The class ended after three hours.
None of the students found it boring and were even excited about Julian's lessons.
Arlo had to admit that Julian was a great teacher.
He knew how to garner the attention of his students and how to spark their curiosity.
He informed them at the end that they would be testing their talent in the next class. It was imperative to do that to judge the student's potential.
None of the students left the class as they were told not to.
A few minutes later, another man entered the quiet class.
One of the great things about being a vampire is the ability to communicate without verbal speech.
"Hello everyone."
In contrast to Julian, this man appeared to be more friendly.
"My name is Moose and I will teach you how to use your vampire abilities. To do that we will need to use a more suitable place. So, follow me."
With that, he walked out of the class.
The students hurriedly followed after him.
The procession of less than two hundred students left the main building before entering one of the smaller ones.'
This building was the first-year training center.
There were several seats around the hall and at the center of the building was a large open space.
Moose stopped at the open space.
The space was more than enough to accommodate all the students.
"Space yourselves."
The students heeded his instructions.
They were all curious about what this new teacher of theirs had in mind.
"Let us start with the basics."
"Aside from the unique abilities of the nine clans, all vampires have access to the same set of abilities."
"The first is enhanced speed."
Just like that, he disappeared from his position without a trace and just like a ghost, causing all the students to gasp.
A moment later, a calm voice resounded from the back of the group.
"In regards to our speed, not even the werewolves can match us."
The students quickly turned around to look at him.
None of them saw how he moved, and that included Arlo's group and the outstanding five.
But Moose didn't seem to care about their shock.
"The second is our inhumane reflexes."
With that, he disappeared again but this time painful grunts followed soon after.
The students started falling one after the other.
One by one, the rest started panicking.
All they saw was a lingering afterimage before a student fell.
In less than a minute, seventy students fell.
The more fearful ones started retreating but a cold voice cut all their paths of escape.
"Leave and you fail my class!"
Some students prepared for their turn and this included Arlo and Arianne.
They could all tell this was a form of test.
Another thirty seconds later, another forty-five students fell.
Suddenly there was a change.
Moose flashed in front of a girl whose legs had already transformed at some point.
The girl moved and retreated at a fast speed as Moose's fist came launching at her guts.

She retreated safely but her face still went pale from the air blast that came from his punch.
She almost coughed a mouthful of blood but forcefully suppressed it.
Moose finally appeared clearly in front of the students.
"Not bad!" he smiled at her.
"Now, how about we continue?"
He looked at the others still standing before he disappeared.
Arlo wasn't sure but he thought his gaze lingered on him.
All the students tried to resist him but failed in the end.
Only three of them managed to remain standing but they didn't come out unscathed.
Those three together with the former girl were among the outstanding five.
Only Ric remained of the five.
Seeing the students around him fall, Ric suddenly transformed his hands.
He saw something flash before him and didn't hesitate to throw his fist as he gave a strange battle cry, "Ooh!"
"You fail to grasp the essence of what I am trying to teach you," said Moose as his fist connected with Ric's abdomen.
He had merely shifted his body to the side before throwing a punch.
Ric stumbled backward before falling on his knee.
Clutching his gut, he coughed a mouthful of blood.
Moose appeared once more as he looked at the kneeling Ric.
"Fool, I am testing your reflexes, not your strength. Did you think you were my match? How conceitous!"
After saying his piece, he continued with his test.
Now, only less than twenty students remained.
Moose passed beside Joe before he appeared once more in front of the students.
He stood stunned on the spot as he looked at the lying Joe.
'Have I hit him already?'
Joe was feeling conflicted at this moment.
Seeing all the students cough blood one after the other, he became scared.
'You are doing it again! How do you expect to remain beside him?' Arlo's image flashed in his mind.
He sighed and was about to stand back up, so he opened his eyes.
But upon seeing the stunned Moose, he suddenly forgoes his previous thoughts.
'I will change next time.' with that he grabbed his stomach, 'Let's appear more real.'
"Ah! My tummy hurts!" he screamed in feigned pain.
Moose couldn't stop the corner of his mouth from twitching.
'Who would believe you?'
Exasperated, he ignored Joe and continued.
This time he flashed before Arianne and didn't hesitate to throw out a punch.
Arianne was already prepared.
Since she couldn't trace his movement, she released her divine sense to cover a few meters around her.
Sensing movement, her legs shifted gracefully causing her body to move sideways.
With that, she completely dodged the attack.
"As expected of the princess."
She was the first to dodge his punch.
Moose continued and in less than ten breaths, only one student remained standing aside from Arianne and the outstanding five.
Coincidentally that student was our hero, Arlo.
'I left you for last. Show me what is so special about you to receive my liege's attention.'
Since he couldn't catch even a glimpse of Moose's shadow, Arlo did like Arianne.
He released his divine sense around him.
But unlike Arianne, he didn't wish to remain still.
'Who said I have to wait for him to attack?'
Of course, he didn't also dare to attack, he was simply not his match. In that regard, he was no different from Ric.
So.
He willed all his Ki into his feet causing them to be encased in a whitish glow.
Once he felt something breaking into his divine sense, his legs kicked off the ground.
His body turned into a blur as he moved in the opposite direction.
'Huh?' Moose was first stunned before a grin appeared on his face.
'Interesting.'
He gave chase.
Two figures left after images in their wake.
Moose had limited his speed to that of a mid-level advanced mage.
He soon noticed he had no hope of catching up to Arlo.
The now-healed students were stunned at the situation.
Even the outstanding five doubted they could move at that speed.
Arlo streaked around the students.
He felt the world slow around him.
No!
It was more apt to say he was moving at such a high speed that made the world seem slow.
Moose decided to increase his speed to peak advanced stage.
Due to the sudden increase in strength, his feet kicked off the ground only once before his body flew toward Arlo like a cannonball.
*Whoosh*
Arlo felt a change behind him.
His mind moved in overdrive and a moment later he executed split legs.
Because he was moving at a high speed, his body slid forward even after performing the split.
Not even a second later, he felt something whoosh above him, so he looked up in time to lock eyes with the latter.
Moose passed above him before coming to a sudden halt.
Since he wasn't moving at his fastest, he didn't find it difficult to break his speed.
He turned around in time to see Arlo use his hands as support to roll up the ground.
"Excellent reflexes!"
Arlo smiled at his praise. He knew that was nowhere close to his max speed, so he didn't let the praise get into his head.
Suppressing the thought of finding out Arlo's limit, Moose clapped his hands twice before ordering:
"Gather around!"
"As you can see, all of you have already healed from the minor wounds I inflicted. As vampires, we have insane regenerative abilities. But beware, it is not without limits. The more we heal up, and the more severe the wound, the faster we consume our stamina."
"Moving on..." he raised his forefinger up. Suddenly his nail grew longer and ended at a sharp point resembling a claw.
"We can turn our fingers into claws."
"Try it out!"
.....
The lesson continued for several hours during which Moose showed them a lot of abilities vampires can use.
Suddenly the door swung open and a woman hugged by a tight-fitting suit. walked into the building.
"Moose, get out!"
The corner of Moose's eyes twitched as he looked at her speechless.
What made Arlo surprised was the sudden excitement of the students upon seeing her.
"She is the one."
"The martial fighter, Lady Evangeline."
"Rumour has it that she has mastered all forms of martial arts and can wield every weapon."
"She is like a tumor to her enemies on the battlefield."
"But doesn't she only teach the fourth-year students?"
"That is right, she didn't appear at the gathering yesterday."
Several discussions resounded. Perhaps it was because of their excitement, that the students didn't bother using their spiritual energy to communicate.
"Didn't you hear me?" she asked as she glared at Moose.
A glint of fear flashed briefly within Moose's eyes but he steeled his heart soon after.
He couldn't allow himself to look bad in front of the students.
"But I still have class..."Upon seeing her narrow her eyes at him, he swallowed the rest of his words.
Thankfully, the other party seemed to be reasonable and gave him a way out:
"You have had a class with them for almost five hours. It's now my turn."
"Yes, yes. You are right." Moose scurried out of the building.
Arlo was speechless.
His high opinion of Moose suddenly shattered like glass.
"Now pair up. It's time for a spar!"
