“That power! Don’t tell me that it is an Elemental Gun!” Jin was surprised to see Ayano using the Elemental Gun. “I know Hajin has his brother’s Elemental Gun. Right, your daughter and Oliver were engaged. I admired the love they had for each other; they died together to stop that man and make sure us Lunarians could make it to Earth.”
“Yeah, my Aria and my apprentice, Oliver, gave us the opportunity to be here. I wish they could’ve made it with us back to Earth.” Ayano answered, looking at the Elemental Gun. She continued firing at Flying Lions.
“Or maybe this outcome was for the best. I wouldn’t want them to experience what we have been through here on Earth.” Jin continued slashing at the Flying Lions with his sword. “I am guessing Mei named her daughter after her older sister.”
“She wanted to honor her older sister’s memory so much and now I am only left with my dear granddaughter, Aria.” Ayano was annoyed. “I won’t fail my granddaughter just like I failed my two daughters.”
“We should help fight the S-Rank Boss.” Jin suggested while killing the last Flying Lion. “Why did you bring the Elemental Gun?”
“This is going to belong to Oswald. It’s my gift for him for such an excellent job. I hope he gets out of this situation unscathed. I don’t want to lose any more loved ones.” Ayano was worried. “Please God, protect him! This is the same feeling as back then inside the ship. I can’t do anything to help, Oswald.”
“I thought Oliver was your only apprentice. And now have taken a Deus as your apprentice.” Jin was irritated. “You know very well. I am even disgusted with the idea that he is my daughter’s friend and Hannah’s boyfriend. But I can’t do anything yet.”
“Let’s go through the roof. It should be easier to get outside.” Ayano headed towards the stairs, ignoring Jin’s comments. “I have another weapon to confront that monster. If my calculations are correct, then that monster should be a bit weaker than what they call Impossible-Rank Monsters.”
“Then we should hurry. I just hope Amy is fine.” Jin was concerned. He soon followed Ayano.
“Do you only care about your daughter? Aren’t you concerned about your niece too?” Ayano asked.
“Hannah will be fine. I have been training her.” Jin answered with an emotionless expression. “Amy and Hannah should be together, so Hannah better take good care of my daughter.”
“How would your sister feel about you treating her daughter like this?” Ayano glared at Jin.
“She is the daughter of that weakling. He called himself my sister’s husband yet he got himself and my sister killed.” Jin was angry. “I wish I had never befriended him! My sister wouldn’t have married him and she would still be alive!”
Meanwhile outside the building, Joseph was attacking the Red Dragon from the front, keeping all the attention on himself, while John and May attacked from the sides. Aria ran through the battlefield using Healing Magic and applying Buffs.
“We have about 50 minutes left on the Deus State! Everyone step back now!” Joseph ordered. Everyone quickly stepped back. Joseph rose his greataxe and began gathering Magical Energy. The temperature around Joseph began to decrease at a rapid pace. Joseph smiled as he gazed at the Red Dragon. “ABSOLUTE ZERO!!”
With the Magical Energy Joseph had also gathered at his feet, he jumped towards the Red Dragon. Joseph hit the Red Dragon before even the Red Dragon could process what was happening. The temperature in the surrounding are began to quickly decrease. The Red Dragon quickly froze and in a few moments it had become completely frozen solid.
“NOW IT’S OUR CHANCE!! LET'S GO!!” Joseph yelled as he charged towards the Red Dragon. Joseph started hacking at the Red Dragon’s front right leg. After a few hits he managed to cut off some fingers. The other three followed Joseph’s lead and started attacking the Red Dragon. John and Aria attacked the other front leg, while May began shooting at the back legs.
As they continued attacking, Joseph noticed that the temperature was rising slowly. He started feeling the Red Dragon’s Magic Power and he was able to tell it was growing. The Red Dragon kept concentrating all his Magical Energy. The ice started to slowly melt. Water drops began dripping from the ice structure. The Red Dragon was melting the ice bit by bit.
Stolen story; please report.
“STEP BACK, NOW!!!” Joseph commanded. As everyone stepped back, the Red Dragon managed to break free from its ice prison.
The Red Dragon roared and glared at Joseph, yet Joseph smirked. The Red Dragon took to the skies and started to breathe Fireballs towards Joseph. Joseph was laughing as he dodged the Fireballs.
“This is so exciting. I haven’t done something like this in a long time.” Joseph was smiling. “I had forgotten how it felt to fight something above my level. Don’t disappoint me, Dragon!”
Upon seeing that none of its attacks were landing the Red Dragon started to charge up Magical Energy for its next attack. The pressure coming from the Red Dragon kept growing each second. Joseph looked back at the building and thought about the people inside. His expression became determined.
“The building might collapse if the attack hits it.” May said.
“I know.” Joseph said, looking at everyone. “Damn it none of us is especially good at Defense Magic. Let’s make a barrier!”
“Hopefully the attack it’s not too powerful or else we might get out of the Deus State while maintaining the barrier.” John was worried.
“Let me start the barrier and then we can feed our Magical Energy into it.” Aria was confident. “Afterall, I am the best at barriers out of the four of us.”
“Bring it on, LIZARD!!” Joseph yelled. “We’ll stop you!”
Aria put up a barrier and started feeding her Magical Energy into it. The Red Dragon fired its Fire Breath, hitting the barrier, cracks started to quickly form. The other three quickly began feeding Magical Energy into the barrier. Slowly the cracks on the barrier began to disappear. The Red Dragon continued to use more Magical Energy to make its attack stronger and after a few minutes cracks started to form on the barrier once again. Everyone began to sweat as they used more Magical Energy to maintain the barrier.
“DAMN IT!! WHEN IS IT ENDING!?” Aria was at her limit. “I can’t hold much longer!”
“Don’t give up yet, Aria!” Joseph commanded. “I chose you as my secretary and then as my son’s bodyguard because I am confident in your abilities. I know you still have more within you. We need to protect everyone inside the building from this monster.”
“Aria we have a duty to protect the weak as the stronger ones here.” May said. “I know that Lunarians possess great powers and you’re Half-Lunarian. Please tap into those powers. I know that as Victor’s children, we three have no right to ask this, but we need them.”
“Please Aria. Do it for everyone inside the building.” John pleaded. “They are busy enough fighting the weaker monsters, so let’s take care of this for their sake.”
“But those Lunarian Rankers bastards are using Armor Ascension to cause destruction. I don’t want to use the same power as them.” Aria was conflicted. “How can I use something I see as evil!?”
“I don’t know much about Armor Ascension, but I feel it is a power-up similar to our Deus State. Make that power your own and change its perception. If you don’t do it, then who is going to do it? ” Joseph reassured Aria. “The Deus State is recognized as a symbol of power and respect because the Deus Family has been using it not only for our own benefit, but also for the benefit of others. Aria be the change you want to see!”
Change its perception myself. Am I qualified to do that? Can I even do it? What does it mean to be a Lunarian and an Earthling? Am I both, one, or neither? What should I do? Aria’s mind began to race with questions. Mom, Dad, what am I? I wish you guys were still alive. Are the Lunarian Rankers right? Are their methods wrong?
“Aria, do you know why I gave you that name?” Aria could hear her mother’s voice. “It’s to honor my older sister, Aria. She was incredible; I miss her so much. The only reason we Lunarians made it to Earth was thanks to her and her fiancé, Oliver, sacrificing their lives for us. She always looked so cool when she used Armor Ascension, she was a kind warrior. I wish you could have met her.”
“I won’t let my Aunt’s memory be tainted! Armor Ascension will no longer be a staple of the Lunarian Rankers!” Aria yelled. “I’ll follow Grandma’s instructions to achieve it.”
Aria closed her eyes and let herself dive deep into her mind. Her mind was chaotic; she could feel all her thoughts and emotions bouncing all over the place; she took a deep breath; she began to concentrate on the Magical Energy in her body; she could no longer hear the outside world; she could feel her Magical Energy escaping her body and feeding the barrier. As she concentrated on her Magic Power, she could feel relaxed; she felt one with herself; her mind, body and spirit felt at balance. She had finally accepted her heritage as a Lunarian; her Magic Power began to expand; she could feel the Magic Energy Flow inside her body began to increase. As she opened her eyes, she could feel stronger; she began concentrating her Magical Energy all over her body. Aria’s body began glowing. After a few moments she was wearing an armored orange bodysuit along with a helmet.
“I am Aria Estrada; I am an Earthling and a Lunarian.” Aria declared. “I’ll live up to my name; I won’t let down Aunt Aria!!”
