Oswald with a tray of food consisting of a bacon cheese hamburger, french fries, and strawberry lemonade scanned the cafeteria to find any empty tables. At the corner farthest from the entrance, Oswald spotted an empty table. He quickly made his way to the table, put down his tray of food and sat down. He then texted Hannah and Jack the location of the table he found. After the text was sent, Oswald took out a bag containing the remaining pieces of sweet bread out of his backpack. Once he took his eyes away from his food, Oswald noticed Hannah and her cousin, Amy, approaching the table while holding their trays of food holding a hamburger, fresh vegetables, and orange juice. Amy’s brown hair was shorter than Hannah’s silky black hair and Amy’s short stature gave her a cute look. Oswald’s smile was mainly directed towards Hannah. When Hannah noticed Oswald her lips curled up into a big smile.
“Hanna, Amy, how was magic theory?” Oswald asked both girls as they approached the table and sat down.
“Not too bad, I guess. The test was just as hard as I expected.” Hannah replied.
“For me the test was a tiny bit too easy. I wish it was harder. Nana, it would have been easier if you had studied more like I told you back home.” Amy replied while scolding Hannah.
“Sorry, it’s just that I was more focused on my combat class.” Hannah said to Amy. “Oz, you won’t believe it. Jack is going on a date with Aurora on Saturday.”
“With one of the twins!?” Oswald responded. “When did this happen?”
“Apparently, it happened while we were in the waiting room and Ron and his team were inside the artificial dungeon.” Hannah replied.
“Oh, there he is.” Amy said when she saw Jack walking towards the table. “From your expression, I can tell the test was hard for you.”
“Yeah, yeah. I am not a genius at theory like you, Amy.” Jack said as he seated down and put down his food tray. “I can cast healing magic and buff just well during combat class. Give me some slack. And you know what, at least I have a date unlike you three.”
The four friends began to eat their hamburgers while talking about school and their personal lives. Their conversation eventually shifted towards their upcoming Adventurer’s License Exam.
“I hope you're all ready for the Adventurer’s License Exam in a couple of months.” Hannah said. “Once we pass it we can finally go into real dungeons.”
“We should be ready. All those artificial dungeons in combat class have helped.” Jack replied.
“I am really looking forward to entering a real dungeon.” Amy added.
“Our test is going into a G-Rank dungeon and reaching the last floor. Sounds as easy as pie.” Oswald said.
“The Adventurer License is my first step in becoming the Greatest Adventurer.” Jack said. “What do you guys want to achieve?”
“I want to become a great Attacker just like my deceased mother.” Amy replied.
“I’m still undecided.” Hannah replied as she clenched her fists.
“Well, I just want to become stronger.” Oswald answered as his face gave a slight hint of determination. “As you know I am the only person with no Magical Power or Magical Energy, so I am focusing on my physical combat.”
“You’re pretty good at physical combat. There is no one at Zapotes High who can beat you in technique, not even Ron.” Jack replied.

“That’s right. Oz is the best attacker I know.” Hannah added with a huge smile.
“Oz, you know there are a lot of people who support you and we’ll be always part of that group.” Amy said.
“Thanks, guys. I’ll give it my best. So let’s get our Adventurer’s License.” Oswald replied. Suddenly, they heard an alarm go off. The alarms were only reserved for emergencies and when the students didn’t hear that this was a test, panic began to spread throughout the students.
“ATTENTION STUDENTS!! WE ARE IN A LOCKDOWN. I REPEAT WE ARE IN A LOCKDOWN. ONE OF THE OTHERWORLD RANKERS IS ATTACKING THE SCHOOL. PLEASE STAY PUT. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE AUTHORITIES” The principal’s voice could be heard throughout the school intercom system and Oswald could feel the ground shake.
“Is this why my uncle asked me our hanging out spots?” Hannah whispered to herself with a calm tone.
“YOU BASTARD!!” Oswald yelled and started to run towards the exit, but Hannah grabbed his hand and tried to keep him from leaving the cafeteria.
“Oz, don’t go. We’ll be safe here. I bet they won’t attack this place.” Hannah confidently said to Oswald.
“This place might be safe, but what about the other students who need help?” Oswald said as he loosened Hannah’s grip and started to head towards the exit.
“YOU IDIOT! IT”S DANGEROUS! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO WITH NO MAGIC!” Hannah yelled at Oswald with an expression of concern, but Oswald just continued to run. “Fine, do as you like, but I can’t go. Amy couldn’t do anything, so I’ll stay with her.”
“Hannah, don’t worry I’ll go after him.” Jack tried to reassure Hannah. “If anything happens, just remember I have buff and healing magic.”
“Those idiots. They’re not at Two’s level yet.” Hannah whispered to herself as she saw Jack exit the cafeteria following Oswald’s path.
As Oswald stepped outside, in the distance he could see students being chased by Shadow Imps. Oswald quickly ran towards the monsters. With his knives back in the locker room, Oswald had no choice but to fight the monsters using his fist. As he dodged the monsters’ attacks, while seeing the monster’s mana flow to see their weaknesses. Oswald felt his strength enhanced. When he looked back he saw Jack had followed and casted a buff. Oswald made eye contact with Jack and nodded. Oswald quickly closed the distance between him and one of the monsters and delivered a punch right to its gut, sending it flying. The other two monsters took this opportunity to try and attack Oswald, but he managed to evade with only a few scratches. Oswald propelled himself towards the monsters using his legs and using the momentum he struck one of the monsters right in the head killing it instantly. The last monster launched itself towards Oswald as it swiped him with its claws. Oswald blocked the attack with his right arm and then countered with a downward punch, which left the monster down in the ground. Oswald then moved to repeatedly stomp the monster’s head until it died.
“Better be careful, Oz. We have no weapons.” Jack warned as he healed Oswald’s injuries. “My healing and buff are not as effective without my staff.”
“Got it. But how did the Ranker bring the Shadow Imps here?” Oswald began to talk as they started to walk to find students who needed their help.
“Lucky for us the Shadow Imps are only F-rank monsters, so most students should be fine.” Jack said. “We only have to worry about running into the Ranker.”
Once Oswald and Jack got close to the Training Building they saw a big group of students running away while screaming in terror. Behind them walking slowly was a man wearing a burgundy bodysuit armor and a helmet, on the left side of his chest a Roman Numeral 2 could be seen. As soon as he looked towards Oswald’s and Jack’s direction they could feel that this man was dangerous.
“TWO!!” Oswald yelled.
“What do we have here? The Magicless Deus.” Two answered in a mocking manner. “As far as I know, the one you would want to kill would be Four.”
“YOU …” Oswald tried to answer back.
“I mean he killed your grandma in front of you six years ago.” Two said. “A talentless kid like you is not worth my time, but if you try to get in my way I have to hurt you!”
Oswald and Jack took their fighting stances while shaking. Two started to laugh uncontrollably like a maniac. His posture relaxed, not paying any mind to the two young guys in front of him.
“I can’t kill you yet, Young Deus. I am still weaker than your father, but your friend there, I have no qualms about taking his life.” Two threatened. “But I guess I’ll have some fun with you two.”
