“NEXT UP LEON AND ELLIE!!” Lola said. “PLEASE COME OUT INTO THE ARENA!!”
“I’ll see you in a bit, Selene!” Leon said. “I hope to go up against Hinako in the semi-finals.”
“I can feel the big gap between you and Ellie and between Hinako and Robert!” Selene said. “Semi-finals will be me versus Oswald and you versus Hinako.”
“And it doesn’t matter who my opponent is in the finals.” Leon said. “I’ll be the one to win!”
“Then I guess your trump card is that.” Selene said. “Save it until the final match so everyone will get more excited.”
Leon just smiled at Selene and exited the waiting room, as he exited the room he looked at Oswald wondering if he could defeat Selene. Leon couldn't wait to see that match and witness Oswald’s true strength. He hoped Oswald would win and go against him in the finals. Ellie was walking in front of him. She was sweating as they walked towards the arena. After entering the arena Leon positioned himself on the east side and Ellie positioned herself on the west side. Ellie was avoiding eye contact with Leon and she was biting her nails.
“I’ll … do … my best!” Ellie said as she pointed at Leon.
“Let’s see how well the Romani Family has trained you!” Leon said.
“Why did I have to go against the genius of the Deus Family?” Ellie complained.
“LET’S SEE WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE LEON GIVES US AGAINST ELLIE!” Lola said. “IT’S THE FIGHT OF TWO CANDIDATES FOR THE NEXT HEAD POSITION OF THEIR FAMILIES. IT’S DEUS VERSUS ROMANI!!! FOLKS LET’S ENJOY THIS MATCH!! AND START!!!”
“I’ll let you charge an attack and I won’t do anything.” Leon said. “I’ll just wait and respond to it once the attack is heading my direction!”
“Are you sure about that?” Ellie asked. “I might be weaker than you, but if I charge my attack, then the Magic Power of the attack will be greater than my own by about 75 percent.”
“Go ahead or I’ll start attacking.” Leon responded.
“Then … I won’t hold back!!” Ellie said with a determined expression. She started to charge Water Magic on her right hand and Fire Magic on her left hand.
“IT APPEARS LEON IS LETTING ELLIE CHARGE UP AN ATTACK!!” Lola commented. “THE ATTACK’S MAGIC POWER SEEMS TO BE INCREASING AT A STEADY PACE! LET’S KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON LEON TO SEE HOW HE PLANS TO DEAL WITH THE ATTACK!!”
Ellie’s attack grew to a Magic Power that even surprised Leon, but his face had an expression of pure joy. Ellie was sweating and unable to keep charging the attack any longer she decided it was time to unleash her attack.
“SCALDING VAPOR!!” Ellie yelled as she aimed both of her palms towards Leon. The Water Magic and Fire Magic combined and made a vapor well above boiling temperature. The vapor quickly made its way towards Leon.
When the Scalding Vapor was ten feet away from Leon, he could feel the high temperature from it. He started sweating and he knew he would not come out of this attack unscathed. Leon used Ice Magic to make an Ice Shield. He used the Ice Shield to block the attack, but as soon as the attack reached the Ice Shield, it began to melt. Leon started to pour more Magical Energy into the Ice Shield in order to keep it from completely melting away. He could feel his body getting hotter. After a minute the attack stopped and Leon had some burn marks on his hands and he was sweating as if he had run for miles. Ellie was also tired from the toll of using such a powerful attack.
“THAT WAS AMAZING!!” Lola was enthusiastic. “ELLIE’S ATTACK WAS FANTASTIC, YET LEON FOUND A WAY TO COME OUT OF IT MOSTLY UNSCATHED!! IT LOOKS LIKE LEON JUST RAN A MARATHON!!”
“I wanted to let you at least attack once, Ellie!” Leon said. “My turn and time to finish the match!”
“I’m not that weak that you can defeat me easily!” Ellie gulped as she observed Leon. A few moments later Ellie lost her footing and fell. Once on the floor Ellie could see that she was now on ice.
“LEON JUST TURNED THE AREA ELLIE WAS STANDING ON INTO ICE!!” Lola commented. “HOW CAN ELLIE DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION!”
Ellie tried desperately to get up. But she kept slipping because of the ice. A few seconds later Ellie saw that the ice now extended all the way to the wall, then she felt a strong gust of wind push her directly into the wall. Ellie crashed into the wall head on.

“LEON IS USING THE TERRAIN CHANGES HE MADE TO HIS ADVANTAGE.” Lola said. “LEON IS DOMINATING THE FIGHT!”
“DAMN IT!!” Ellie screamed. “THAT HURT LIKE HELL!!”
“It’s over!” Leon said as he launched a Fireball towards Ellie and propelled it with Wind Magic.
"AAAAAEEEEEEEEEIIIIEEEIEIEIEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!" Ellie screamed as soon as the Fireball hit her. Her bracelet reached its limit and broke.
“AND THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS!! LEON WINS!!” Lola announced. “THAT WAS A GREAT DISPLAY OF THEIR ABILITIES!!”
“That was a fun match!” Leon said. “Keep training, you have lots of potential!”
“Thanks!” Ellie said as she got up. “As a Romani, I must become stronger! And now I better understand how I fall short!”
The Healers came into the arena and healed bothe Leon and Ellie. After being healed, Leon and Ellie entered the waiting room.
“NOW HINAKO AND ROBERT PLEASE STEP INTO THE ARENA!” Lola said.
Leon observed Hinako as she exited the waiting room. He was curious as to how she fought and wondered if she would be his opponent for the semi-finals. Leon knew Robert was about the level of Ellie, but he knew nothing about the power of Hinako.
Hinako positioned herself on the west side of the arena, while Robert positioned himself on the east side. Hinako had a determined expression and Robert had an expression of boredom.
“I’ll just have to beat you to be able to face Leon.” Robert said with a confident tone. “Even if you’re a girl I won’t go easy on you. This match will be over in no time.”
“...” Hinako stared at Robert with an expression of annoyance.
“FOLKS, ROBERT SEEMS TO BE CONFIDENT IN HIMSELF.” Lola said. “BUT LET’S SEE HOW WELL HE PERFORMS AGAINST HINAKO!! THE DAUGHTER OF THE PRESIDENT OF OUR FUTURE JAPANSE BRANCH VERSUS THE NEXT HEAD OF THE IGNIS FAMILY!! START!!”
Hinako bowed to Robert and took a fighting stance, while Robert rushed towards her. Robert tried to kick Hinako on the chest with his right leg, but she caught his leg with both hands. Hinako gathered Magical Energy on her left foot. In a few milliseconds her left foot was covered in flames and she kicked Robert on the stomach.
“FUCK!” Robert yelled.
“ROBERT’S ATTACK WAS EASILY COUNTERED BY HINAKO.” Lola commented, “HINAKO IS MORE SKILLED THAN ROBERT EXPECTED. HINAKO IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION QUITE QUICKLY>
Hinako followed by bringing down her left foot and kicking Robert on his left leg. Robert lost balance and fell to the ground. Hinako, still holding on to his right leg, applied a Strength Buff to herself and lifted Robert above her head. She then threw Robert to the wall. Robert hit the wall and a loud thud was heard.
“HINAKO IS BRUTAL!” Lola commented. “SHE JUST WANTS TO GET THE FIGHT OVER WITH!! NO MESSING AROUND!!”
“SHIT!” Robert yelled as he tried to get up. “YOU’RE BETTER THAN I THOUGHT!”
“I made it all the way here.” Hinako stated as she glared at Robert as he got up. “Do you think I was just lucky? If I am here, that means I have excellent fighting skills.”
“Then, you leave me no choice.” Robert said as he charged up Magical Energy on both of his hands. “Victory will be mine.”
“Then, I’ll just play along with you.” Hinako said, also charging up Magical Energy on her hands.
“WE ARE ABOUT TO SEE TWO MAGIC ATTACKS COLLIDE!!” Lola said. “WE’LL SEE WHO IS THE SUPERIOR MAGE!!”
As Hinako and Robert charged their attacks the audience could feel the immense Magical Power coming from the attacks. After twenty seconds, it looked like both of them were done charging up.
“FIRE TORNADO!!!” Hinako and Robert shouted at the same time.
“HERE IT GOES FOLKS!!! TWO MAGIC ATTACKS COLLIDING!!” Lola commented. “I WONDER WHO WILL WIN THE MAGIC ATTACK STRUGGLE!!!”
Hinako used her right hand for Wind Magic and her left hand for Fire Magic, while Robert used his right hand for Fire Magic and his left hand for Wind Magic. After a few seconds of firing theri Magic Attack, they collided. Hinako and Robert started to pour Magical Energy into their Magic Attack in order to push out the opposing Magic Attack. As the struggle continued, it could be seen that Hinako’s Magic Attack was pushing back on Robert’s Magic Attack little by little. Both of them were sweating heavily! Robert could feel he would run out of Magical Energy at any moment. Hinako noticed that Robert’s Magic Attack wasn’t having as much resistance, so she poured even more Magic Energy. Hinako’s Magic Attack was able to completely push back Robert’s Magic Attack. Her Fire Tornado hit Robert head on.
"AAAAAEEEEEEEEEIIIIEEEIEIEIEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!” Robert screamed as the Fire Tornado engulfed his whole body.
“HINAKO WON THE MAGIC ATTACK STRUGGLE!!” Lola commented. “AND NOW ROBERT IS IN TROUBLE! IS THIS THE END FOR ROBERT!?”
Hinako started pouring more Magical Energy into her attack and after half a minute, Robert’s bracelet broke, concluding the match. Hinako stopped her Magic Attack and Robert fell to the floor unconscious.
“HINAKO IS OUR VICTOR OF THE LAST MATCH OF THE FIRST ROUND!!” Lola announced.
The Healers quickly stepped into the arena in order to heal Robert and take him to the infirmary. Hinako went back to the waiting room.
“WELL FOLKS, THAT’S EVERYTHING FOR ROUND 1!” Lola announced. “THE SEMI-FINALS WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER OUR 90 MINUTE BREAK!! WE WILL HAVE SOME PERFORMERS ON STAGE!! ALSO WE HAVE MANY STANDS WITH FOOD THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING PLEASE!! ONCE THE BREAK IS OVER THE FIRST MATCH WILL BE SELENE VS OSWALD FOLLOWED BY LEON VS HINAKO!! I HOPE YOU’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THESE MATCHES AS MUCH AS ME!!”
