CHAPTER 43: ONE VS TWO

Arlo felt something snap within him.

His entire bearing suddenly changed.

A dignified aura surrounded him, one that belonged to a divine being who wouldn't allow himself to be trampled by mere ants.

Bon was stunned by this sudden change.

*Crack!*

Bon's leg held by Arlo's wounded arm was twisted at an unnatural angle.

However, there was no change in expression on Bon's face as if the pain he felt was negligible.

*Snap!*

In a mere second, the twisted bone snapped back in place.

This was one of the vampire's innate abilities.

Instant regeneration!

Nonetheless, Arlo achieved his aim.

He was no longer trampled under Bon.

*Whoosh!*

Arlo moved with such a speed that his body seemed like a blur.

His right hand formed into a claw, a whitish smoke covering it. The space around the claw twisted, and the power contained within this attack was simply unimaginable.

Arlo's hand plunged into Bon's chest, bringing out with it on the other side, a beating heart.

Bon's eyes widened in surprise.

He couldn't even react to the attack.

Hell! He didn't even see it coming.

For the first time, fear appeared on Bon's face as his eyes shook.

Even though this attack couldn't kill him, he was now completely powerless and defenseless.

Arlo's cold eyes entered his vision.

His shoulder-length golden hair billowed behind him, and his eyes were cold and unfeeling.

The look in his eyes was one an ancient beast would show to a mere ant.

*PA!* The still-beating heart fell to the ground.

Arlo moved his now free right hand towards Bon's head.

Bon felt a chill running down his spine and his forehead was soon covered in sweat.

If a vampire's head was cut off or turned into meat paste, not even their regeneration could save them.

…..

Nikki clenched her teeth in anger, and her hands were tightened into fists, her fingers drawing blood.

"Calm down! Judi is still there."

"I know. But to see my son treated in such a way, and not being able to act…" She couldn't complete her sentence as her body trembled greatly. It looked like it was taking her all to restrain herself from interfering.

Tibu didn't reply, and merely looked upward, his senses passing through the roof and locking unto the snow-white-haired girl who had her entire attention fixed on the ongoing fight.

If not for her presence, they would have acted long ago.

…..

Arlo sent his fist hurtling towards Bon's head.

Sure enough, a girl's voice echoed out.

"World of darkness!"

Arlo suddenly found himself in a world of darkness. Moreover, even when concentrating 100% ki in one eye, he couldn't see a thing around him.

He lost sight of Bon and could guess that the girl who didn't act, at least until now had already saved him.

However, he remained calm and shifted his entire ki into his ears.

Unlike the previous situation he was in, where his consciousness was completely cut off from his body, he was still in the real world and could use his other senses to feel his surroundings.

*Swish!*

The wind beside him whistled.

He immediately shifted his head to the side, and he felt a soft skin brush past him.

His thoughts moved quickly in that instant.

He could tell that the girl was the senior of the two siblings, which meant that she was far stronger than Bon.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

That is, he had no chance of winning against her.

Unless…

He catches her by surprise.

The attack sent toward him hadn't been withdrawn yet when he threw out a punch.

Even though he couldn't see, he could guess the other's location after she attacked.

Judi was taken by surprise, and she quickly controlled her left chest to merge with the darkness, allowing the punch to pass through her.

She couldn't catch her breath though as Arlo's punch was immediately shifted into a sweep.

Gritting her teeth, she merged her entire chest into the darkness.

However, Arlo was relentless and he continued to attack, without allowing the other party to catch a breath.

Judi eyes erupted in flames, she was stronger than Arlo and could even defeat him with a mere slap.

It was just that the other party caught her by surprise and now she was drawn into his tempo, with no chance to attack. The domineering aura around Arlo intimidated her.

She may be stronger, however, Arlo's fist that was causing the space around it to quake was also deadly to her, so she didn't dare take it head-on and could only dodge.

And this brought about a game of chase, as two figures flashed around in a huge sphere of darkness; one chasing, the other retreating.

Arlo continued to hammer his fist out, his attacks merging with each other.

Jab, sweep, uppercut, jab…

Different attacks were continuously thrown out.

Judi lungs were about to burst from anger, and her chest continuously heaved.

"Enough!" She screamed out in anger but what greeted her was a punch to the face.

She wasn't afraid though, as her fangs grew out longer, and her fingers turned into claws. Her eyes turned blood red, releasing a savage and bloodthirsty glow.

Arlo could tell something had changed, so he hurled his fist faster.

However…

*ROOAAAR!* a loud roar resounded in the world of darkness.

Arlo's mind turned blank, a ringing sound echoing in his head.

He found himself in a dark world, however in here, he only had his consciousness.

He was cut off from his body.

This time though, he didn't panic.

For some reason, he knew what to do.

Shifting his consciousness toward the only flickering light in this endless darkness, he called out in a deep and dignified voice.

"Come!"

The light trembled continuously for some time after the command before it shot into Arlo's head.

…..

Seeing the frozen figure before her, with his hand still thrown in a punch, Judi flashed a savage smile.

If it was known how she was made to retreat continuously under the onslaught of this brat's attack, her reputation would be tarnished and she would be treated as a joke. Therefore she had to teach the brat a lesson, if not her mind wouldn't be at peace.

She inched closer toward him, a black dagger materializing in her hand.

"Let's start by tearing this arm completely off," she said, the savage smile still plastered on her face, as she sent her dagger towards Arlo's dangling left arm.

However…

*Boom!*

A spiritual wave spread out from Arlo's head as the center into the surrounding five meters.

Judi was stunned at the spot, her eyes almost popping from their sockets.

'Isn't this spiritual energy? How?'

A vampire could use spiritual energy from birth, whereas a human could only use it when they become a red-core mage.

This was another reason why vampires stood at the apex.

Yet, what was this before her?

She suddenly grew alarmed.

This brat was toppling all her knowledge about the norm.

He was simply terrifying.

She ignored Arlo's wounded arm and sent her dagger slashing toward his neck.

Her heart was getting restless. She had a feeling that this brat would come back to bite them.

Therefore, she had to kill him now and snuff out the danger while she still could.

It was at this time that Arlo's eyes flashed open.

Unlike before when he could only guess Judi's position, he could now see her clearly.

It wasn't with his eyes but with his sixth sense, his divine sense.

Arlo shifted his body back, barely evading the dagger swept at his neck, and then…

He attacked.

Using his right hand, he threw out dozens of punches in a mere instant.

Judi gritted her teeth as she dodged with all her mind.

She had actually forgotten that she was the stronger of the two, as a seed of fear had been planted in her mind.

*ROOAAAR!*

She released a roar once more, however, Arlo merely covered his body with his spiritual energy and continued with his attacks.

The two continuously flashed from one point to another within the sealed world of darkness, resuming their game of chase.

After several breaths, Arlo could tell that this wouldn't get him anywhere if he were to continue.

'Let's try it!' His eyes flashed with resolve.

*Whoosh!*

He released all his spiritual energy, forming a tight square barrier around him and Judi.

A wave of fatigue suddenly hit him from overdrawing his spiritual energy, however, a feeling of contentment welled up within him.

I did it!

Seeing what Arlo just accomplished, Judi roared out in denial.

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

What made vampires rule over all other creatures wasn't their superior strength, speed, or instant regeneration.

Instead, it was their ability to use spiritual energy to attack.

All other beings could only use their spiritual energy in the form of divine sense, or in the case of rare geniuses, as a defense to protect themselves from spiritual attacks.

Using spiritual attacks was the unique ability of all vampires, making them among the few that stand at the apex of cultivation.

Yet, what was happening here?

Arlo didn't care about her unstable emotions and sent out several punches in a mere instant.

In this confined space, Judi's movement was totally restrained.

She could break out from this barrier, however, it would cost her her focus, and that was all Arlo needed to deal with her.

She could only grit her teeth, stand her ground, and merge her attacked parts with the darkness to ignore Arlo's punches.

"AHH!"

Arlo screamed as he willed more ki from the surroundings into his body.

*Crack!*

He could feel a chain break within his body.

*Whoosh!*

More ki flowed into Arlo's body before they all congregated at his fist.

This was 120% of Arlo's body capacity.

The white smoke surrounding his fist turned vibrant, and the space around it split into thin cracks.

"AHHH!" His body and fist turned into a blur, and hundreds of punches were thrown in an instant.

"AHHHH!" Judi also screamed, albeit from the pain she felt as her body was continuously riddled with holes.

She couldn't keep up with Arlo's speed.

Arlo suddenly stopped, and drew his right back behind him into a fist, as he gathered all his strength to launch his final attack.

Judi's body was completely riddled with holes, holes that were visibly closing up from her regenerative ability.

*Boom!* Arlo sent his fist hurtling towards Judi's head, the space crumbling around it with booming sounds echoing across the room.

Judi's pupil grew thinner, and a feeling of death welled up in her.

If this attack landed on her, she would definitely die.

*Crack!*

The world of darkness suddenly collapsed bringing with it the angry cry of a woman.

"DIE!"

A dark shadow streaked past Arlo, bringing with it Arlo's entire right arm.

A sudden wave of pain hit Arlo, adding to the fatigue he felt from overdrawing his spiritual energy, he collapsed and directly fainted.

However, before he lost all consciousness, he felt himself falling into a soft embrace, an enchanting smell drifting into his nose.

Nikki appeared behind Arlo, an entire arm in her grasp.

A new figure also appeared, with Arlo in her embrace.

It was the snow-white-haired girl.

However, unlike her previous cold attitude, her face was completely twisted in rage.
