Inside a luxurious hospital room, the figure of Oswald in the hospital bed could be seen. Next to Oswald there was a woman with beautiful long chestnut hair, brown eyes, and tan skin and a young girl about 13 years old who looked like a mini version of the woman except she had blue eyes. Oswald slowly started to open his eyes. As he began to regain consciousness, Oswald’s face reflected he still felt pain.
“Mom, Carmen. Everything hurts.” Oswald groaned as he mustered his strength to talk.
“Oz, you finally woke up. Me and Mom just arrived. Daddy couldn’t make it.” Carmen said.
“Oswald, how could you risk your life like that? Do you know how worried I was when I heard you confronted one of the Lunarian Rankers?” Oswald’s mom, Liliana Deus, started lecturing him. “You are the only person with no Magical Power, so please don;t fight against the Lunarian Rankers.”
“But Mom, I have to make them pay. I won’t forgive them for killing Grandma.” Oswald talked back. “I have to stop them.”
“I know, how do you think I feel knowing they killed my mother-in-law?” Liliana said. “Leave this matters to your Father, not only is he the head of the Deus family, he is also one of the strongest Deus right behind Duke Leon Deus.”
“I KNOW! But I was the one who saw Four kill her.” Oswald yelled.
“You better be quiet and listen to your Mom, Oz.” A blonde, blue eyed woman with a prosthetic arm entered the room. “Did that brother of mine not show up? That idiot, his son is hurt and all he does is work.”
“Aunt May, you’re here.” Carmen said as she hugged May Deus.
“Oz, leave this matter to the rest of the Deus family. I know how you feel. I mean on that day not only did I lose my arm, I also lost my mom.” May said with a sorrowful expression. “You and I are the only ones who saw Mom die. But I am glad I was able to protect you six years ago even if I lost my right arm.”
“Alright, I’ll stay out of dangerous situations.” Oswald said.
“Don’t worry, Oz. Once I grow up I’ll become powerful and protect you.” Carmen said. “They tell me I am a genius with incredible Magic Power and Magic Energy, so I’ll train harder to obtain teh Deus State when I am 20 just like Daddy.”
“Thanks, Carmen.” Oswald said as he patted Carmen’s head.
“Carmen, have you seen the Deus State up close?” May asked.
“No, Daddy has never shown it to me. I only seen it from afar when others transform into it.” Carmen replied.
“Then, I’ll show it to you, right now.” May said as her face turned into a serious expression. A gentle breeze was coming from May’s body and an increase in power could be felt from within her body. In the next moments her short blonde hair slowly turned white, her eyes became a darker shade of blue, her whole demeanor changed into a calmer one. Oswald could feel that right now May was leagues beyond her normal self. “This is the Deus State. I can only last about 1 hour like this before forcibly turning back to normal.”
Oswald and Carmen looked at May with awe. This was the first time Carmen had personally witnessed someone use the Deus State in front of her. May had become an imposing figure, but Oswald felt that she was still weaker than Two. May returned to normal after a few moments.
“I prefer normal me. After giving up fighting, I only use the Deus State for fashion shows.” May commented. “Oh speaking of that. I found a kind and beautiful girl at Rosemary High School who I want to recruit to my model agency. Her name is Maria Kim.”
“Oh the girl with amazing healer potential.” Liliana said. “You should do it, May.”

“Good afternoon.” The voice of a girl could be heard and when she came into the room, Oswald saw that it was Hannah and she was holding a paper bag. “Oz, you finally woke up. I was so worried after Two beat you up like that.”
“Hi, Hannah!” Oswald’s cheeks turned red remembering the lap pillow Hannah gave him before losing consciousness. “Thanks for coming. Where is Jack?”
“After fighting Two alongside you he only collapsed from exhaustion from using buffs and healing magic, so he was discharged from the hospital that same day at night. He is coming, but he is running late. He texted me that his mom is making him walk the dog.”
Liliana, Carmen, and May gave each other an acknowledging node after witnessing Hannah and Oswald talking with each other.
“Oswald, your sister and I will be going back home now. We will come back along with your Father at night.” Liliana said as she hugged Oswald.”
“Bye Oz.” Carmen waved as she and Lilina exited the room.
“I better get back to my agency. It’s so much work being an agency owner. Take care, my stubborn nephew.” May hugged Oswald and then left the room leaving Oswald and Hannah by themselves inside the room.
“I never asked them, but for how long was I out?” Oswald asked.
“I would say about two days.” Hannah said. “They closed the school for the rest of the week after Two’s attack.”
“Hannah … “ Oswald hesitated about asking out Hannah. He was so confident a few moments ago, but now he was nervous. “Would you be my girlfriend?”
Hannah blushed at the sudden question and had a big smile. She came closer to the bed and sat in the chair next to it. She held Oswald’s hand.
“Yes, I would love to.” Hannah responded. “Let’s go to the Moon Cafe, once you get discharged.”
“I am looking forward to it.” Oswald said with a big smile. Oswald and Hannah stared into each other's eyes and felt drawn towards each other and before they knew it their lips were interlocked with each other. Oswald could feel Hannah’s soft lips, he embraced her and pulled her closer to him. They had become lost into their own little world.
“Hey Oz!” Jack’s voice interrupted them. Jack observed as Oswald and Hannah pulled away from each other and were blushing. “I guess you finally told her.”
“Jack, you … I’ll just have to convince Aurora to keep going out with you. That way I can have Oz all to myself.” Hannah said. “You still going with her on a date on Saturday, right?”
“Yes, but why do you want to take away my best friend?” Jack replied.
“Just teasing. Now that I think about it, you and Aurora are a great match.” Hannah said. “Oh yeah I brought sweet bread from Bakery Kim.”
“Thanks, Hannah!” Oswald said as Hannah handed him a concha from the paper bag. “But you barely go there, even though you like the bread.”
“Well, the owner’s daughter and me used to be best friends, but we had a falling out before middle school ended. Now Maria is going to Rosemary High School and I am in Zapotes High School.” Hannah said. “The owner Hajin Kim is a great man, he was my late parent’s friend.”
“Wait. Maria Kim, is she the genius healer everyone keeps talking about?” Jack asked.
“Yes and somehow today she was in the bakery helping her dad as the cashier today. Just my luck.” Hannah said. “At least we didn’t fight.”
“If you don’t want to run into Maria, then you don’t have to go to the bakery. I’ll get it for you.” Oswald said. “Although, I never met Maria before. I met her sister, Fiona, before.”
“It seems you are much better.” Hannah said. “How do you feel?”
“It looks they did wonders. Before passing out I felt some bones break, but it seems the doctors here are great with healing magic. I have no more broken bones.” Oswald replied. “But I still feel extremely sore.”
“Healing magic won’t heal everything and for more complex injuries you need more power, energy, and time.” Jack commented. “As the healer of our party, I know this. Speaking of party, Hannah, where is Amy?”
“My uncle took her to the springs down in Palo Alto for a father and daughter bonding trip, they left me all alone in the house. Although, Palo ALto is a 30-45 minute drive, he decided for them to stay in a hotel.” Hannah said.
Although I can’t tell them that the soreness is most likely from pushing my body by using too much Mana. Oswald thought about his current state. I better find a way to enter dungeons without being tracked. I need to get stronger. No one knows I can use Mana to simulate Magical Energy, so I’ll use this to my advantage.
Oswald, Hannah, and Jack continue to make small talk and enjoy each other’s company after a couple of hours Hannah and Jack had to leave to tend to personal matters. Before leaving, Hannah gave Oswald a kiss on the cheek. Now all alone in his hospital room, Oswald decided to take a nap.
