Oswald was in awe after seeing the light engulf Leon, yet he couldn’t dwell on it for long. He kept dodging the ever increasing Shadow Ball coming his way. It seemed as if the AByss Creature had infinite Magical Energy. Oswald dodged and dodged with no end in sight. He felt his whole body burning, but he had to keep; he had to; he didn’t want to die; he still had so much he wanted to accomplish. His mind raced through all the information he had accumulated.
Damn it. When is Leon going to be out of that light! What can I do? I won’t be able to keep up for much longer. Is there something I can do? My Mana will run out soon. Wait Mana, there is Mana everywhere. I have the answer. Oswald’s thoughts raced until he found his answer. Oswald’s Mana began to frantically flow throughout his body. He began to strengthen himself. He dodged all the Shadow Balls with ease. He then began to concentrate on the Mana in the environment. His heart became calm; his Mana Flow became uniform throughout his body. He began to absorb the Mana in the environment. That should do it. That should keep me going for a good while.
As he dodged, Oswald began gathering Mana. He felt refreshed as he absorbed the Mana from the environment; he could feel how inefficient he was at absorbing the Mana, yet for now it was enough.
If I fire a Fireball, Leon might see. Oswald thought as he began forming a Fireball on his left hand. Damn it if my secret gets out, then it gets out. I much rather be alive and my secret being exposed than taking my secret to the grave. There seems to be another presence inside the light barrier alongside Leon. The Mana feels so different. Mana is Mana, yet this one feels so alien. It’s like it’s on another level.
Oswald focused his eyes on the Abyss Creature; he dodged all the incoming attacks; he took aim; he fired his Fireball. The attack hit the Abyss Creature and made it flinch. The attacks momentarily stopped. Oswald took a break from dodging as the Abyss Creature assessed the situation.
“KILL!!” Oswald could hear the demonic voice inside his head as the Abyss Creature pointed at him.
“I should be afraid, yet I feel excited. This is the same feeling I had when I fought the California Bear.” Oswald smiled. “Fighting while pushing myself to my limits is so much fun! Bring it on, Cow Face!”
Leon found himself surrounded by a powerful light after taking the Deus Sword. He could feel the power coming from the sword; he felt the power flowing through him; a power that far surpassed his Deus State.
“This should be enough to kill the Abyss Creature.” Leon said. “But how do I get out back into the black fog?”
“Greetings, my child! Fate has brought you before me!” Leon saw a beautiful blonde woman with emerald eyes as tall as him appeared right in-front of him. She had a divine aura that made Leon stare in awe. “I am Oreto! Nice to meet you, my Chosen Hero, Leon!”
“Goddess Oreto!? Your Chosen Hero?” Leon had a puzzled expression, yet he felt excited.

“Yes, that sword that was forged by your ancestor, Rosemary, and wielded by her husband, Leon Deus. You share the same name as the man that stopped the coming of Abyss into this world 500 years ago. It looks like once again a head of the religion that worships me is involved in this.” Oreto explained. “This time, it seems like there are two others. The world will enter into disarray soon enough.”
“What do you mean, Goddess?” Leon asked.
“This world and the Abyss are coming closer and closer thanks to 3 individuals that made a contract with its ruler. New dungeons will form and with that dungeon breaks will begin to occur once again. I temporarily brought back the World System to guide all of you. If we don’t stop the connection with the Abyss soon there will be major consequences.” Oreto had a serious expression. “Now my child! Go and help Selene.”
“Selene!? But Oswald is the one outside this light barrier.” Leon was confused.
“Oswald!? How? Why? According to destiny, it should be Selene!” Oreta wore a shocked expression. “Unless …” She started sensing outside the light barrier, then she smiled. “This is perfect, I can’t believe a second one appeared on Earth. Leon please protect Oswald.”
“Of course, I will. I have to protect my magicless cousin. He can only fight physically.” Leon answered.
“Magicless? Oh! I see, so that’s what’s going on.” Oreto smiled. “I have to go back to my realm. We Guardian Deities cannot interfere directly much with our world. The Deus Sword allows you to enter the Deus State for a longer period of time. Please be safe, my child!”
Oreto disappeared and the light barrier slowly disappeared. Once the light barrier was gone, Leon could see Oswald was smiling, while the Abyss Creature observed him.. Leon entered the Deus State once again.
“Stand back, Oz!” Leon commanded as he concentrated his Magical Energy on the Deus Sword. “I’ll take care of him! We’ll finally get out of this fog!”
“I still want to fight! My fighting spirit is still high!” Oswald had a determined expression.
“As your older cousin, I order you to step back and let me finish this! Stop putting yourself into more danger.” Leon yelled. “I don’t want you getting hurt! You’re like a little brother to me, Oz!”
Leon rushed at full speed towards the Abyss Creature. The Abyss Creature manipulated the fog to make limbs in order to stop Leon. Yet, Leon swung the Deus Sword as he ran, cutting down all the limbs that tried to touch him. The Abyss Creature switched to attacking with Shadow Balls, but that also proved fruitless as Leon just cut through all the attacks. When Leon got close enough to the Abyss Creature, he swung the Deus Sword from his left side to his right side. The Abyss Creature managed to block the attack by putting up a barrier. Leon then jumped; he lifted the Deus Sword above his head; he used gravity to increase the impact of his swing. As soon as the Deus Sword made impact with the barrier, it shattered. As it made it follow its path to the ground, the Deus Sword managed to slash the Abyss Creature. Once it hit the ground, Leon quickly swung the Deus Sword upwards as he unleashed a powerful Fire Magic attack using the sword as a medium. The attack caught the Abyss Creature defenseless. After the attack finished, Oswald and Leon could see the Abyss Creature was slowly disappearing as it turned into black particles. After the Abyss Creature was completely gone the black fog slowly disappeared. The arena looked the same as before the black fog appeared. Oswald began to walk toward the arena’s exit.
“It’s finally over!” Leon was relieved. “We did it; we worked together and managed to kill it! Good job out there, Oz! It looks like the interface is gone now.”
“Yeah, we … won.” Oswald stopped walking as he felt all the fatigue begin accumulating in his body. “Let’s … find the … others.” Oswald's exhaustion caught up with him; he fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
“Oz! OZ!!” Oswald could hear Leon’s voice getting closer as he closed his eyes.
