cards are individuals who exist outside the Universe System, meaning they have no access to Magical Energy nor Magical Power. Every life form in the Universe has Mana, so Wild Cards can use Mana as well, and they can also make their own Magic System as long as they put in the work. It seems that man consumes the Mana in the environment to become more powerful. That is a dangerous Magic System he has developed. But who knows when we’ll see him again. The Universe is so vast we can’t lock into someone much less someone with no Magical Power.”
“His power is so terrifying.” Jason responded. “I hope to never run into him again.”
“We have to report this to Raul and the other Historians.” Anna said. “Although we have always left the beings of their Universe Cycle alone, we might have to act on this one. This man is too dangerous to be left alone.”
“I don’t think Ixchel will approve of doing anything to him. From what I have seen she is more hands off and lets the Universe Cycle run its course.” Jason said.
“That’s how Ixchel is, but I think that man should be eliminated. He poses a danger to everything. And if my guess about his growth is correct, there is no telling how powerful he can become and if he has any limits.” Anna said.
“Aren’t we Historians, the ones responsible for recording history. I don't think it would be right for us to interfere like that. We shouldn’t overstep the boundaries of our role.” Jason said.
“You take your duties and responsibilities so seriously, Jason. You know that’s why I …” Anna smiled. “Never mind. Let’s report this to Raul and Ixchel. They will be the ones to decide what to do.”
